Really good food. Like a lot of places around here it seems to be a converted house so the arrangement is a little awkward but it tasted great!(the name has changed s it was a little confusing.) Loved the Ruben!

The food was great. This is one of those Small town café’ that really has the home cooking down to an art. If you’re looking for a place to get some good home cooking, this is the place to go and for a good price.

Not only is the food great, but the price, and the company is too. You can’t go anywhere else in town that has REAL food, and people who make you feel at home. I would highly recomend this café to travelers, familys, and locals.

What a great, friendly restaurant! I’m from the big city and I thoroughly enjoyed the laid back and homey atmosphere of Pixie’s. The owners and waitresses were down home friendly and went out of their way to offer us anything we wanted. I felt like I am home when I enter the front door. Give me Pixie’s anytime to the high brow big city restaurants. no comparison. Oh, by the way…;the food is fresh, hot and very good. It’s a great place to relax and have a great meal. Mary W.

On our way to Orkney Springs(aka«The Sticks»), Virginia, for a wedding, husband and I found ourselves a lot early and much in need of some sustenance for what promised to be a very long [insert Christian denomination here] service. As we rolled through Mount Jackson, the Unilocal app revealed Kitt’s served lunch just as we approached it on King. Parked, got out, and spent a good 60 seconds like spectators at a tennis match, looking first right where the sign said«Kitt’s Kafé,» and then left where the sign read, «Pixie’s Kafé.» Right, left. Right, left. «I’m so confuuused,» husband despaired, before a little sign finally indicated we should enter on the Pixie’s side. Walked in and immediately had the uneasy feeling we’d inadvertently walked into someone’s sunroom: a middle-aged lady and her mom(?) were seated on lawn chairs in a small anteroom eating bowls of ice cream and staring blankly at the two city-folk in their weddin’ finery. We stared blankly back. I’m pretty sure I laughed nervously. Husband cleared his throat. Finally he broke down and asked, «Is this… the café?» Middle-Aged silently handed us two menus. We scanned them quickly(sandwiches, burgers mostly), I landed on the grilled cheese, we ordered two to-go. Middle-Aged disappeared behind some saloon doors into the kitchen. Only then did Mom usher us into the well-hidden dining room — so there *is* a dining room! Yes, it’s on Kitt’s side — where we were offered suhwait tay(translation: sweet tea). Ten minutes later we were on our way with our grilled cheeses, and much relieved to be out of Pixie Kitt’s house. [It was her house, wasn’t it? We’re still confused.] Weird, weird experience. But bonus points for: real cheese(Swiss *and* cheddar) on the sammie; thick, grilled rye bread; a fresh tomato in the middle; kettle chips as a side; and suhwait tay.
