This slightly overpriced place feels sort of thrown together. The lobby is impressive and nice, however it feels sad at night when they have live music, but no one is there at the bar to watch. I’m not sure if that is the case all the time or not, but it is not a lively scene. The building is old and has been remodeled, which I can appreciate, but I just don’t understand some of their decisions: They have a Styrofoam tile drop-ceiling in the hallways, which makes it feel like an office, minus the florescent lights. There are also crazy powerful fans blowing though vents in the wall right by the elevator, which was loud, annoying, tacky, and totally unnecessary. The room was nice enough, but with some quirks/imperfections. The laminate/fake-hardwood flooring did not even meet the baseboard at the edge by the wall, leaving a gap of about half an inch. I just stared at this in disbelief. I just can’t imagine a hotel manager saying«oh, thats’ good enough.» If you had a contractor do this in your home, you would be unhappy, especially if you were paying $ 230 a night to sleep in your house. And this could be fixed in 10 minutes with $ 10 worth of corner bead from home depot. I just don’t understand the apathy, given that the place is supposed to be fancy. The fancy white leather rolling chair in the room was all stained and discolored. Also water stains on the fake hardwood floor. There was only one nightstand for the kingsize bed, and there is room for another. Oh, and there is this weird child-sized door in the wall that leads to the furnace, which was completely covered in dust and high-voltage stickers. Very weird decision. At least put a lock on it. Totally gross and probably unsafe if you had a curious child in the room. When we went down to get our breakfast we were actually super impressed… it appeared that this was the most impressive continental breakfast ever: scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, hash browns, etc. We thought for a moment that hotel was going to redeem itself in our eyes, until a server came by and gave us a $ 37 bill. No free breakfast. No free coffee. $ 230 a night. Oh, parking is also $ 20 a day, and the parking garage is kinda gross, and is not exclusive to the hotel. We also waited for valet but no one showed up. Oh, I almost forgot; The front desk also charged my debit card over $ 500 after we checked in, even when we had already paid through . This drained my account for a day until I could figure out what had happened, leaving us with only $ 23 in cash to spend on our first day in town. We had to just walk everywhere and look at restaurants that we couldn’t eat, and we visited the gift shop of the parthenon, because we had no money to pay the admission fee. All the while I was calling my bank and trying to figure out why my money was missing. This pretty much ruined the first half of our visit. When I finally got it figured out I went to the front desk and they acted like it was no big deal, as if it happens all the time. They said the charges would be reversed in about a day, but then guy at the desk called my bank and they reversed the charges in minutes instead. In short, I thought this place would have a little more character and charm than a chain hotel, but it doesn’t.

Hotel rooms are showing signs of wear and shoddy craftsmanship on the part of the builder. I have never seen so much caulking around the base of a sink! It’s like someone cut the hole too big. Laminate flooring is starting to chip and peel. Perhaps the company that owns it was in a hurry to open.

I really wanted to like my stay here. I thought the location was great. The décor and music artwork were eclectic and colorful. The rooms were spacious and had great views. We didn’t have a fridge and had to request one. They brought one up immediately which was nice. Valet was $ 20. We would have tipped our valet an extra $ 20 when we checked out on Sunday, but he wasn’t even able to help us with our luggage. He was the only valet member on a Sunday afternoon when most people check out of a hotel? There was only a standing shower which was nice but not very user friendly with childeren under 5 who need baths. We wanted to use the nice coffee machine but our coffee mugs were kind of dirty. The beds were comfortable, but had too many soft pillows. Besides the lounge and bar that hosts live music from local artists, there is no amenities to this hotel. I did enjoy the music on one of the nights. The staff was friendly. We ordered room service for breakfast on once. We spoke to the manager personally and expressed to him our Gluten Allergy. We specifically requested that our food have no toast touching the food. The manager said he understood because his wife had celiac. There was toast on our plates. The omelet had undercooked onions. They did prepare another omelet but it was still mediocre. For dinner we tried their japanase restaurant. Again, we told them about the Gluten Allergy. There was flour pasta in our soup. The habichi food was decent though. Our best dining experiences were actually outside of the hotel. For the price we paid per night for this hotel, I was dissapointed. I didn’t think it was better than a Holiday Inn.

