Tried this little place out for dinner tonight. Friendly staff and clean atmosphere. It was empty when we first got there but few ppl came in Ordered the original cheesesteak. The meat was good but was pretty disappointed in the jarred peppers and wish they were fresh. I also ordered a large fries which was pretty steep at $ 4 for the small order we got.

First time trying this place with my boyfriend, we ordered a 15 inch barbecue cheese steak, small garlic fries and a regular drink all for around $ 19. Place seems decent and clean. Food was yummy but I couldn’t finish it, and I didn’t expect the garlic fries to be that small. But definitely would come back!

Chili peppers are not bell peppers, don’t get confused. This place only serves chili peppers, but they just call them«peppers and onions». Where’s the onion? The cheese was a reasonable very mild white cheese. I prefer baby swiss, some bite to it. The fries were, well, fries. Nothing overly good or bad.

Worst place ever. Don’t eat here. Peppers are super hot and will feel it the next day.

We had the classic and chicken cheesesteak meals, the small(7″) is a great size. The sandwich had a great flavor, texture and consistency. Definitely eating here again!

Good, quality ingredients go into their sandwiches, but sometimes they stack with too many veggies and not enough meat. Staff isn’t always the nicest, but they get the job done.

This place is great. Great taste and great regrets for consuming so many delicious calories afterwards. Always a great cheesesteak, my favorite is mushroom or bacon varieties. Getting hot peppers on the size is a must too.

Try this place today sandwich was pretty good very tasty kind of a different type of cheese dick but the only problem is I left there hungry one, I have to say where’s the beef. Portions were just too damn small.

Mushroom is the bomb! Super good, always on point. I get everything on it, a bit of spicy, a bit of sweet(from peppers), juicy, meaty, so tender. However avoid their garlic fries, not good, it’s disappointing, there is a lot of garlic on there but it’s not all that flavorful and the fries itself, is beyond mediocre. However their other fries are good. *Still pretty good when taken to-go.

Second time being here. Service was not great. Didn’t ask if I had«The Cheese Steak Shop» card, which I had. But was friendly with the guy behind me and asked him if he had a «The Cheese Steak Shop» card. Ordered a 10″ Mushroom Cheese Steak, Garlic Fries, and a large soda. He asked me if I wanted peppers. I said«Yes» Didn’t ask tell me that they were«HOT!» peppers. Was expecting Sweet Pepper. I do not think he wanted me to come back or wanted to serve me. See above comment about service. Mushroom Cheese Steak, needed more mushrooms or bigger mushroom pieces. Garlic fried were only half covered with garlic. Other half was not covered. The fries were soggy. Oh, they had a few awards for the best cheese steak in Milpitas. Well… THEYARETHEONLYCHEESESTEAKRESTAURANTINMILPITAS!!! — Overall. Service: F– Food: C Since I was not welcomed, I won’t be going back.

The cheesesteaks are good but try to order to go. The chubby girl at the register was rude & didn’t even say hello.

While this place isn’t the nicest cheesesteak shop in terms of decorations or atmosphere it has some excellent cheesesteaks. They are cheap, tasty and come with hot and or sweet peppers. They also do a stamping system for a free cheesesteak for every 15 you buy, but on Tuesdays and Sundays you get double stamps. Definitely one of my favorite lunch places in the area.

King Philly Classic cheese steak was filling — however disappointing. With such promising peppers(make sure you order hot AND sweet) adding zest and the best flavor, I was excited to stomach the rest. Midway through the sandwich, I realized the bread was not up to the par to its peppers — and I’ll say the same for the meat and cheese. This place is A-OK, but my point is the peppers deserve at least a 4. A good start to get into grub and fast food — one of San Jose’s few cheese steak shops. The garlic fries look exceptional but ended up tasting poor in flavor and consistency. The«twist fries»(a cool knickknack nickname for curly fries) tasted like a bad day at Jack in the Box. Service was fine and the worker was cute — the manager is a humble and social people’s person who seems invested in his customers.

