Groucho’s Deli Mooresville

Overpriced mediocre food and horrible atmosphere. Was excited about maybe a good deli opening nearby but this is definitely not it.

Family of 4 ate dinner here for just under $ 30. Staff was friendly and happy to answer our questions. Sandwiches were average and only chips available– no fries or etc.
The bread is average, typical for the South. We wanted to try the ‘special ’ sauce but had to repeatedly ask for it. Kids menu is very basic.
Clean, friendly, fast. We will go back sometime in the future.

1. Pita pocket: turkey and pastrami with cheddar, tomatoes, lettuce with water for 9.95. Asked for without cucumber but my food came with cucumber.

Good, not great. But it’s on par with what I expect from restaurants in Mooresville. Being from New York I have much higher standard than Mooresville deli’s provide.
I got the STP on recommendation from the staff. Turkey and roast beef was served on a mediocre sub roll with no veggies to be found (shame on me for not asking what was on it) all blanketed with too much cheese. Formula 45 sauce was just thousand island sauce that was too sweet for my taste.
I won’t be back.

I realize that 5 stars is a lot to award a small scale sandwich shop. There’s nothing fancy or terribly original. You’re not going to find a pretentious organic menu with a variety of toppings you can’t even spell. What you will find are very fresh breads, meats, cheeses all done extremely well in slightly new spins. It’s not your generic subway where you assemble a sandwich with mediocre meat-​like products from behind a sneeze guard.
They have a set menu of sandwiches and salads. My personal favorite is the baby sub which is stuffed with ham and herbed slaw. They have house dressings like honey mustard and their special ‘formula’ sauces. Realistically the formula 45 is probably some concoction of chopped dill, ranch mix and ketchup along with some other simple ingredients including magic because let me be real here when I say that whatever it is, I would eat that shit on anything despite what’s in it.
The prices are fair. The service is great. The menu is perfect and not overly complicated and it’s been consistent in quality.
My only issue, is that the sandwiches are often times so overloaded with meat/​cheese that I end up wearing half of my meal before I leave. Adult bibs are definitely recommended.

Good people. Good food. This is a smaller scale «chain» sub shop that also boasts table service. They have a great selection of food that is fresh made. Our first visit with Groucho’s was in Statesville. And now we have the pleasure of having them in Downtown Mooresville. A definite plus I’m the food department for a much needed area. Oh and they have plenty of parking!
