Everything is delicious at Lucia’s. There has been nothing that I was disappointed by. My recent discovery is their brownies. They will sure to knock your socks off!!!

While I waited for Apple to fix my phone, I wondered around Uptown. I noticed this quaint and charming looking restaurant. I was going to just pass by but as a customer was coming out I asked if they were good? She said yes and said she enjoyed their soup and salad deal with bread for $ 20. I said«that sounds like an expensive Panera Bread», she agreed and then followed up by saying, «its a portion that lasts for like four days» then immediately I said«I think I will have to reconsider and check it out.» As I entered I was greeted by Sophie, she is such a sweetheart. She broke down all the questions I had. I let her know that I was interested in the soup and salad deal. There were three soup options made fresh daily. On my visit there was a choice between the 3 bean vegan chili, tomato and one soup that came with sausage. I chose the 3 bean vegan chili. Sophie explained that the habanero sour cream went along with the chili. The tub of soup was huge. It lasted for literally a week and a half. Sophie also explained that the salted butter was by a local vendor. I got the cracked wheat loaf of bread that they serve complimentary at the tables. Since I love olives I also bought their specialty olives to go along with my salad. The salad was an assortment of leafy greens, and shredded carrots. There was a vinaigrette that also came along with it. As Sophie packed up my order, I told her that I felt like I had just made a trip to the local grocer in a french village. She laughed and said that’s why I love working here it’s so authentic. It was was such a great experience cute and would love to go back when I am in the area. Lets just say that I had a weeks worth of food and everything was delicious! The habanero sour cream with the 3 bean vegan chili was the best ! I need to learn how to make that habanero sour cream for myself!

had breakfast here. haven’t been here in a very long time and now i remember why. eggs were way over done and bacon nearly raw. coffee was a kin to starbucks and paled compare to what can be had at some great coffee shops in the neighborhood. i’ll stick to blackbird from now on as a solid breakfast choice.

Need something quick and tasty while trying to impress your friends? The secret is that you don’t know how to cook but your friends are huge foodies? Lucia’s to Go is the place for you and the coolest part is that everything is local. Lucia’s to Go has a everything from homemade mash potatoes, dinner salads in a bag and even rotisserie chickens for you to take home. You can also buy mass quantities of their salads and soups that they have on hand. My visit was only for a quick lunch. They have a long counter that is filled with many goodies. They have everything from local bread to lemon coconut cake and cookies, to sandwiches and hearty salads. I had the special sandwich of the month. It was turkey with mustard, mayo, sprouts and a tomato. I also asked if they would panini press my sandwich which really made the it. It was really cold out that day so I was craving soup. I added a cup of soup to half my sandwich for $ 4. It was an amazing squash and apple soup. It had a lot of flavor but it wasn’t overwhelming or too thick. The soup comes with a free piece of bread, so make sure you ask because they might forget to give it to you. A recommendations I have is the menu is a little overwhelming. It’s hard to figure out what deals you can get, such as with half a sandwich you can add on a cup of soup for $ 4. I also couldn’t find the deal that my roommate gets which is half a sandwich, salad and a cookie. Lastly, it gets very busy in the very tight area. I would recommend having specific people work at different«stations» rather than one employee helping one customer. It may improve the wait time and the confusion. Overall, my food was really good and I will be back!

Found a new«to go» spot for coffee and the only reason I went their was that I kept hearing about the place. A lot of this could be repetitive to other reviews but Lucia’s is a small, independent, friendly, clean, and organized establishment that just so happens to serve great coffee, awesome desserts, and outstanding sandwiches. The coffee is excellent and the price point is consistent with the«Wall Street Chains» and you serve yourself. The pastries and not mass produced in a supermarket and are simply as other have quoted«to die for». Had a BLT sandwich which was excellent and arrived within minutes. There are a lot of upsides here and the only downside is that the food is a little more expensive than the others, but only by a few dollars. But it is totally worth it.

What happened since it sold? No one knew what came on all the sandwiches at one point the lady helping me started guessing. Do new people not get trained? They used to have a sandwich of the month. It’s just blank on their board. I guess no body came up with one this month? Asked for my to go sandwich hot and was not given to me that way. I’d suggest people’s organic for a far better selection.

