While it’ll never be my first choice, it’s still a solid restaurant. The customer base is typically an older crowd, so if spicy food is your forte’, you’ll be better off seeking somewhere else. That said, the food is tasty and hot, the service is welcoming. It’s almost like setting down at Grandma’s for dinner… complete with a Grandma or two in the house. Their broasted/fried chicken gets VERY high marks, and they’re one of the few restaurants I know that offer both a breaded tenderloin and a pork fritter on the menu.

The server was great, but the management was not all together. It was rather nice that the server worked his hardest to make sure that all was well. Aside from cold mashed potatoes and incorrect types of chicken meat. It took a total of 23 minutes and 47 seconds. All is well, and the service was excellent. The management staff was not all together, I was just happy to eat my chicken strips and cottage cheese in peace. The family was happy when all was said and done.

Good food, inexpensive. I and my friends eat here every Friday morning. They open at 6am. The food is good, not great. The service is good and friendly. This is the classic diner. The coffee comes with the meal and is bottomless, that is a plus.

I have ate in many of the Richard’s throughout the area and can honestly state that the food was not up to par. Chicken was undercooked, pork chops were dry and over cooked. Food was stale, tasted like freezer burned. Would not recommend.

When my family first moved here, this was one of our favorite places to eat, but it has gone down hill slowly. The service is slow, it never seems clean and we have spent an entire weekend sick from eating there.(My husband had fried chicken and I had a hamburger.) I don’t know if they have food handling issues, but it was horrible enough for us to never go back. I would not recommend eating there.

VALUE, VALUE, VALUE !!! Pops was being typical indecisive. I wanted a sit down joint. At least 3 years since I even ordered carry out fried chicken from a Richards anywhere(which they do carry out fried chicken right). Dad said he didn’t know there was one left in Muncie. Off the beaten path — no one knows its still there. Our party of 2 chose the breaded tenderloin sandwich w/a side of bean soup and the 2 piece chicken snack w/salad bar and fries. Our server Taylor was efficient and pleasant but there was only 1 other server onsite at the time(7:30p on a Saturday evening) — they were steady but not overly busy. Food took longer than expected but the salad bar kept me tied over. It’s not an extensive salad bar, basics all there and with an odd dessert that seemed to be made with leftover pie jumbled up. Soup was very very good — served hot. Both the tenderloin and the chicken were served at nuclear temp fresh from the broaster. Delicious, well seasoned. Pops said the tenderloin was very good and he would definitely like to return and would probably order again. The chicken was well seasoned, lightly breaded and hot like a fire cracker(just like the carryout). My fries — another story. Stone cold. Our waitress apologized, offered free desserts — wasn’t her fault, just wanted them to know the kitchen screwed up. I did notice the duty manager didn’t help out at all, despite being short staffed. She just chatted up with the few regulars at the counter. The décor is really in need of a refurb — out dated and tired. Mostly clean though. I’ll go back some time. And in the meantime, it reminds me to order more fried chicken carry out from the Warsaw Richards when I go open the lake cottage. Our bill with tip was less than $ 16. Excellent value.

DONOTEATHERE!!! Can you say food poisoning… I took my family of four for dinner, we all had the worst case of food poisoning ever. My daughter ordered a chocolate milk that had a «Band-Aid» after taste. WTH is that? I wrote the owners a letter and never even received a response… Goes to show you the kind of people running this place.

When I lived in Muncie for many years, Richard’s was a place to go for a quality meal at a bargain price. Based on my last visit to Richard’s for breakfast, only the latter is true. Prices are still good. Food, not so much. It’s pretty hard to screw up breakfast but Richard’s managed to do so. Not much worse than cold bacon and eggs. The service we had that morning was also quite slow however the place was busy — mostly full — leading me to believe they were short-handed and the food stood too long before serving it to us. Coffee refills were also very slow. Our experience leads me to believe service(lack of help) is at the root of our disappointment. I suspect, like many small businesses, Richard’s is struggling to stay open and are cutting all corners in order to do so but they must remember, if the food doesn’t taste good, people won’t be back. Count me in that group. There are several other places to choose from who get it right, in my opinion.

Pretty good, kinda like and IHOP or a Sunshine café, just usually for older people, had their half broasted chicken, way better than KFC and for a better price I got half a chicken and a drink all for like $ 8 If I could criticize one thing, I know this place serves a lot of elderly people, but please take all the scary pictures down of portraits of dolls or kids, whatever they are, it’s creepy
