I stay at a number of hotels and this one I don’t look forward to. As a club member I wasn’t offered a water on check in and even though my company makes the reservations, the manager went out of his way to make sure I understood I wouldn’t be receiving any credit for the stay because of how it was booked. I’ve never get so unwelcome at a hotel before. The room was in need of repair and new dresser since the top drawer wouldn’t stay shut. Ran into it in the middle of the night. Toilet flushed like it was permanently clogged with something. Towels were so old — I have towels like that at home, I call them rags, but here you get to use them to dry yourself. Breakfast? Disgusting, but all holiday inn express breakfasts are.

I think this is the only reputable hotel in Muskogee, so if you’re in the area chances are good you’ll be staying here. The surrounding area is very sketchy to say the least. Think of truck stops and run down by-the-hour motels. Just thinking of the area makes me want to wash my hands. With that being said, this hotel is decent. It’s a bit outdated but that’s to be expected. The room felt damp and the air was heavy. It was clean but the room definitely felt used. The balcony furniture should also be replaced. The saving grace of the hotel is the breakfast. They had the largest and best presented breakfast at any HIX I’ve ever stayed at. Props to the breakfast employee; you should be recognized.

The room was decent; clean for the most part. The beds weren’t that comfy. The breakfast was horrible! I wouldn’t be coming back to this place, but we had points, so we stayed for free.

Very disappointed stay from the beginning. Front counter service was awful. When you check and you are a club member, you are supposed to have a gift bag with water and other goodies. For two weekends nothing. The first weekend i was even called to see if i would exchange my suite for a reg. room cause they doubled book. The was dirty, dusty and need repairs. Overall it was below par. The breakfast was nasty.

We were in town for only a couple days, and while there, my husband was having a medical procedure done. I specifically requested a 1st floor room close to the lobby with our reservations so he wouldn’t have to walk far. When they checked us in, they sent us to the farthest room possible from the elevator on the 2nd floor. They did call to check on how satisfactory our room was, which is when I decided to speak up and let them know they neglected our original request. They moved us to the first floor to the farthest room from the lobby. At least there was a back entrance to get in from the car, but the reservations were made months in advance, so I don’t know why it was so hard to accommodate us. The new room had a jacuzzi which was nice, I guess, but the view was a small pasture filled with manure. The room doors were on some sort of spring action that slammed them shut, and the walls were extremely thin, so sleeping through constant slamming doors was a problem. It also sounded like a waterfall was going to break through the ceiling when the room above us used the shower. Our door lock malfunctioned while we were there, and an incredibly smelly and dirty maintenance guy showed up to fix it. We had to stand more than 15 feet from him to keep from gagging. How one person could reek so badly of smoke and filth is beyond me. The breakfast was only ok, mostly flavorless(except for some really good cinnamon rolls) and the coffee was weak and watery. The cable didn’t have a guide for shows, and the channel layout was confusing. The pool chemicals were so strong that I could smell it through 3 doors, and it burned my eyes to even walk past. I don’t think any of this is typical of Holiday Inns, so it is solely a judgement on this particular one. If I found myself back in Muskogee, I would certainly find another hotel for my stay. The only nice things I can say about it is that it was clean and the cinnamon rolls were good.

Slightly pricey but very conveniently located, pretty clean, efficient staff, nice bathroom amenities. I didn’t have time to take advatage of the pool or breakfast, so I can’t speak on those, but I would likely stay again.
