Great food and a refreshingly nice atmosphere. Have been a couple of times for dinner only. The menu is great filled with many healthy high quality ingredients. The petit salad is fantastic. I have had the duck which is awesome and the rice beans and eggs which is very flavorful with the chorizo. My wife had the salmon which is really delicious as well. Have nit trued any if the deserts but i bet they are great. Best bolinho de bacalao i have had.

Thoroughly impressed with my brunch today! Gorgeous fluffy eggs, goat cheese on multigrain and an innovative sweet potato /beet hash. Portion size was surprisingly satisfying for such a quaint little place. We forgot to order our fresh juice but couldn’t have squeezed it in anyway.

The Portuguese French toast was delicious, unique, and very rich. The café au lait was good stuff. My companions enjoyed their food– the grilled cheese, lamb sausage, and eggs with sweet potato veggie hash. My only check mark against them was that it was chilly inside on a cold day, and the lipstick stain I saw on my brother’s coffee cup, caught at the end of our meal… And no, he doesn’t wear lipstick ;) I would come back and try more.

I definitely like this restaurant for brunch. Have been a bunch of times and will probably keep going back. The only down side of Le Salbuen is that you WILL leave smelling like the restaurant. Don’t say I didn’t warn you ;). But that’s what happens when you want an authentic kitchen/restaurant feel.

Place is small and intimate. Make reservations. Food and service was excellent. Glad to find a place that is health conscious but also make really great food.

This tiny café has so much character with an environment that makes you feel at home. The quality of the food is exceptional with their organic ingredients and baked goods from Balthazar. I ordered the Kennett Square Local Market Omelette filled with gruyère cheese and mushrooms. It was delicious and the petite salad on the side was a nice contrast. I also ordered the Gluten Free Pancakes on their specials menu which were made out of almond milk, coconut milk, and agave. Amazing! Overall, I had a good experience here. The waitress was very attentive and the service was prompt. I will definitely be coming back!

I was born in Paris, France and I must say this restaurant not only captures the chic elegance and ambiance of many quaint European hole in the wall restaurants the quality and service is equivalent. I yet to have had experienced a disappointment. The chef and owner is amazing a creating and keeping the menu fresh and pleasing the costumers to check in on their experience. On my last visit I had the Rabbit pot pie and it tasted like my grandmother made it. I am truly a fan, I could keep going but I will leave this simple. In all honesty this place deserves an encore… BRAVO!

So yummy! Went here for brunch and had a difficult time deciding what to order because everything sounded so good. I finally decided to get the Short Rib Omelet Special. I am so glad I did! The omelet was chock full of tender short ribs and the perfectly cooked fingerling potato cubes were delightfully smothered in a savory sweet short rib reduction. We also tried the Croque Monsieur Empanada which was a fun twist on a classic. Finally the sea salt caramel latte was incredible! All in all a great brunch spot with unique and creative fare. We will definitely be back.

Three words: Rabbit Pot Pie. Perfectly seasoned, delicate and savory. I’d have it every day if I could. This place is tiny so be prepared for close quarters. Can’t wait to go back.

The food at Le Salbuen is perfection. We’ve been here multiple times and have yet to be disappointed. The last time we were there, however, we had a server who seemed to be having a very hard time listening carefully to orders. He completely misunderstood my friend’s order — who had come all the way from NYC for the buttermilk pancakes and then initially didn’t get the pancakes. And when my eggs arrived, they were extremely runny after I asked for them scrambled, well done. I hate sending things back but when people are specific and polite, it’s not their fault that you misheard. Multiple interactions with this waiter were confusing and I left with a very strange feeling that we were looked at as the offenders in the situation. I imagine that perhaps when a table has two dishes with problems — one that is sent back and another that is omitted completely from the order — that you’d send someone else to check in with the table and smooth things over. We were very happy with the food and ambiance but the service left something to be desired. Hoping it won’t be like this on future visits.

Great little café! Came here with my parents for brunch. They had a great menu selection — it took me a while to decide. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options too. Loved the goat cheese here. We tried a bunch of different wraps and croissants. Everything was really good. Place is really small and a bit cramped but I liked the ambiance nonetheless. Friendly service.

Came here for brunch with a group of friends and had a good experience. Its BYOB and limited outdoor seating which we took advantage of. I ordered the breakfast burrito. It was good, but nothing outstanding. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal for what it was. Service was decent.

