Saw the sign for Texas BBQ… Being a Texan, I got really excited. It was typical mall Chinese

Tonight, I sampled the BBQ chicken, Pineapple Chicken, and Texas Honey Chicken. I ended up getting the BBQ Chicken with Vegetable Lo Mein and Steamed Vegetables(Broccoli, Carrots, Cabbage, and Celery). I didn’t like how the broccoli were kind of raw and gigantic!

This is typical mall Chinese food. Not bad for the price. Why on earth is it called Texas BBQ?

Do not eat here! Today my family including two small kids ordered out food. Say down to eat and found metal from a can in our noodles. It was a very large piece and thank god my child didn’t eat it! My husband notified them and nothing. they asked what else we wanted instead? Are you serious? No apologizes! They have been reported to the state.

We had a less than pleasing experience here. First, the male server, who was none too friendly, charged for 4 entrees when we only received 3. Portions were very skimpy and entrée sauces were cloyingly sweet with no Chinese spices that we could detect. Can’t say we’ll bother with this place again.

By far my favorite place within the food court for mall Chinese food. Service here is fantastic, everybody here always greets you with a huge smile and is very very friendly. Even though the prices that they serve are the same as their competitors, the portions that you get here are usually much bigger. Their Peppercorn Shrimp delicious! Tempura shrimp lightly seasoned with salt and pepper, deep fried until golden brown and served with crisp colorful bell peppers, fantastic! The shrimp is very succulent and just melts within your mouth. The Tofu and Broccoli stir fry is always very tasty as well, seasoned just right, nice and moist yet not too greasy, the broccoli still had a nice crunch as well. I also adore their Honey BBQ Chicken here, hearty strips of well seasoned chicken with NO fat being served, nothing but just delicious meat. The Lo Mein is also pretty tasty as well, not soaked in grease, had a very nice firm texture and has in my opinion the most flavor of the mall Chinese foods. 5 stars for the service, price and food! Granted this IS just mall food but out of the other Mall Chinese within the food court, this one is arguably one of the best.

First off, these are the people who used to work/run Sarku Japan on the other side of the food court. For some reason Sarku went down for a few months, instead of waiting for renovations, the crew opened Texas BBQ. Which is basically entrée style chinese food, with the exception of the PHENOMENAL teriyaki chicken, aka entrée #1. Always order a #1, always get extra chicken, always get shrimp. White rice and vegetables, and extra sauce. This is the ultimate in mall food. The big difference is the attitudes of the Texas BBQ folk and the scabs working at Sarku. I’ve always been remembered even when I hadn’t eaten there in over a year, and they always offer a smile and a sample of some teriyaki chicken.
