I love this place. I work in mission and it’s a great place for lunch. The service is usually good. The food is very good. The salsa grill dip is amazing. The salsa is amazing. The owner is always there working right along with his staff. He buses tables, sits people, brings out orders. Just very helpful to keep his place running smooth. Try it!

This seems like a solid choice if you’re looking for a local, easy place for a meal. Caveat: I went to Salsa Grill after the Royals’ Championship Parade downtown, and it was PACKED. So while the service seemed like it would be good it was hard to get a true sense of it with so many people. I’d recommend the Salsa Grill Dip(white queso/espinaca dip), and the fajita quesadilla. The downside to the quesadilla was that I ordered steak, but it came with chicken. I liked the chicken, it just wasn’t what I was expecting. Like I said, though, it was super busy so I didn’t mind the mix-up. The soft tacos were normal, but the crunchy tacos(which I only saw on the plates down the bar, not ours) were the kind of taco shells that comes out of the box from the grocery store. I prefer crunchy tacos baked or friend in house from corn tortillas(not that hard). So –1 for the taco shells. Sides: I tried the refried beans and the fideo(pasta). The refried beans were fine, but were pretty bland. Adding some of their medium salsa helped some. I tried the fideo after reading some previous reviews and at the bar tenders suggestion. I probably wouldn’t get it again though — the sauce that it’s in took me straight back to my childhood memory of eating spaghetti-os with a babysitter. Bottom line: I’ll go back again(especially with the free Salsa Grill Dip coupon that came in the Mission magazine), because it’s convenient and welcoming. The food was somewhere on the scale from mediocre to good, but with their specials and location, sometimes it’s too easy to pass up!