We chose to stay at the Indigo Hotel in West End while in Nashville for a wedding at Vanderbilt. I decided against the hotel recommended by the bride and groom because I like to stay in boutique hotels whenever possible. I am sad to say that this hotel gave a very weak attempt at earning the boutique feel. From the moment we were dropped off, I was disappointed with our choice. While getting out of the cab that brought us from the airport, the boys at the valet stand did nothing to help my boyfriend and I with our bags(not getting them out of the car or taking them inside to the front desk)… I guess maybe they didn’t think they had to help since we weren’t parking a car? So in we went to check in. No problems there. We got to our room which was supposed to be a suite… It honestly felt more like an awkwardly shaped leftover area after the other rooms were made that was turned into an extra room. Because it was long and skinny, the area with the bed was freezing cold from the AC, and the area down the hall with the couch and tv was quite warm. The thermostat was right next to the AC vent which resulted in the loud AC unit running around the clock. I guess that’s good if you like noise while you sleep. Ordinarily, I am not put off by these types of things, but I felt like it was one thing after another that was taking away from the quality of our stay. To be honest, the floors in the bathroom were dirty and stained, the laminate flooring was peeling up in multiple places throughout the bedroom and common area, the furniture was dinged up, at least half of our towels were darkly stained and looked like they had been in circulation for quite a while and the carpet from the elevator to our room on the fourth floor was stained(badly). The worst part for me was that from our check in Thursday afternoon until check out Sunday, our room was only cleaned once. Saturday while we were getting ready to leave the room mid morning, someone finally stopped by to clean. I explained we were getting ready to go and asked if they could return later. She said she wasn’t sure and then walked away. Much to our surprise, our room was clean when we came back to the room that afternoon. I will say that when we asked to delay our check out from 11am to 12 noon, the front desk quickly agreed. The girls working the bar at the hotel were really nice and gave great service! The beds and pillows were comfy too! I happened to check my online banking on our way home and saw that I had a $ 50 charge to my debit card from the day of our check in. I called the hotel who told me that it was a fee or something and would be credited back in 5 – 7 days. At check in, I was told my card would only be charged if there was damage to the room. Sadly, we won’t be staying here for our next trip to Nashville. If you are looking for a semi-nice place, you’d be better off to stay at a newer Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn or something of the sort. I’m sure the rate would be cheaper too.

It’s no Hilton, but it’s not a Motel 6 either. While the hotel rooms need some maintenance, it’s not the worst hotel i’ve ever stayed in. The Good: –King bed was clean and comfy. –Room was cleaned daily –Towels refreshed daily –Updated flat screen TV with free cable TV. –Free in-room WiFi Internet, albeit slow. –Vending/ice machines conveniently located in the hallway. –Keurig coffee machine/cups were clean –Nicely decorated with music theme. –Lobby/lounge/bar area very nice and comfy with live music. –Hotel itself is well lit. –Surrounding area is decent. The Meh: –No closet to store belongings. With the spaciousness of the rooms, you’d think they could have set aside some room to put in a closet with doors. I don’t use the dresser drawers and typically leave my clothes in my suitcase, but i like hiding my suitcase in a closet while out and about. –No mini-fridge to store drinks/food. –Room needs a fresh coat of paint and a good deep cleaning. to make it a 4-star hotel. The Bad: –Bathroom door is slatted for ventilation into the main room –Bathroom did not have a vent/fan –Walk in shower does not have a door so water splashes out –No black out curtains. There was an exterior light fixture right outside my window and shined directly into the room. –Smoke detector flashes an annoying green LED. –Dogs are allowed in hotel rooms. –Some rooms located right outside the elevator making it really noisy for those guests. –Attached parking lot not well lit and it cost us $ 19 per night. Could not find an elevator, so if you have heavy luggage/items, get ready to do some lifting. In response to some of the 1 – 2 star reviews, it’s really not that bad. Wait until you stay at the hotel i stayed at in San Francisco. After staying there, you’ll come back and give this hotel a glowing review.

I had the opportunity to spend a couple of nights at Hotel Indigo Nashville on a recently girl’s weekend. I will begin by saying that the hotel was in a great location for me… There was great access to many areas of the city, and it felt like it was easy to get around from this centrally located hotel. The interior of the hotel is(predictably) music themed, and even offers live music in the bar area in the lobby most evenings. The art and décor consisted of many contemporary furniture pieces mixed in with musical history items and paintings. The rooms were large, and clean… and our room had a great view of downtown Nashville. We were also on the same floor as the«roof deck,» which allowed you to sit outside and enjoy the view while relaxing or using the internet. The beds were comfortable, and the staff was kind. Parking was a bit pricey, and we decided to pay the extra just to valet… I was happy with my stay and the only caveat was that the hotel seems to be losing a bit of its«sparkle.» Wall scuffs need touched up, floors cleaned, some furniture freshened or replaced. If the Hotel Indigo Nashville wants to be seen as a «luxury» hotel, they have a bit of work to do to get to the level for the prices they charge.

