So this place is now called ME Restaurant. It’s located on the second floor above Hong Kong Supermarket. In any case, I didn’t try their seafood hot pot buffet(basically it’s raw seafood, other hot pot items, laid out buffett style, and you go pick it out yourself). I was really craving Fuzhou food, so I decided to try their Fuzhou appetizers — they have the standard authentic(if you are from NYC Chinatown) Fuzhou stuff — fish balls, yan wan, oyster cake, etc. You can’t get much more ethnic than that. So I got their Fuzhou(Foochow) rice cake soup, and it’s pretty good! It had clams in it and very good flavored soup. Great if you’re Fujianese and craving a taste of home. If you’re not Fujianese… it may be a little too authentically homey for you. The surroundings are a bit rundown. This is the only place I know of that serves variety Fuzhou stuff like this — there’s the Fuzhou place near the MP Post office, but they only serve fish balls, not the other stuff like rice cake with seafood soup.

$ 14.99 all you can eat seafood buffet. soup base(had half spicy, half not spicy) wasn’t awful but we have had better. had frozen meat, crab, imitation crab, shrimp, stuffed fish balls and pretty much most things you expect for hot pot, including vege’s. Kind of pricey for frozen foods. They also charged an extra $ 2 for using the gas stove without telling us — I guess next time either we bring our own gas stove from home or just eat the the hot pot foods frozen!!! Oh well, if anyone knows of any other all you can eat hotpot place, please let me know!!! What was annoying about this place is that they had a little fold up bed at the corner – but very visible to the customers – where a 5 year old boy was sleeping, but whom later woke up and started screaming/whining VERY loudly. Made me feel like I was back in China…
