I love this place. We stop every time we drive from seattle to Vancouver. The apple pie tastes like Laura Ingalls Wilder’s mom made it. The cornbread is amazing. The fruit bars taste, in a word, wholesome. They also sell amazing looking veggies and produce which I haven’t actually tried but which I assume are good, if you are inclined that way.

Man we love this place. It is the«corn place» to the family. We have a vacation place near Bellingham and my wife has been stopping here since she was a kid to get sweet corn for the weekend. They have a big cart out back filled with corn and you just go fill a bag and get some of the best darn corn you will ever have. The thing that is truly awesome here are the little pies. We got a mixed berry pie and had it the next day, heated, with vanilla ice cream. OMG, one of the best pies I can remember having. We will pick up a pie every time we drive through from now on, not just corn. Is it now«the pie place»? Don’t know, could be…

Decent place to stop off the highway. Interesting variety of sodas, organic food, fresh fruit & veggies. Also, fresh made small, «single serve» fruit pies, huge cookies and other treats. Service was lackluster. They were working & ignoring waiting customers, but it is a cute place if you don’t mind chickens walking through where you are shopping. ;-)

Discovered this place by accident. Yummy local berries, and tasty gluten-free pies made therefrom! A great find. Just off Exit 221.

Wow! My family and I were on our way to the Skagit Tulip Festival. We saw a sign on the highway indicating that we could get free tulip maps so we decided to exit before we got to Mount Vernon. I’m glad we did. Honestly, I have been by this large barn many times, and never stopped. Parking was plentiful and signage was perfect. Everything from accessibility, to advertising $ 5 sandwiches, to pointing out which door was currently in use — it was all very easy to understand. The space is beautiful, full of country charm. The sun deck offers a place to rest, have your lunch, or a scoop of ice cream. Ice cream — they serve Lopez Island ice cream here. Enough said. Since it’s early April, there wasn’t a ton of produce available but the quality of what was there was fantastic. The baked goods were to die for. I am not an apple fan but I could not pass up the apple scone. It was large, less dense than scones I’m used to, and a bit sweeter as well. My companion had a cup of soup. I’ve always had a hard time describing soups but basically, it was hearty, vegetables were plentiful, and nothing was overcooked(which I think is the downfall of most soups). Although we didn’t partake in the $ 5 advertised sandwich, the menu was full of choices, including kids sandwiches like PB&J and grilled cheese. I’m not sure why I never stopped here before but it’s definitely on my list to go back.