Popped in for a quick drink while Uptown and decided to get an iced tea since it was too hot for much else. Tried the flavoured/herbal black tea and it was perfectly brewed in that I didn’t need to sweeten it or anything. Also was surprised to see they had pumpkin cake at this time of year(and without nuts! Thank you!) and I’m a sucker for pumpkin so I had to get a slice. It was outstanding and not at all dry with a cream cheese frosting dusted with nutmeg. Generous square of cake and a medium ice tea was just over $ 6 which is a bit steep(no pun intended) for a café but it was a nice stop to try.

I stopped in for the famous chocolate sea salt cookie that I keep seeing people Unilocal about. It was right at noon duting teh week, so it was pretty busy with the lunch rush but everyone was organized and efficient. There were samples out of homemade peeps and some kind of bread, which were both okay but not great. The cookie was heavenly though. Very good, but probably overpriced for the size of it. I wouldn’t make a special trip back for it, but I did enjoy it very much.

I have test tasted all over the country and Lucia’s is without a doubt my favorite bakery. Hands down. I moved away from Minneapolis 5 years ago and one of the main reasons I fly back to «see family» so often is to get my Lucia’s fill

Lucia’s To Go — the picturesque café that everybody and their mom goes to on the weekends. And for good reason! With plenty of delicious bites and tasty sips, it’s hard to find anything to dislike. Even though I try to avoid venturing to the cluster**** known as Calhoun Square, I usually find myself at LTG eating their goodies and forgetting how many times I uttered«God damn-it, that person just took my parking spot» to myself. On my most recent trip, I stuffed my face with the oh-so-sweet, savory, crunchy, and fleshy Smoked Turkey Sandwich(with cranberry mostarda, pickled apples, cheddar cheese and arugula on our house cracked wheat), which is one of their many hefty sandwiches. In addition, I snagged their crème brulee(which you should ask to be head, BTW). For a café, it’s pretty damn good and has the perfect amount of sweet and consistency to it. Other menu items that you should consider trying: –Rotisserie Organic Chicken with roasted root vegetables and chili lime yogurt. –Brie & Prosciutto with arugula on a baguette. –Any of their pasta salads. Love this place!

We were so happy to come across this bistro. Breads heavenly(bought one to take home) Cozy tables with yummy food. Breakfast items along with lunch and limited dinner entrees. Highly recommend. I especially like they have their own parking. so convenient! cant wait to go back and try the restaurant.

Most everything here is delicious, especially the chocolate biscotti, which is so overloaded with chocolate it practically falls apart when you bite into it(and that is a very good thing). They bake some beautiful bread here, be sure to try it with their soups. The sandwiches are good, and so are the soups. A great place to have an informal bite if you’re in the neighborhood. The only thing I have noticed is that the salads can be a bit oily.

I keep trying to give this place a chance, since it is close and the cozy café vibe. However, the proximity and atmosphere is not worth the price for subpar food and indifferent service. For a prepackaged small sandwich, it cost $ 8+ and tastes blah. Coffee drinks are average. Also, the staff seems aloof and confused. If you don’t mind traversing to Linden Hills, I would recommend café zumbro over this place any day! If you want to stay in uptown for the«uptown experience» this place is perfect: overpriced and overhyped.

When I first tried the place, I had their savory crêpe and it had so much cheese and what looked like 3 leaves of spinach, I felt sickened halfway through. Gruyère is a strong cheese best used in moderation. It made me think the chef had no idea how foods work together. I’ve come back a few more times to try their baked goods and have liked them, but each visit has always disappointed more than the last. Prices are high for products that are ok but not phenomenal. Customer service is painfully slow and outrageously inefficient. It’s rare to see a place where workers mill around, look at you, and then keep ignoring you – even if you’re the only one standing there. If there’s a line, they don’t seem to feel the need to speed their service and I’ve seen a lot of people in line leave in frustration – me included. Lucia’s really needs to consistently train their staff on how customer service works in a restaurant. Greet people, let them know you’ll be with them if you can’t help them right away, speed your current transaction through thoughtfully but quickly – it’s not effin rocket science. I want so badly to like this place and support it, but now every visit just feels like an exercise in irritation and I won’t be coming back.

