Silva Custom Construction

Several years ago Sean with Silva Custom Construction bid on a kitchen project and, although he was competitive, we went with the lowest bid. Unfortunately we ended up getting what we paid for. More recently, we purchased a new home and underwent a significant remodel and were lucky that Sean had availability. Sean was very competitive with his bid and we’re glad we decided to go with Silva Custom Construction this time around.
Sean and his guys are great! His demeanor is very even-​keel. Even during stressful situations (which will happen with every remodel) he was always very calm and would assure us that all would be fine. His guys were also very professional and would always go the extra mile to accommodate our requests and make sure our vision was reached. The other thing I really like about Silva Custom was how every piece of the project was itemized. His bid was very clear and we knew exactly how much was due and when it was due. Any time there was a change Sean made sure to send updates to the bid so there were never surprises with regard to what we owed. When spending a significant amount of $$, it’s always good to know exactly where things stand.
As many people probably do, we watched a lot of HGTV and had a lot of design ideas as a result. Sean was very much up to date with current styles and trends, with a great sense of how to bring our ideas to life (or manage expectations when visions may not have been realistic). You don’t necessarily get this with all GC’s. He was also able to direct us to vendors he trusted and we were happy with all (his cabinet vendor was also very good). We would highly recommend Sean to anyone and would absolutely use him again!

Silva Custom Construction is the most professional, organized and honest construction crew I have ever worked with. Sean and his team are extremely talented at what they do and go the extra mile to provide quality craftsmanship that lives up to the customer’s expectations. His crew was very thorough and prepared each day they arrived on site. They picked up after themselves and were friendly to myself and my family. SCC not only finished the job on time but also within budget which says so much about their integrity & customer service. Sean is the first general contractor we’ve ever hired and he did a great job on our kitchen. He is very laid back and easygoing but stayed on top of our job. We saw him several times over the course of the project checking on the work of his sub-​contractors. It’s my understanding that this isn’t always the case with general contractors. He also did quite a bit of the work himself, building the box for the vent pipe over our stove and adding the decorative elements to our front door.
The people he got to work on our floor did an amazing job. They took a very rough sketch done by the tile store people and, with a few respectful suggestions, turned it into a fantastic kitchen (and entryway) floor. They did a good job on ripping out the old floor and cleaned up their mess at the end of every day. They put a protective surface down on the path they used to/​from our door.
The electricians were top notch. They worked around our schedule and actually stayed late one night, with our ok, to finish early. We have twice as many lights in our kitchen and light switches that actually turn on the lights you expect them to now.
The plumbers were also great although the «assistant» did most of the work. He also managed to wedge our new dishwasher into place after a scare that it wouldn’t fit. That would have been a disaster because being able to change the dishwasher was sort of the impetus for the whole remodel in the first place.
We had some trouble with the countertop company and door company (we had our front door replaced as well) that Sean sent us to but he was very apologetic and personally made everything right that they did wrong. As is typical, there were issues and delays but overall Sean communicated them to us clearly. We appreciated this as my husband was working from home while they were here and it allowed him to go in to work on days he knew they wouldn’t be here.
Overall we were very happy with the work Sean did and would hire him again, maybe when it’s time to do our bathrooms. :-)

SCC was instrumental in helping us design and construct the remodel of our kitchen. With their help, our kitchen transformed from a 1970’s original (think plastic cupboard doors and a kitchen without ONE drawer) – to a stylish, contemporary, and functional dream kitchen. SCC had great construction tips and design ideas– like a adding pot filler above the stove (a must for anyone who cans and preserves like we do) to the ideal placement of the canned lighting to illuminate the kitchen in just the right places for cooking and entertaining. Another huge benefit was that SCC connected us with great vendors for the cabinets and the granite purchase and installation.

Sean and his crew re-​did my entire upper floor, which included a kitchen, great room and hard wood floors. They also installed new Milgard windows and doors throughout my home.
Sean was always available for contact before/​after the construction projects. His prices were great, well explained and his crew were polite and professional.
Most importantly, Sean finished all his projects within budget and his projected completion date.
When money allows, I will definitely hire Silva Construction again.

Silva Custom Construction does thorough work. They have done a couple of projects for my wife and me, and on both occasions they courteously explained the work to be done, presented great prices for materials, and finished on time (including immaculate clean-​up).

Sean (the owner) is a great guy. He has a great crew, too. Sean’s attention to detail and suggestions to our project really brought it all together. He worked to get the job done on time and respected our need to ‘live’ through the process.
