Convenient location in IDS — downtown Minneapolis. Molly is second to none with hair cuts! And Taylor does fantastic coloring as well! I am happy to have found them.

Michelle is the best!!! SO sweet and listens to your ideas, then tells you what she suggests(for your face shape etc…) If you want cute and trendy cut that will get you stopped by people asking WHERE you got your cut… go to Michelle.

I called today to see if I could get in for a trim during lunch, ten minutes later I’m in with Junior Stylist, Dee! For $ 31 she did a great job! This place is interesting. It looks high-end at the entrance but then kind of «Cost Cutter-ish» beyond the front. Another small annoyance is that you can’t add a tip to a credit card, and I never carry a debit card, cash, or a check with me so I have to stop back at another time to drop off the gratuity. All-in-all a great and very convenient experience though, I’ll be back for sure.

I was in town last weekend to see the Mets take on the Twins, and decided that I hate, hate, hated my hair color. While strolling through the Skyway, I wound up here and decided, why not? Megan was my colorist and she did a fantastic job. Going by a picture on my phone, she was able to give me exactly what I was looking for — a rich, multidimensional color and shiny as all get out hair! I should have asked her what formula she used on me, because it’s awesome. I have been getting compliments non-stop since I returned home. Prices were reasonable — $ 66 for a single process on my super long hair — but no blowout without a cut. The blowdry bar was well stocked with product and I had no issues blowing my own hair dry. Definitely recommend!

This is a decent salon. They have lots of magazines to read, which is nice. I’ve never been loyal to a stylist here because they all seem to be pretty good and nice. I just go at whatever time works for me and take who is available. I mainly just get bang trims done here($ 5 or free in between haircuts) because they don’t have any products that are free of artificial perfumes, which I am allergic to. I hated having to bring my own shampoo and conditioner and constantly tell the stylists not to use their styling products because they’d give me a rash. It was a constant issue and not very relaxing. I also stopped getting brow waxes here. The wax job is fine but I hate that they do it over the bowl(hurts your neck so bad!) and they also sometimes will use perfumed lotions and cleansers on your brows = rash. I now prefer to get my brows done at nearby Madison & Co, which is less expensive and just better overall. As a final note, you can’t tip on your credit card so you have to bring cash. So annoying!

After a couple years of searching, I found Michelle here and she is «my stylist»! She’s great! Always a sweet person to chat with, and I look forward to seeing her. She does a great job; I have long, thick, and at times obnoxious hair and she is always very thorough with the the styling and touching up at the end. She makes sure that everything looks good and I never walk out of there without a smile :)

I have visited this location 3 times. I had a great experience every time. The first time was for a color with Zoe, she did a great job and gave me a super high fashion style. I had made the mistake of visiting a fantastic sam’s prior to this, and had some bad high lights! Second time was for a cut, and I just happened to get my hair cut about a week before(again at fantastic sam’s) and I had Kim fix it. She did a really good job and gave me a super chic asymmetrical cut. Third visit, was another assymmetrical cut with a girl named Melinda. Melinda was super friendly and did a great job. She styled my hair and taught me how to style it on my own. There was no pressure to buy products or anything. I would definitely recommend all three of these lovely ladies. And I am definetly done getting my hair done at Fantastic Sams!

I get my haircut with Michelle and shes wonderful! She listens and also gives advice on my hair. She isn’t concerned with getting as many clients in an hour like some stylists. She takes her time and really wants to know you got what you want every haircut. I have very fussy bangs with a crazy cowlick and she does wonders with them. I have 4 friends that go to her and all say they won’t go to anyone else.

Tori cuts. She is my person. Jay colors when I can afford it(cuz’ that’s who Tori sends her mom to see). The people who answer the phones and take all my money are also awesome. Tori has been cutting my hair for 4+ years. My mane is thick, mangy, and occasionally prone to being dry, crusty and straight up nasty. She makes it beautiful, every time. Not just like oh respectable tolerable haircut… but like complete strangers come up to me regularly wanting to know who does my hair. You want that. I know you do. I don’t give her many instructions beyond longer… shorter… She is allowed to do pretty much whatever she wants — my only rule is that when I roll outta bed it’s gotta look hot even when I do nothing to it(btw… i never do anything to it…) She also usually waxes my eyebrows which makes me doubly hot. If you’ve noted my profile picture of me mowing the cheese on a stick — you’ll realize this is no small challenge. I like Jay too! — he has saved me on more than one occasion from brassy brunette hell, but I hate that Rocco charges for color by the amount used. My head is a color sponge and I can’t afford to pay for the amount of liquid my locks are inclined to soak up. My non-brassy recession-loreal from Target is 5.50 a box… hard to compete.(no shame!) Overall, this salon is pretty solid quality and a pretty laid back bunch of people working hard to make other people look good. It can be hit and miss if you pick folks at random — so either go see Tori and Jay because they’re worth it… OR well, no, actually, just go see Tori or Jay. I’m not going to be held responsible if you stray. By the time I pay for cut, color, downtown parking, and brows, and tips… I tend to be in the $ 250+ range. Ouch. All worth it – but times are tough people and there are starving children and executives everywhere. Right now, I’m on an 8 week/cut schedule growing the tresses out but the one thing I won’t compromise on is my Tori-cut for as often as I need it. No one better. I made the mistake once of going somewhere«cheap» and not only did I have to go crawling back to Tori and explain in shame… but, it has taken me over two years to recover from the chop-job disaster. Don’t skimp on the hair-cut. I love this place. 4 years of hot hair and I have no regrets. Except that one girl who dyed my hair black the day before halloween in 06. Disaster. I think she got fired… I digress. If you tell all your friends and my Tori prices go up again, I am going to kick your ass. Seriously, there should be a grandfather clause for the Tori original fans. But — hey, it’s cool. I’m most certainly going straight to heaven for sharing this scoop with you. Happy hair-ing.
