The Vitamin Shoppe

I come here for all my protein needs and supplements. I had been told about the protein cookies from the Elk Grove store and have been in love with them ever since.
Recently, having a lot of appointments in Modesto, this is my go to store to refill my snack needs. I was here yesterday, and got some great help in finding delicious protein bars. OhYeah! is my new favorite. I have yet to try the drinks I picked up, but look forward to them nonetheless. This is also a great place to pick up Isopure drinks. I don’t always find them at our local health store (the flavor I want that is), so this is a good alternative.
I stopped in today. The same gentleman that helped me out yesterday was there today, but busy. Grabbed what I wanted and stood in line. Now, this is the reason for the –1 star. The older woman, with lined lips, saw me standing in line, but overlooked me to take the guy that got directly being the man finishing with his transaction. When my mother spoke up, she just replied coolly with; «That register is broken, I will help you next.» The joker didn’t need to be that way, and seeing as she had seen me waiting, customer service like that just reflects poorly on a place that I know is not often like that. With that, I put my items back where I got them, yes I could of easily left them wherever, but I put them back and left. I didn’t need to waste my time waiting and my money on service like that.
I’ll go back in and continue to make my purchases, but I just didn’t appreciate the service today, when I usually get very good customer service.

This is my new go-​to place for my supplements. The employees are always helpful and eager to work for the customer. I love the abundance of supplements the store has. Glad I found this place. I normally don’t go to huge chain stores like this, but this particular store had me at «hello» LOL! Come check these guys out. Stay swole my friends!

I LOVE THIS SHOP! I went from supplement store to supplement store trying to find a store that I can call a third home (my house and the gym being 1 and 2). I went from Max Muscle, to GNC, to Total Nutrition until I finally went to the Vitamin Shoppe and I was verrrrrrrrry pleased! The supplements are all named brand and at great prices + promotions! The workers wont bug you to buy anything. Theyre always waiting to give assistance! The manager is a really cool guy! Not going anywhere else to get my protein fix!

Most stuff are too expensive. They have a nice staff to help you find stuff.

Good place to pop into in my hood for my vitamin needs. Was a little annoyed that some of their merchandising didn’t make sense but overall it was ok.
I guess at the time they were having a health fair so that included having some hotties from In Shape Gyms roaming around the store trying to get recruits. Unfortunately these hard bodies and they’re good looks made me feel like the Pillsbury Doughboy in the worst way. I know people have to start somewhere but geez, PRESSURE!
The checkout was quick and the staff were nice which was helpful since I wanted to get the heck out of there before they made me drink the protein juice or worse!

Great selection. I found that prices are slightly higher than those on the internet, but that is to be expected. The supplement I purchased was $ 5 more than internet price (hence only 4 star rating), but at least I was able to get it right away and did not have to wait for delivery. Also, I was able to talk to someone face-​to-​face about the product. Josh, the manager was knowledgeable. He recommended a PGX appetite suppressant supplement which worked amazingly well. It did what it was supposed to do! Thank you Josh! It’s such a breath of fresh air to be able to talk to somone that knows about the product you’re interested in buying.

They have all the health products vitamin stores have I prefer the mom and pop stores we have here locally

This place is ok. Have done business with them a few times. One problem I have is that I ordered a product that only they have. Thank god I didn’t pay for it in advance. That product has been on back order now for about 2 months so I have cancelled the order and ordered it online which is what I should have done in the first place.

I like this place better than GNC. They have more products and prices are competitive. I like to come for my greens.

Okay, so… The store is very tidy, put together well, isles are spaced apart enough so that your not doing any unwanted physical contact. Great selection great prices… or are they great prices???
Now, I am what you would call a cheap bastard! I don’t want to spend my meager earnings on supplements, I’d rather save the $$$ for beer,. But seriously, if you go online to their web site they have «On-​line Only Specials», for instance, Animal-​Pak 44 count vitamins online are $ 24.99 in store, $ 44…(only an example, not sure on the exact numbers here). I always, ALWAYS have to ask someone in there, why the heck would I come into the store when I can pay $ 20 less on-​line??? Well, the kicker here is they won’t offer anything up to you, but they have that computer right behind them for a reason! Every time, I asked them to match that price, so they jump on to the computer, look at the on-​line price and match it. and EVERYTIME I get the «We are not suppose to do this» spill. blah blah blah, if you want my business you will, i’d gladly wait 3 – 4 days for $ 20 cheaper!
I go with tried and true, so I usually only go in for the few name brands, have yet to try the store labeled brands, which always seem to be on sale and at a good rate.
Also, what is UP with the parking here??? I see noone in the surrounding shops yet there is NEVER any parking up close. I don’t mind walking but I keep wondering where the hell are the people that belong to these cars???

Great store with an extensive selection of vitamins and nutritional supplements. Helpful, friendly staff who usually know where specific items are located. They carry a lot of major brands and some obscure ones as well. Vitamin shoppe is the only place I can find an enteric-​coated, mercury free fish oil-​it doesn’t give you the disgusting fish burps that the others can. They carry all the EAS products for the Body for Life program as well.
Plus they have a rewards program to earn store credit.
Another great thing is you can bring anything back if you don’t like it. Seriously, you can practically use the whole container and they will let you exchange it for something else. I love that policy.
