Great Persian food. We used the Cathering service for the first time in January and then again in February. The food was great, the service and delivery were exceptional. My guests were impressed by the cupcake Tahchin, the pomegranate Kofteh and the elegant presentation by the Cathering staff. The food was delivered on time. A pleasent experience from meeting the manager, placing the orders, and the delivery and the set up. I would use Bahar for all my gatherings, and would recommend it to everyone. Saman

Chicken or beef kabob wrapped in Persian bread, inside grilled tomato and herbs and comes with a soda for $ 5.99. This is what u can get ever weekend outside the store. Smell of the NBA smoke and it taste great. I have to try out other food at the restaurant later but weekend lunch is great.

Good food, good service. Only reason I give 4 stars is because this place feels like a warehouse and they should remodel and clean it up. Come on manager or owner spend some money and make this place look better

My only complaint is their service. They have great food but unfortunately I see the same servers and they are all super slow and have very rude attitudes. I do not care how great the food is, I do not appreciate spending money to be treated like a bother to their wait staff. It almost makes me not want to come here– from being seated slowly, not being given bread or have your drink order taken quickly, to your food being out very late. They seem very disinterested in you when engaging and always look miserable. It seems like they have recently raised the prices of multiple things and the portions of rice and other sides are shrinking. They also charged me extra for another tomato on the side of my plate. Basically, good food but consistently bad experiences coming here.

Good Persian food right in the middle of MV. A view of the Valley, and traditional food in a casual environment.

Solid Persian restaurant in the side of Crown Valley market. We have been here many times for dinner and take out. The food is good, but not the best in the area. A big plus is that they actually do pick up the phone and speak English, as opposed to another Mission Viejo Persian restaurant that actually has better food but much worse service. Nice view of Ladera Ranch in the back.

this has to be the most overrated place in the world 1. first off, the place has horrible service. if you ask for a straw or a plate, the waiter gives you an attitude and delays until your about to leave the stinking place!!! 2. the food is almost soap-like, in the sense that it is very undercooked, and contains almost no salt. the dressing and the salad is to vomit for!!! 3. due to these reasons i have decided to go to either hatam or mission ranch, anything is better than that place.

Bahar is one of the best Persian restaurants in Orange County. Their food is always fresh and tastes amazing. Their filet mignon kabob(Barg) is the best in OC. They also do a great job with their take out service. Make sure to call about 30 minutes before you go and pick up. Bön Appetite!

Iranian Cuisine, the Eggplant Plate is really good, and weekends BBQ by the Market is absolutely delicious.

All the meal they offer are amazing, I’ve been coming here for the past year and I am always impressed with the quality of service and the food. Their rice they make is just unbelievable, their meat is very juicy. On Saturdays and Sundays, they place the grille in front of the shop and you can smell the meat from far away. This place has great Persian food, I would advise on Koobedeh Kabab

This was my first visit after year and half. Starting from the entrance, dirty carpet(practically dirt black) the same as the carpet in the elevator. The whole place needs a great deal of attention. The take away kabob was dry and tasteless. Looked as though it was cooked before and microwaved for the«to go food« The owner and management should be ashamed of running a place like this. Money is not everything, please have some respect to the notion of Persian food being one of the best cuisines. If you can’t run a restaurant that the Iranians and the Persian food deserves, please don’t and have a professional group run it! D.H

Decided to try something different for lunch. A friend of mine recommended this place. The restaurant is located above a huge Persian market. You can enter on the side of the building or through the market itself. Started off with the Noon Taftoon(bread) and a side of hummus. Loved the hummus, the bread was average but it was still good. I ordered the boneless chicken kabob. The chicken was cooked to perfection, came with tomatoes, onions, green peppers and a side of rice. All very tasty The inside of the restaurant is nothing to write home about unless you live in a hut in the wilderness. Desserts looked very inviting but I did not try any of them.

Great Food, Horrible customer service… They’re cleaning the floor and cleaning dust right now as I am eating my food RIGHTINFRONTOFME… I’ve been coming to Bahar for 7 years only cause of the food… They don’t respect you as a customer but they expect tip!!! … Their food however is really good comparing to caspian and other Persian restaurants… They also overcharge the amount of yogurt(maast khiar), they put a small amount and charge you an unfair price… I am a yogurt lover and I never can finish my persian dish with the right amount of yogurt… I can’t believe the owner is so cheap about it… They also don’t let you sample the pastries or cookies… I come here for so long and last time my mom wanted to sample a cookie to see if she likes it before ordering it, the manager straight up said I cant give you a sample!!! I mean how can you act so cheap about a small cookie… Specially so rudely to an old woman??? Wow… i don’t think there is any policy anywhere in USA against giving a small sample in a bakery or restaurant… Are you gonna lose money off a sample? I am speechless… Oh and the fact that they clean the floor and and dust in front of you and you have to observe the dust flying in the air makes this restaurant a disgusting place to eat! We just complained and all they said was«sorry»… And that was it… No manager came to apologize… I am so sorry for the owner of this place… He cares about money more than customer satisfaction…

Our lunch was delicious. My colleagues and I had the boneless chicken kabob and tachin. Tachin was cooked to perfection and the right amount of barberries. Not many places in the OC make it and this is one of the best in town. The complimentary shirazi salad went nicely with dish and lemon juice was just enough. We finished our meal with some persian tea and zoolbia/bahmieh. Great service and wonderful ambiance. Everything came out on time. They have recently remodeled the interior to a modern rustic look. Will be back again with my coworkers. Thank you Bahar for the perfect lunch.

Went for lunch, it was pretty packed. Over the grocery store. It was nice, clean. Staff was nice, but very busy as they had an event. A little pricey, but the chicken kabob and beef koobideh was super moist, and flavorful. The rice was awesome. I guess they have a meal lunch deal on Wednesdays… will have to go by and see! I will be going back.

This place was recommended to me by my good Persian friend, Sahand. It is now one of my favorite Persian restaurant in SoCal. Whenever I am in the area, I dine here or I will make a pit stop just to order for take away. Love them koobidehs, chicken and beef. Also will shop downstair for good desserts to go. Always ask for Maast-o Khiar to accompany my meat. Happy chow, hope to see fellow Unilocalers here.

Delicious Persian food with very friendly staff. We had the lamb shank & lima bean green rice, both were cooked perfectly & just delicious. The shirazi salad was so fresh & tasty. Service was great & the place is clean. We also ordered a Persian kabab sandwich wrapped in Lavash bread to take for a friend. He loved it. Very good Persian restaurant & very reasonable.

Bahar is a good restaurant for Persian food that is really convenient in how close it is to Ladera Ranch. The restaurant is on top of a market and you enter through a side door to get to it. The food is very good and reasonably priced for the size of the portion. I normally get one of the beef kabobs(Shish or Barg depending on my mood) and the beef is always tender and full of flavor for either of them. They meals come on a large plate that is filled with a ton of rice. Between the beef and the rice, I never leave hungry and I don’t think I have ever finished all of the rice. Before the meal they serve this really neat warm flatbread. It is also very good and they give the table plenty. Will I go back? Yes. The food and service are both good. It is at least an ‘A-OK’ place to go get a meal around Ladera when you don’t want to drive too far. If I could give it another half star, I would.
