I found this place after Googling ‘allergy friendly restaurants in Mystic, CT’ while vacationing with my family. It was a little confusing, because when I called, they answered the phone«Ten Clams», but the building says«Catch This». Also, we weren’t sure they were open when we arrived. Anyway, they assured me they fry in canola oil, and would be willing to read any labels I needed to make sure my soy allergic daughter’s meal was safe for her to eat. I don’t even know how many labels the manager ended up reading, but she was AMAZING, as was the rest of her staff. I had the hot lobster roll and fries, my husband had the fish tacos, my soy allergic daughter had fries and a cheeseburger, no bun, with lettuce and tomato, and my other daughter had the lobster BLT with fries. I thought the lobster roll could have used some butter, but I suppose I could have asked for it on the side. Other than that, our meal was great, and my daughter didn’t get sick(YAY!) It was nice to be able to pop into a place that’s reasonably priced and able to accommodate her allergy!

Ten Clams/Catch This is awful. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you table. The food was at our table way too fast, big red flag that our food wasn’t cooked to order. The food is obviously from a frozen bag. Fish sandwich was a lump of fish on a bun, no condiment, lettuce, tomato etc… Burgers were cooked to death. Fish and chips were made with same frozen lump of fish as the sandwich. Everything tasted awful or not at all. Save your ten clams and go somewhere else!!!

I think this place is now called Catch This. I’ll post my review on here as well. After walking around Olde Mistick Village for a few minutes trying to find Ten Clams, we realized that the building had a new name. Walked in and it seems more like a burger joint. The menus were on the opposite side of the kitchen when you walk in so we spent a few minutes trying to decide what to eat. I was hoping they would have a bigger selection of seafood because, well, their name is now called«catch this.» They had very few options. Fried fish tacos, lobster rolls, and fish and chips. I decided to get a chicken ceasar salad wrap, with a side of sweet potato chips. My boyfriend got a double cheese burger with fries. Everything comes separately, not as a combo. It seemed a little pricey for what we got. The burger was plain, nothing special. Same for the fries. The sweet potato fries were yummy, but I got very little for what I paid. The ceasar salad wrap was okay, one half was most lettuce and cheese, barely any chicken and dressing. while the other half was pretty much all chicken and dressing. So I have to say this place is a disappointment. The name is very misleading.

We have to try fish and chips while we were in New England. It was by its cute seaport so he decided to stop there and enjoy the view. The fish was cut very thinly and the breading was very thin as well so it was like crispy and tender. The clams were very tender very lightly breaded and absolutely delicious and fresh.

Great food. Lobster salad was delicious. Wife who is very picky about fish and chips, she enjoyed this plate.

This place was fantastic! We stopped here on the way home from a road trip– the lobster biqsue was okay– however the fish and chips were the best I have ever had– hands down! My boyfriend had the pulled pork and loved it! and we also had the warm lobster roll — was great too!!! Will def be back if we are ever in the area!

My husband and I just ate here tonight as we heard it was good for kids. Upon arrival, it was pretty dead but it was a gross rainy Thursday night so we won’t hold that against them. The hostess/server sat is directly next to the kitchen which I hate so we moved, no biggie. I got the side Caesar salad to begin with. It was delicious and a very decent size. My husband got the clam chowder. It was a little watered down but still flavorful. For dinner I got the hot lobster roll and my husband got the fish and chips. The lobster roll was satisfying even though you could tell that it was not 100% fresh. The fish and chips were pretty good. Over all A good experience but I would not rush back.

We stopped by after spending a day in and around Mystic and Mystic Aquarium. This is basically a fast food stand disguised as a sit-down restaurant. The menu is pretty basic — nothing fancy about it. The hot lobster roll was packed full of lobster and delicious. And, the fish and chips were pretty solid as well. Nothing was outstanding but it was delicious for what it was.