Horrible. I ordered a pepper Cheesesteak sandwich and immediately it gave me food poisoning that lasted 8 days. My doctor said I had salmonella poison. They need to make sure they are not serving their customers with contaminated food. I think I need to call the health inspector.

Friendly service. I was greeted right after walking through the door. Also was told that drink and fries were half off on Wednesdays. Go check out the website for daily deals/specials I guess. btw had 10″ cheesesteak w/mushroom and peppers… yumm.

Considering how much I ordered, the portions at the Cheese Steak Shop were average. Even for a short Asian girl, I had to order a 10″ Philly cheesesteak with extra meat to feel satiated. Adding the extra meat and cheese is completely worth it. The sweet peppers are a nice compliment to the meat although I feel I could have done without it. It doesn’t take too long for them to make the food but watching everyone else get their delicious fat subs can make you a little inpatient. The restaurant feels like a mom and pop sandwich shop you’ve been to often during your childhood with paper flyers on the walls and smiley faces on the cash register.

I’m glad they have this Milpitas location. I’ve been to the downtown one and it was good, but I hate parking downtown. At least here, parking is abundant. Previously, I’ve had the King of Philly, which has extra meat and cheese on a 10″ bread. I wanted to try something new the other day. I ordered the spinach one which comes with spinach and mushroom. A 7″ sandwich was enough to fill me, though on hungrier days, I’d prefer a 10″ sandwich. I was disappointed with what I chose. The spinach and mushroom were too watery and bland that I couldn’t even taste the steak or cheese. The blandness was so overpowering and my bread soaked up all the water like a sponge. Had I chosen a fattier sandwich, I wouldn’t be disappointed. The BBQ one tasted a million times better! I don’t know what I was thinking choosing the spinach and mushroom one. When you go out to eat fatty greasy foods like this, don’t even bother to choose«healthy» toppings because you’re eating fatty foods to begin with. Just go all out fat. The large steak fries were used for garlic fries!!! And that’s something I will continue to order. I also really like how they give out frequent buyer cards, but it’s greasy food so it’s not good to eat here everyday.

This place is one of the very few go to places for when I’m in the mood for cheese steaks. If you’re hungry, I’d suggest you get their ten inch sandwiches because the regular size is fairly small at five inches. Classic is always the best if you’ve never tried this place before. If you’re also into their sides, such as fries, onion rings, etc, go to this place on a Wednesday because it is half off on Wednesday. The cheese steak is pretty good, the meat was cook to perfection and the cheese just was a perfect melt. Other than that, I haven’t tried anything else on the menu but as far as I am concerned, this is a cheese steak shop and cheese steaks is what you should get. It is a small shop but it fits enough people. It is on the far end of the plaza so you might miss it if you don’t look carefully.

okay i lied, this place is actually pretty freakin amazing. ive had it like 3 times since my last update… which was about a month ago. Yes. i decided to give it another try. SOGLAD I DID. I decided to get the 7″ again but this time with both sweet and hot peppers on it. REALLYMAKES A DIFFERENCE. It adds a nice kick to it with the hot peppers and the sweet ones are so good. This the first time ive ever even peppers and it is oh so good. It’s still pretty small for the price, but oh well. LOVELOVE place is still pretty small, but everyone is nice and friendly, love the chairs outside and the sun shining in through the windows. and they have lemons on the side if you want to put them in your water. YESPLEASE!

When I crave Philly cheese steak sandwich, this is the first place I think of. Since my work is really close to this place, it makes it more conveniently to choose this place. One thing that differentiate this joint is their sweet and hot peppers. The bread served is nice and soft. Meat is cooked to perfection along with the melting cheese. They also offer a combo deal where you can get fries(or curly fries) and drinks together, which is a great deal. They offer a wide variety of philly cheese steaks but my fav is the original philly cheese steak. Staffs are really friendly and owners are always attentive and welcoming. Located at a plaza where there is a lot of parking.
