I can totally back up the rude student thing. I used to work there and it was ridiculous. They wouldn’t let me do my homework during finals when there was nothing to do, and told me not to come back the next semester. Eff them. And yeah, they overcharge for books, that’s why other bookstores are always opening around campus trying to compete with them. Anything’s better than the University bookstore. Amazon is definitely the way to go. Any teacher would respect your decision to save money, I’d hope. Most of the teachers I had recommended doing that, actually.

The University of Minnesota Bookstore has been screwing over the student body population for years. I’ve attended the University for 4 years now and every year it’s the same old bullshit. Textbooks for classes offered at the University are often only found monopolized here, in which prices are skyrocketed for the University’s profit. DONOT, I REPEAT, DONOT sign up for their textbook rental program. I made the mistake of doing so and they refused to accept my rented textbook because it had VERYMINOR water-damage on the index pages in the back of a book that otherwise is in pristine condition. They charged me for the remaining value of the original textbook price: I ended up paying an additional $ 95(with the original $ 75 charge for renting). I suggest you find out what your textbooks are required for your classes and order them off Amazon or rent them from an online textbook rental company such as . Bad business ethics. Overpriced. And rude student employees.