The name«Ten Clams» alludes that nothing on the menu should cost more than 10 clams(or dollars, if you will). That’s not really the case when you get into the lobster zone, but alas, it’s lobster. I recently enjoyed lunch here after a visit to nearby Mystic Aquarium. I enjoyed the white clam chowder, which was thick, creamy, and chunky. It was a perfect New England chowdah for this native New Englander. I also opted for a cold lobster roll(as opposed to a hot one). Huge chunks of lobster are tossed in a light dressing and served in a beautifully buttered bun. The chips on the side of kind of lame. They’re a no name brand, and they taste like it. Next time I’d upgrade to fries for sure.

This is what it would taste like if McDonald’s opened a seafood restaurant. In fact, McD’s anti-freeze milkshakes actually taste better than the milkshakes at Ten Clams. Save your clams, get in your car, & drive a mile down the road towards Mystic for decent food.

You have to take this place for what it is and rate it accordingly. What you pay is what you get. So first off– this place shares the same parking lot as the Mystic Aquarium and Mystic Seaport. If you’re looking for food while wandering between those two places, I would recommend coming here for food. For the price of one premade refrigerated sandwhich or two hot dogs at the aquarium you could be enjoying a hot lobster roll with fries and cole slaw. They even have a large selection of desserts for those hot hot days. My waitress was nice, attentive, and quick. Exactly what I want at a diner. And it wasn’t just her– they other waiters and waitresses also checked in on us. Which is such a plus.

Everything was BAE! Super fast Service, everything was hot, delicious and had a good presentation. Hot Lobster Roll is beyond phenomenal. We had dinner here, but I think it’s perfect for lunch. We will be back.

Cute place to stop for lunch. Ten Clams has a very diner feel… not too much there on the ambiance front. The good thing is that you won’t ruin any of the furniture if you find yourself ducking in there after being caught in a torrential downpour(can you tell that happened to us)? We both had the fried clam strips, one with a side of mashed potatoes and one with a side of French fries. There was so much batter on those clams… cripes! Good thing they were seasoned so well because all we could really taste was the batter. I was happy to have a vinegar option for my fries. Ketchup can be so snooze-worthy sometimes, no? Our server was exceptionally happy for a rainy, Sunday afternoon. Good portion sizes and large soft drink glasses. Think«quick lunch» and move on. Not a place for meandering.

Chicken sandwich could have been much better but my lobster roll was good. Excellent service and good clam fritters. Would go again. Wife said her chicken sandwich tasted like the chef first beat the chicken to death and then put it in the bread.

A dinner type place but very much worth the money. Everything is under«ten clams». Very good for and service. A place worth the money in a tourist place.

Good food. Above average portion sizes. Try the fish & chips, claim strip and clam chowder… Very happy with the meal. Well seasoned and cooked just right. Score low because the Décor is very boring. Wooden tables and low lighting. Many windows for natural light but over all a little dim. If you need a place to have a quick lunch and relax Ten Claims will work for you. As always… Cheers.

Cheeseburgers were pretty good. Pretzel like buns were best part. Ordered soup but never got it. Waitress was forgetful but nice. Staff looked bored. not much business on a cold February afternoon, between lunch and dinner rushes. French fries were good, not fantastic. Price was right. Not very expensive.

Went here on a Monday afternoon, received decent service, simple layout, clean tables and floors. The menu is as simple as the layout so don’t have high expectations there. As for food: Clam Chowder — Not sure which brand they use but it’s pretty decent. Clam strips — Rubbery but good flavor with the strips and the tartar sauce. Grilled cheese — Good flavor here as well, maybe the best thing had here. Southwest burger — From the special board, more of a cowboy burger, but good burger to pretzel bun ratio, flavors came through well. Fries — Good fries, not soggy or over salted. Coleslaw — Uninspired, as in I was uninspired to take a second bite.

We decided to stop here on a rainy afternoon venturing further than Harkness State Park. The kids got pizza & grilled cheese. The pizza was standard, but my daughter said she liked it. The grilled cheese was really good, I ate half after polishing off my giant burger. My wife got a cheeseburger which she said was«ok», and i got the«Big Burger»(1 lb). it was cooked perfectly, but lacked seasoning. The addition of salt made it ok. The clam cakes(fritters) were absent of any clams and served with maple syrup. That should have been a sign, you don’t put syrup on clams, but i guess syrup goes well on fritters that have no clams. Service was average.
