Chippewa Motel

My hometown had a hotel similar to this one shut down due to rampant drug trafficking, crime and prostitution. The only viable shadows in the picture of the door is the one of my hand holding my phone. Yes, that is actual dirt on the door– and it was here when I arrived. Oddly enough the rest of the room and bathroom were nearly spotless. For a hotel of this caliber, I must say I was (half a star) most impressed. Hotel guests have to sign a disclaimer acknowledging that the hotel is not responsible for the safety of you or your belongings. The irony in my humble opinion is that despite having a Native American name it is staffed by people with Indian (like Pakistan) decent. I was able to barter on the price — no big surprise there — the clerk offered a discounted rate on a two night stay with taxes included at a dollar above their pretax published rate. He also offered to price match any other hotel in town. Good to know if you are looking for a bargain! I give this place one and a half Unilocal stars. Remember that the main purpose of a place like this is to get some sleep, a nice hot shower, and a continental breakfast. In addition to my review I would like to point out that the folding bucket seat in my sedan was much more comfortable than the actual bed (with a bar in the middle of your back).

We love this motel!!! When I hear motel I sometimes think of a dive. Not this place. We have stayed here several times on our trips to soaring eagles casino. We use to stay at the bay mount but it was all booked up and so were all the other chain hotels. We were told we could try this place but they didn’t know how it was. We check it out and now we keeping coming back. Rooms are clean and always have been. They have started to remodel some of there rooms that we getting out dated. Friendly guests and service. Never have had a problem. No noise or have never been treated rudely on our end. Keep up the good work!

My first review was based only on the room, not the service… when we went there the first time we got there at 5:30ish AM and the lady who works the counter was sleeping. She was very rude to us and was very upset she got woken up we just brushed it off anyways, even though she’s running a motel so that means she works night hours too and shouldn’t be rude when she gets a customer in the middle of the night. The next time we went there, a few nights ago, we were hoping she wasn’t going to be so rude again. We were wrong. 2:30AM and she was asleep. This time she was even more rude than the first time. She tacked on a bunch more fees that we didn’t have to pay last time so we paid 70 for a motel room. When we went to check out the next morning she had hit an all time rudeness, it was unbelievable! She had a horrible look on her face the whole time and is incredibly rude. I would not suggest going there to stay with their service and fees when another mile down the road is a hotel muuuch nicer, really nice, with rooms for 54 taxes included.
Also, there was no soap or shampoo in the room the second time. awful
