I got spoiled at the Baskin Robbins in Hendersonville, TN. For years I worked up there, and this particular location was fantastic. I visited the one on Hillwood Blvd several months ago, ordered my usual, and it was tasteless. Not nearly enough syrup. Given that, I returned yesterday, was glared at by a surly young man who apparently has a chip on his shoulder; no hello, no eye contact, no thank you(I had money in my hand to leave as a gratuity, but given this exchange, put it back in my pocket). I ordered my usual, and based on the last visit, specifically asked for EXTRASYRUP. Paid the $ 8 or so for my order, tasted it, and guess what? NOTASTE! That did it, I won’t be back. I left feedback on their company website, as I did last time, and when asked if I’d like to be contacted, I said yes. Never heard from anyone the previous time, and don’t expect to this time.

Review is for the ice cream and the cakes. I am not too sure about the service. Seems to be it or miss. I worked at an ice cream store for a few years in High School, so I understand the young workers trying to make a paycheck, but they need to be a little more attentive. How did we work without texting back in the day. The ice cream is very good and they allow samples. I love their ice cream cakes and go a few times a year for them. Parking is easy in a small strip mall area off of Charlotte. We have never stayed to eat, but there is seating. They stay open late, and cakes are already made, so an easy in and out if needed. I have grabbed and go’d a few times and have called them in a day before. Pretty seemless way to give a great cake.

The owner was extremely rude to me. After I told him who I worked for he assumed I was trying to sell him something, turned his back on me, and didn’t even take my order. This was the actual owner. Won’t be back.

I always revert back to my childhood every time I walk into a Baskin-Robbins, it just makes me so darn happy. I must admit that Baskin-Robbins is probably the only place I have not looked at the nutritional facts or ingredients, maybe that is why I don’t feel too guilty with the indulgence. This store is located off of busy Charlotte Pike. It is relatively small compared to others I have visited but the service & store appearance were good. When I walked in there were five people before me but the line moved quickly. The staff was friendly & greeted the customers as they entered the door. The freezer was stocked with a variety of ready made pint sized B&Rs favorites & ice cream cakes. I have tried every one of their signature 31 flavors and my all time favorite is mint chocolate chip, whether a shake, sundae, or on a sugar cone it satisfies my sweet tooth every time. Although they have many ice cream parlors/shops that have evolved since Baskin-Robbins opened their doors in the late 1940s. Baskin-Robbins has been consistent with taste & quality of their ice cream with no substitutions or watered down products. Tip:

I go here for pre-packed quarts sometimes. The staff has always been extraordinarily friendly. And the manger(owner?) is really nice, recognizes me and will ring me up quickly between customers so I can get in and out quickly.