If you want Iced Coffee that packs a punch and a quick GF treat(Peanut Butter OR Chocolate Walnut Cookie) this is your spot! Also great for a healthy lunch option. I could literally eat Lucias for every meal and be the happiest. The only negative is no free WiFi but it keeps it as a place to snack and relax :)

Got my hair done at Juut and needed food bad. This was conveniently nearby with its own parking lot. Imagine that. I love the whole concept and enjoyed my grilled cheese with pesto and the sea salt caramel cake. Oh my god!!! It was delicious and enough for me to eat over three separate sittings. The tea was alright. I think the food is the star to stick to that and you will be happy.

Oh my heaven! Somewhere along the way, we started ignoring the staple that is Lucia’s in favor of some of the newer, trendier spots. We forgot about its consistency, high quality, and so obviously filled with LOVE food! Enter hungry blustery afternoon. I stopped into Lucia’s to-go. Oddly had never been to the«to-go» side and in fact, wasn’t this the side of the restaurant we once had Mother’s Day brunch in? I digress. There were literally so many good, healthy, delicious, and nutritious things I wanted. I opted for a cup of zucchini and mint(???) soup– yummmmminess! which came with my choice of bread; I chose the focaccia and it had a nice olive oil flavor. This place has every homemade thing envision your domestic self creating when you hear Ina or Nigella describing it. The only difference is you don’t have to do any of the work. Totally in love at the moment. Cheers, Lucia’s. Sorry it took me so long to remember how great you were.

Had the 3 bean chili. Literally had 3 beans in it. It was tomato water and onions. Pretty disappointed… Hoping this is a one time thing cause I usually like Lucia’s. 2 stars for friendly service, but that’s it.

Bottom line: I love it here. This casual counterpart to Lucia’s Restaurant and Wine Bar offers fast, delicious, and relatively cheap meals without scrimping on their overarching tenet of serving high-quality, seasonal, lovingly prepared food. Lucia’s To Go offers a rotating variety of entrees with several sides to choose from, hot and cold salads served by the pound, and crazy-delicious baked goods and sweets. I dare you to escape this place without a scone, giant piece of cake, or at least a cookie in your possession. I DAREYOU. Other things to take a look at: handmade jams/jellies, granola, local honey, etc. Personally, I’m a huge fan of their soups, breads(get a slice of the honey pecan or the dill cottage cheese with your meal), and Asian-influenced salads. But really, you can’t make a bad choice at this place. Note: There is no free wi-fi here, and in my opinion, this is a good thing. Just relax. Put your computer back in your bag, keep your phone in your pocket, and just take a second to drink a cup of coffee and remember that good food should be appreciated without distractions.

Really wonderful salads in the deli case, and awesome baked goods. They’ve also been really helpful with helping me pick pastry assortments for my breakfast club at work. All of the staff is friendly, helpful, and somehow always super smiley! Love it here. Great place to sit down with a paper, some tasty nibbles, and an iced coffee. Also, the maple mustard vinaigrette is amazing. You can even pick up an entire bottle to take home with you, which I definitely suggest.

Best popovers… ever! Eggy, moist and made even better by a pad of butter or spoonful of jelly. This place is always completely packed with people every time I’m there. But, the counter folks do a great job of keeping the line moving. Even though there may be 10 people in between you and your food, you should still be able to get in and out fairly quick. They make huge sandwiches and also have a decent but small deli case of to go items like salmon, asparagus, fruit salad, quinoa. I’d recommend stopping by for breakfast, either in or outside or grabbing a couple high end deli items to go either post Calhoun Square shopping or pre Lake Calhoun canoeing!

This review is for breakfast goodies only. This place has good coffee and super-great pastries to fuel a morning bike ride! I am addicted to their moist, slightly sweet corn muffins or their mini cupcakes. This place is often crowded, with a long line that moves pretty well. Friendly, bustling help and friendly, informal clients. I have shared tables with strangers here when it is packed and too cold to sit outdoors. Sometimes even the outdoor tables get full so we spill over into the sidewalk seats for the Lucia’s sit-down restaurant, offering to move if the seats are needed – but the staff comes out to chase us away. Demerits for that.