I’m writing a review for the lounge area and not for the hotel itself. I went there the Sunday before Thanksgiving to watch some live music and the place was pretty packed. The bar area-furthest from the stage was open though and the bartender had only one other person to serve so she was quick to take my order and come back with my Blue Moon. Honestly, even for a hotel bar/lounge/café it was pretty meager and the only thing saving it from a two star rating is that the free live music really picked up the average of the place. There were a lot of people there so it seems like it’s a popular destination for free music.

I really loved my stay here, and honestly didn’t want to leave. I mean, sure, staying in this hotel was a great alternative to what I was in Nashville for, but even without that — I just wanted to stay in the room and chill. It was just… COOL. Cool design, huge, and comfortable. I don’t know if I had a standard king room or a king suite, but it was nice. A huge, comfy bed with a million comfy pillows. A sheet set I wanted to steal. A couch to lounge on(that was a pullout). 2TV’s. A desk. Another reading chair. Cool artwork. Hardwood floors. Large bathroom. Free wifi. Quiet! Every staff member I encountered was so nice and helpful, even the one I ran into in the stairwell coming from the parking garage and insisted on helping me with my bags to my room, even though I was fine.(Sidenote — someone whined about having to drag suitcases up «a flight of stairs». It’s seriously 6 small steps and not a big deal. If it’s an issue, you can use the elevator in the main lobby.) This was easily a 4 or 4.5 star stay. So why 3 stars? I couple minor things knocked it down a notch for me: — While I appreciate clean linens, I could smell the bleach on the sheets and it got irritating. — The TV that faced the couch didn’t seem to be hooked up to the cable. It was such a chore to walk 4 feet to my right and turn on the other TV! /sarcasm — Room service was a joke. I’ve stayed at many hotels where you can place your order the night before for breakfast. When I called to inquire about doing this, the guy was kind of spaced out and advised me to call and place it in the morning so it didn’t get lost. So I called back in the morning and placed my order. 40 minutes later, nothing. I called back, and apparently whoever took my order didn’t put my room number on it.(So even following their instructions didn’t matter since they screwed it up anyway.) They were thankful I called back, and 10 minutes later I had food. However, the food came in a plastic container with plastic utensils. Seriously, you can’t spring for real plates and silverware, Hotel Indigo? It kind of cheapened what was otherwise a nice experience at your nice hotel.

For the price, tho hotel is not worth it. The rooms are run down, and quite dirty. The rooms smelled very musty, like there was a mildew problem. The beds were comfortable. The parking situation is very inconvenient, especially when you are having to drag suitcases up a flight of stairs. The parking is an extra $ 20 per day on top of that.

Okay, I’d give this 3.5 stars if we got half stars on this system. I booked this last minute on and got a GREAT price. First, location– its good– if you want to check out both the Vanderbilt University section(with the great Parathanone Park) and an easy, walk, cab or bus ride to the city, this is a good place. My room was huge– though not a great fan of this bathroom area– no makeup place and not the best lighting. I can’t complain at $ 118 a night. If it was $ 150, I’d be not as thrilled. But I’m reading someone got it for $ 65? I’d be jumping up and down. Pluses: great Nashville feel, the lounge area always has someone playing, good staff, free wifi Internet in the rooms and the business center is free and you can print out as well. Minus: Its not downtown if that’s what you want. The lobby did have an odd smell. My room had no windows facing the sun so it was pretty dark unless I had the lights on. The fitness center is nothing special– but its doable. Again, it was good for the price and to do all of the things I wanted to check out. It’s not glamorous, but again its nicer than some of the non-Nashville type of hotels.

This is a very modern hotel situated near Vanderbilt University. The room was very spacious(we had two flat screens tv and a living room area) and had nice décor. The air conditioning unit was too loud so we had to turn it off before going to bed. I could take it or leave it on this one.

I like the idea of this hotel and it is unique. On the downside, the valet is super slow, but helpful once they get to you. I had no idea at first where to park to check in because there was a valet sign, but no one in sight. It took them 20 minutes to get there just to tell me where to park and check in. Not the valet’s fault, but they are obviously understaffed. The rooms are big and I like the bathroom, but my room was a little dirty. There were cup rings on the furniture and one of the bed had stains all over the bed skirt and a huge stain on the down comforter when I folded it down. Otherwise, I like the hotel and location. It would also be helpful to give out of town guest instructions on checking in so they are not in the dark about having to pull in an alley and wait for a valet to finally get there. On the best note: I left some items in the room and they promptly shipped them to me. I was surprised they were even there! So. kudos for that!!!

