The Hookah

Visited this place on a thursday night, i cannot express how bad this place is. The cover was 5.00 and there was a DJ playing that evening. I find that OK since they need to make a little money and the cover was acceptable.
First let me say i enjoyed the atmosphere, he nailed it as far as a good environment goes. The DJ was playing weird music (old school oldies and weird techno) and the projector was playing B-​roll movies (OK.)
What kills this place for me is the following;
1. The owner charges 20.00 for standard Al-​fahkir shisha (rot gut quality) and is making and INSANE profit from it. This brand is horrible and loses flavor really fast.
2. He uses the quicklight coals that burn the shisha and is horrible on heat distribution. Our shisha was burnt after 15 minutes and it was unsmokeable. There were only 3 people in the joint while we smoked. He did not rotate the coal, we had to do so our-​self with the cover.
3. The drinks are STUPIDLY overpriced and WAY too small. I paid over 30.00 for horrible drinks and horrible hookah, He replaced the coal but the shisha was already burnt so i left as fast as i could.
I walked past the place on a friday night and it was lined around the door. I dont see how! I can understand if people dont know any better when it comes to hookah but in this place your paying this guy for horrible services.
To improve these deficiencies i would suggest switching to Starbuzz tobacco or Fumari if your going to charge these silly prices on shisa. Credit for making creative names.
Also, maybe a fire hazard when in clubmode with alcohol, dancing and fire.
WORST HOOKAH EXPERIENCE EVER but the atmosphere was cool.

The Hookah is a great club, Very relaxing feel for a night club. Lots of VIP tables, with bottle service. The dance floor is big. DJ Rekenize throws a weekly EDM party on the second floor every Sunday night, staring at 8pm. The cover is only $ 5

Love this place! There’s a spacious lounge area where we chilled and smoked our hookah, plus 2 large bars, a stage and a huge hard wood dance floor with a crazy awesome light show (it’s worth going in just to see the trippy brick wall!). The drinks are reasonable, the service was great, the décor is really cool (if an ultra hip Manhattan night club had an illegitimate love child hidden in the dirty south, it would be The Hookah). Can’t wait to go back!

My girls and I got a table here on a Saturday night while we were in NOLA for the weekend. Loved that even though it’s a hookah bar, they still play hip hop and everyone is up dancing. (For some reason my stereotype of hookah bars is a dimly lit lounge with techno playing haha)
Anyway, we probably wore out our welcome as we were one of the last to leave, but we were hell bent on finishing our 2^nd bottle of ciroc!
Definitely recommend this place if you want a decent club outside of grimy bourbon st.

Went Friday night or was it Saturday — im getting too old to remember since I no longer go out much on weekends — and the place does not start to jump til bout midnight which is typical New Orleans party hours.
Cover charge is $ 10 on top of what everything else is going to cost you once you get up in der. Cool that there is a loung area for large parties with a good selection of hookah flavors. Bottle serivice is expensive but one thing great about this place is that they bring you the liquid pourers. This is very important because you may have a bottle of grey goose that they charged you over $ 200 for and so Grey Goose happy guests in your party who pour like there is no tomorrow — it really makes a big difference with the liquid pourer — and in this case that sucker last us the whole evening. Mind you we had slew of people sitting in our area over 12 who just kept pouring.
Overall, on the weekend, there is a hip-​hop DJ, dancefloor and 2 full bars. Ladies be careful going up the stairs in your high-​ass heels cuz you dont want to trip and end up sprawled out on da floor back on the 1^st floor.
If you are sitting in the lounge area, there’s always a movie showing on the projector appearing on the wall over the bar. Great for me since this old lady dont dance much.
I have to say that while I was there — NO DRAMA — I love it. No one was hatin on anyone… maybe the hookah helps.
Cash, credit, parking is a bitch but I believe most park off of Decatur across from the Canal Place by the hotel adjoining it. Come early and leave late.

People please careful when you are out dining or at a bar. Supposedly my bill was only 20 something dollars which included tip for 3 drinks. When I checked my statement I was charged double that. PLEASE KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS unless you are some big baller and dont really care if they scam you.