Big fan of this place. Ambiance and food are A+. I came here twice for a late brunch. Both times I ate outside. The first time around I ordered the Chicken Sandwich. It was yummy, but not out of this world. I did taste the pork burger and that rocked big time. The second time around I ordered off the specials menu, Short Rib Omelette. Wow that was amazing!!! Much larger portion that what you would expect for a little classy café like Le Salbuen. It was so yummy. The eggs were perfect and the diced potatoes had this meaty rib sauce that was so freakin delicious. My guy ordered the Harvest Wrap, which was tasty, but let’s just say I won this round of ordering…

I thought I wrote a review after my first time at Le Salbuen but apparently I forgot to. The initial experience was 5 stars worthy. Fantastic service and delicious food. I had some kind of brie plate to start of with(not sure if this is still on the menu). It came with a pretty big slice of brie, some delicious jam(quince paste I think), some fruits and nuts, and a warm piece of bread that also had fruits and nuts in it. This was a great way to start my meal and everything was excellent. Then I got the braised duck with quinoa and it was amazing. The duck was perfectly cooked and fell apart since it was slow cooked, the cranberries(I think) and eggplant went really well with the quinoa, and the flavors were phenomenal. Went back again and the experience was a little less positive. The server took a slow glance at his watch(granted it was about 20 minutes before their afternoon break of 3 when they close for a couple of hours) and I got the message so I ordered to go. The cashier was still really warm and friendly and so was the person who packed my food. I ordered the braised duck and quinoa again since it was awesome the first time but it was not nearly as good. The main issue was that it significantly lacked salt. I don’t normally add much salt to my food but this was extremely noticeable and really took away from the dish. They have several more interesting items on the menu– the pork bacon burger, duck tacos, pappardella have caught my eye in particular, but everything sounds good. I do think their lunch menu sounds a bit more appealing than their dinner menu(some items overlap but not all). I definitely recommend checking out Le Salbuen as both the food and atmosphere are great.

Updated my review to 5 stars because I loved it so much Monday thay I went back today and multiple things happened: * found out my waitresses name, Carla(sp) * the waitress thst was there tonight, Brielle(sp) also a doll! * John the Chef, is amazing. It was watching live food porn seeing him prepare a dessert I didn’t know they carried which is an orange something bread pudding(I forget the exact name) but it looked amazing. * They also gifted me a free organic peanut butter brownie fudge since I had paid the rest and ordered that last, and John said it was for the great review! How freaking sweet are they? And he and his wife used to bodybuild? I’m in love. GOHERE.

5 Stars. Do you really want to read this review? It might be long. Just go there, enjoy the ambience and good customer service and place your order. Your order gets to your table very soon, and it will look so delicious that salivating is an understatement Great location in a decent corner with great ambience. We didn’t sit outside because it was chilly then, but next time we will. Customer service was on point, and the waitress was very courteous. We didn’t feel rushed, our order arrived promptly, and it was all we expected. When it time to leave, we were tempted to order more, but we saved that thought for another time. This is if the places you go and want to go again; its unique in aroma and delicacy. The vibe is just right. You can go alone or go with some friends and loved ones. We recommend.

I went to Le Salbuen for breakfast since it’s so close to my place and I absolutely loved it. First off, all the waitresses are dressed with matching outfits made them resemble Rosie the Riveter which was pretty cute/different. As for the food, I ordered a salmon, scrambled eggs, and toast. I can’t remember the name, I’m sorry! Just know, that it was delicious! Bottom line: Although the place is pretty small, the food is worth waiting for!

Hidden gems like Le Salbuen are why I use Unilocal. At first glance, I was captivated by the positive reviews, and then further intrigued by the menu and hunger-inducing pictures. So when we arrived here for Saturday brunch, I had a somewhat high expectation and an equally intense appetite waiting to be fulfilled. A look at the ambiance and a more in-depth study of the menu reassured me that this was the right choice. I decided on the Balthazar brioche French Toast, and… let me first share a back story. Several years ago, I had a Challah French Toast at Blue Ribbon Bakery in NY that completely revolutionized the way I thought about French Toasts. I thought I would never find its equivalent. The day I tried Le Salbuen’s version, I can say its brioche French Toast is among the ranks of that last glorious encounter. The latte was a good ending. But 5 stars for that French Toast alone!
