Burrito Bueno

Burrito Bueno is definitely a keeper in my opinion & a place I like to visit when I’m craving good Mexican cuisine. Be sure to check them out if you’re looking for an authentic experience of food, drink & atmosphere. The Margarita’s are hand-​made to order, served in a traditional LARGE Margarita glass & damn tasty. Plus, they’re half price at only $ 3 bucks on Wednesdays. Bonus! But, a half price margarita is no reason to stay away during full price days. They’re still a screaming deal at $ 6 bucks. Their selection of tequila & margaritas rock!
Chips & salsa are served upon arrival. Careful, the spicy homemade salsa will put lead in your pencil! Regardless, the salsa is spot on taste wise while the chips are warm & crispy. Just like fresh made. Burrito Bueno is an amazing little cantina. No gourmet Mexican food her, just the basics done right. The menu is traditional, with tacos, tostadas, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas & plate lunches. You can’t go wrong! The Fiesta fajitas are my go to. A large portion of shrimp, steak & chicken on a sizzling cast iron pan with onions & peppers. Or, try the awesome nachos. A great late night sponge to help soak up my buzz.
The family run restaurant will blow you away with their attentiveness & hospitality. I’ve been here a number of times now & always pleased with their food, drink & service.
Décor is a little dated & in need of a remodel.
The outdoor patio is a great place to kick it when the weather cooperates.

While visiting Milwaukee, my bff suggested this place… don’t let its looks fool you, authentic mexican cuisine and adult beverage specials as well as a lunch buffet all at affordable prices.

Good food. Service can be sketchy. The salsa & chips are delish! If your looking for a place with «elegant» décor this is NOT that spot. If you’re willing to look past the décor you’ll enjoy a good meal.

I love this place, have been coming here for almost 15 years. Their drink specials are great, who can beat $ 3 margaritas on Wednesdays? My favorite thing here is the spicy pork lunch plate, which is slow cooked pork in a *hot* Verde sauce. You can eat it with a fork or roll it up in tortilla shells; either way, it’s amazing. I love their homemade chips and salsa. The salsa is different from your run of the mill pico, it’s more like a picante and is served in a condiment-​tpye squeeze bottle. The Fiesta fajitas are ridiculous; shrimp, steak and chicken (in decent portions) on a sizzling cast iron pan with onions, peppers, etc. I don’t think I’ve ever had anything bad in the numerous times I’ve been here. I don’t give a hoot about the décor, the food and drinks are so good, I’m too busy enjoying my meal to notice.

This place is pretty dated and rough. Blue collar. I was nervous about going in at first because the neighborhood isn’t the best, but it felt safe and comfortable inside.
The chips were either a little stale or a little undercooked. The salsa was different from any I’ve had, more like a spicy smoky salty sauce. Really tasty.
I ordered the chimichanga dinner, one chicken and one shredded beef. Food came out very fast and the chimis were delicious. The beans and «salad» were just meh. The green chili and pork sauce to go on the chimis was amazing!
The wait staff was lovely and the prices were very reasonable. I might skip the platter next time and order a la cart though.
All in all, decent food, great prices, nice people, rough neighborhood, and a restaurant that could use a good makeover with fresh paint and décor. I’ll be back.

I love this place and I’ve been coming here for years and its never disappointing… nachos fajitas and chimichanga are the best.

I’ve been going here since I was a child, they have some awesome authentic food and really friendly wait staff. I love their enchiladas and margaritas. Anytime anyone asks me about Mexican on the north side I tell them to go to Burrito Bueno. This place has fallen in hard times and they’re struggling to stay afloat. It can be easily missed on the busy road but it’s well worth the search.

What a let down. The burrito dinner was bland. The burrito had only meat in it and I mean no beans no nothing. Steak was fatty and had gristle in it. Not a lot of flavor. We had take out for lunch here and I wish I spent $ 10.00 at taco bell instead. I see people like this place but it does nothing for me. I threw away ¾ of the plate because of the fatty gristle meat that turned me off. The red sauce had a taste that I didn’t care for. Who serves a burrito with nothing but meat in it WTF I can do that at home with some bland steak for a couple dollars. Don’t let my review stop you from going they might have some other good stuff on the menu but I will not be back. Two thumbs down for the steak burrito.

Looking for a bargain for a delicious Mexican meal? Check out Burrito Bueno. With $ 3 drink specials, most plates under $ 10, and fajita dinners big enough for two, you’ll feel like a winner when the check arrives. The décor is no frills, with dining room furniture from the 70’s and plastic chairs out on the patio. The complimentary salsa is runny and served in a squirt bottle. But the marinade on their steak fajita is a mouth-​watering delight sure to win over all the beef-​eaters out there.

For Mexican food in and around the milwaukee area, this is the spot! I’m sure you’ve all heard the «big» names in Mexican food in this area and Burrio bueno beats them all hands down. If you like fajitas you must try the fiesta fajitas, out of this world good. Salsa and chips are good and plentiful, and if you have a party or something planned, order the party platter, 50 bucks and it’s enough for about 20 people, you won’t be disappointed.

Great neighborhood Mexican place on the NW side. Consistent good food, very good service, good lunch buffet. You will not be disappointed eating here.