In response to some negative reviews year(s) ago, I’m staying there now and it seems as if they got all their stuff together. Everyone is nice, the place is clean with décor decent(guitars on the walls), with large rather impressive rooms. The free internet is fast, they must have done something, because i just speed tested at 3.7MB/s. I just watched a streaming movie without a single buffering problem. Water does take a bit to get warm, and parking was 19 a day but, I’d stay here again. It’s really 3.5 stars, but i’ll give them the benefit.

Two words: STAYAWAY. If I could give it no stars, believe me, I would. Let me preface this review by saying that I travel to NV frequently for business and have stayed a many of the hotels in the city. This has to be the worst«luxury» hotel in Nashville. The rooms are nice at first glance but underneath it all is poor management and facilities. First off, the front desk staff don’t know their head from their you know what. There’s no room service, there’s no true restaurant in the hotel. If you want breakfast, you have to go to the dirty bar/coffee shop downstairs. If you want a workout, you have to go through the bar/coffeeshop to get to it and it’s nothing more than a couple of cardio machines. The hot water is almost non existent. The AC is loud will drown out the tv when it turns on every 5 minutes. Try to avoid this place unless you’ve exhausted ALL other options.

This hotel has two big problems.(1) Their free internet is dial-up speed or you can pay $ 6.99 for premium which is only marginally faster. I resent being asked to pay for internet. Especially when it’s Slow!(2) They have One valet /bellman for the entire hotel. Waits of 20 – 30 minutes are common. Stay across the street at the Hutton. Same price and a fabulous hotel.(No, I’m not associated with the Hutton).

Not a bad hotel. The location is more convenient to Vanderbilt than downtown, but it still isn’t too far away. My wife and I were able to walk downtown a few times. The rooms are nice, $ 19/day for parking is bullshit, the a/c is louder than a bastard. This is a 3 star hotel, not 3.5 per Hotwire. But overall good enough for the price.

The guest rooms are AWESOME here, but the ‘extra’s’ are overpriced. The desk clerks are not friendly or helpful, so make sure you know where you’re going(I always use my iPhone). Shuttle service is offered free of charge, and my driver was a friendly gentleman who knew a lot about the city. I would definately stay at the Hotel Indigo again.

My husband and I had concert tickets this weekend, and were pretty much not willing to drive to Nashville, see a show then drive in the rain for an hour to get home, when we could spend the night, relax, and hang out in such a lovely city. I looked around on Unilocal, and found Indigo. The room for a Saturday night, booked the day before, was reasonably priced for being a really central location. The hotel is cute enough, and small, but for some reason the lobby smells like lemongrass, and not in a good way. The bed was super fluffy and we slept comfortably though. I really dug the layout of the bathroom with the exception of the slatted door.(um, awkward?) They supplied Aveda products, which I happily stuffed in my bag. The hotel staff was helpful enough, and pointed us towards middle-of-the-night-burritos two blocks over. There is a bar and restaurant too, but we didn’t try it. We did use the«phitness» room, which was small and just functional enough. On the downside, the whole hotel seemed a little cramped; we had to march through a dining area to get to the workout room. The bar was tiny as well. Walking in felt like intruding on a private business meeting for drunk suits. I could hear people in the next room, or leaving the elevator throughout the night as well. Another reviewer wrote about the«weird design,» and I got it right away. It’s the like idea of a boutique hotel was given to people tasked with recreating it without the originality and with cheaper materials. The colors were kind of clashy and unpleasant after a while.(tomato soup red and limey yellow) Overall, it’s better than a regular chain hotel, if only for the bed and staff.

One of the best stays Ive ever had. The rooms are amazing here. They are at least twice the size of your average hotel room of comparable price. With two flat screen tv’s, one for the bed/sleeping area and the other for the couch/chill zone. The beds were very comfortable and spacious, as were the pillows and linens, The bathrooms were enormous as well. The shower was so big it didnt even require a door, because the water never made it that far. In some of the bathrooms(I ended up staying in a few different rooms here) the toilet was in a separate little nook. The japanese steakhouse on premises is rather tasty as well. Although our cooked lacked any pizazz you might be accustomed to(no onion volcano, tossing food etc.). The bartender at the hotel bar also lacked in any attentiveness that a server of any sorts should possess. But this review is about the hotel itself. I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Nashville.
