This place is kind of hit or miss. Sometimes I find a bunch of stuff I absolutely«need,» and other times I walk out empty handed. Well, almost empty handed. Because this place has THE best cheap sunglasses collection under the sun. I am constantly losing or breaking sunglasses, so the fact that theyre $ 6 – 10 bucks, and totally aweosme, is just what I’ve always wanted.

I like it here. Not only because it’s a good thrift store, but they’re also incredibly socially conscious and huge supporters of their own neighborhood. I was first drawn in to Lost and Found on a walk back from the MIA — I got caught up in a random sidewalk conversation with one of their employees, who directed me to the«best of the best» in the Eat Street neighborhood — tacos, banh mi, phở, arty hangouts, etc. This guy was obviously familiar with so many of the businesses in the area, and seemed really invested in and proud of the community. I got all inspired by his small business pride, so I decided to take a detour into the store and check things out. If you’re familiar with thrift stores in the city, you’ll kind of get the gist of this place — they have a decent selection of clothing, shoes, and jewelry, and lots of variety in sizes, but be prepared to do some digging or come back frequently to score the best merchandise. I’ll back up Audrey M. in saying that they really do have the BEST sunglasses collection — cheap, stylish, and so many to choose from! I crushed the first pair I bought from them and went immediately back for a replacement since I liked them so much. When you’re checking out, be sure to take a look at their flyers and announcements for Eat Street/Whittier events happening soon(again, with the neighborhood repping!). Apparently they also do clothing alterations, which I have yet to try out… I’ll update once I’ve taken advantage of this service.

Really like this place. I’ve bought a couple of things here by now. Prices are definitely affordable. Like any other thrift store it’s very hit or miss. I’ve bought 2 blazers for under $ 20 and a couple tees for under $ 10. Overall it’s definitely hit or miss with items, but no more so than any other thrift store…

Did you know Lost and Found won the Good Business Award(or some variation of that) for the Whittier neighborhood because they give back so much to the ‘hood? That bumped them up from 3 to 4. I like socially responsible businesses. Tuesdays are 25% off and that’s the time to go. Otherwise, it’s straight up expensive shopping for thrift items there! For the vintage stuff I get it, but some of the stuff, I’m a bit baffled. While I didn’t find anything, I was surprised when I walked in how organized it was. Totally hear Annie D. on her thoughts on the man above. We were greeted when we walked in so it wasn’t as scary but I thought God was speaking to me for a moment until I found the platform where the staff member was sitting.

I wandered in here after noticing it for the first time yesterday. Sadly, there wasn’t much in the way of vintage, aside from shoulder-pad laden jackets and ugly t shirts that should have stayed in the 80s. The few older items I found were way overpriced, and the whole place was kind of dingy. I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon.

I try and I try, but I just can’t get behind this store. I’d browsed occasionally when they first opened, but never found anything I liked in their very ‘90s-heavy merch. The selection seems to favor men over women too. Then last year, I found the perfect skirt here for my Mary Poppins Halloween costume… and it was $ 40. $ 40 for a thrifted skirt(not even vintage). I was already late for that night’s party, so I ended up buying it and regretting it, even though my costume rocked. The two stars come from that clutch find, even though knowing I could have found the same skirt for $ 5 somewhere else was hard. Ever since that trip, I hadn’t been back because I was just annoyed that such a lackluster shop could be less than two blocks from one of THE best vintage shops in town(Blacklist). A couple of weeks ago, I thought I’d try again. I walked in to a very quiet store to find one person standing in the front, expressionless(I thought he worked there at first, but he was just waiting for someone). There were no employees in sight, but I browsed. As was looking for a mirror to try on a couple of coats(cuter on the rack, but the selection was a tiny bit better than I remembered), and then heard this voice from above, like God, «There’s a mirror over there.» WHUT?! There was a dude sitting up on this palpate of a desk. In another situation(say, he had said hello when I walked in), it might have been cool… but this was kind of unnerving to notice 10 minutes in. I know you guys have some other things going on(art, music, etc.), but when your lone customer walks through the door, please come down from such great heights and help them out face-to-face. It would greatly improve the experience.

I was looking for a few specific items. The owner was more than helpful, scouring the basement for the jacket I was looking for. Not only did he find it but gave me a great deal as well. Super friendly, organized and clean. Good music as well:) out if the 10 other stores I visited this was by far the best.

I first got introduced to Lost and Found when their music came blaring into my apartment. I got all cranky until I realized it was a live band for their opening party. Then all of a sudden it was like«hey, free concert!» And after that I had to check them out. The store is the younger hipper brother of your average thrift store. It’s a smaller space but the selection is presorted for retro cool. If you need to dig through piles of junk looking for that low priced treasure, this isn’t your place. If you don’t mind paying Target prices for some fun stuff check it out. I’ve been here twice and both times enjoyed poking around. I saw clothes, shoes, magazines, records, and local handmade jewelry.(They had this neat jewelry made out of pop tabs last time I was there.) I spotted a vintage 80’s shirt that I still want, but it wasn’t my size. My friend scored a t-shirt though. I just wish they had more plus sizes.

What I like: location, aforementioned«chill» atmosphere, on-site alterations, lots of men’s stuff, nice hats What I don’t like: weak selection of women’s stuff, lack of diversity in terms of eras of clothes(heavy on the ‘90s, which is great for some, not so great for others) My general take, you can go to Savers or Salvation Army and easily find a lot of that you’ll see at Lost & Found and spend less. However, if digging through a ton of racks isn’t your thing, then Lost & Found might be just the thrift-ish store for you.

I visited this new thrift store on the block and have say I was surprised by their unique collection of clothing. The shoes are the most expensive items in the store but many are vintage or designer so its fair. This place is still getting its feet off the ground so their selection will surely grow. Although its important to note that I walked out with a $ 15 vintage dress. The store already has charm. The dressing rooms have shower curtain doors and the store is run by some dudes who look like my brothers. A good sign for success if you ask me.

I was just lucky enough to get to this store’s grand opening and I must say I was really impressed. Not only was the space clean, airy and bright, it also doesn’t wreak of grandma’s closet. For anyone who loves to go thrifting, this may be one of your new favorite spots. Most of the items I looked at were unique and original. You’re not going to see anyone else wearing these digs around the lakes this summer.
