I love the menu. The wine is so good. I had the cheese platter with some of the best cheese in the world.

Really cool atmosphere and great for some wine and plates to share. A little tight so try to get in early. Pay close attention or else you may walk right past it!

I recently went to gnarly vine to celebrate a birthday and was hoping to get some nice small bites before catching a train for a night out in the city. Sounds like the setup for a good night but unfortunately we hit a snag… slow service, very slow service. We ordered three things, none of which had to be cooked and some wine and ended up having to take the last dish in a to go container after an hour and half of being there. Staff is very nice so it’s hard to get too bent out of shape but I hope they really improve in this area. The saving grace here and why I’m stuck on a three is that the food is pretty good — definitely recommend the burrata salad and the tartare.

Great selection of wines, and the prices are fantastic. Great music on the weekend, we loved the guys playing guitar. AWESOME addition to the hip atmosphere. GREATPIZZA! The kitchen is a super tiny alcove towards the back, making small plates to be sampled with your wine. Lovely selection of craft beer and wines for those of us who are not wine connoisseurs. We need more of this type of place in the neighborhood — clean, cool, priced right, convenient.

Love this spot! Easy, casual or dressy. Service is lovely. Food delicious. Wine offerings aplenty.

My favorite wine bar in New Rochelle! Love the ‘flight’ of wine option for sampling a variety of whites or reds. All of the salad are great too, the burrata is fabulous, but my favorite is the greek, the feta is top notch and I love all the dill they put in it. Currently they have great live music on Thursday night so I hope they keep that going. Went for ‘open mic night’ on a Monday once which was very fun and entertaining as well.

Great food, great staff. We’ve been to Gnarly Vine a few times and everything we’ve tried has been really good! And would you believe that they don’t have a full kitchen? Most notable dishes from our most recent visit were: Burrata Salad, Meat Plate, Wild Mushroom Quesadilla, Flatbread(w/Bosc Pear, arugula, truffle oil, and honey). Gnarly Vine is a great local wine bar in New Rochelle and they have a daily special with live music on select nights so definitely check it out!

Lovely exterior. No lie, it invites you right in! Sadly, there was an event planned for that night, so my time there was limited. The wine selection is exceptional and the wait staff’s knowledge of their wines is as well. They were friendly and had a great sense of humor. We tried a white wine flight and a few of the appetizers. Wish I would’ve sampled more off their menu, but now I have a good reason to come back!

I’m super bummed out! We used to LOVE this place, and went whenever we could find time for a date night. The last 2 times we have been, we have been VERY disappointed, and I’m not sure we will be back. Part of the fun/draw of the Gnarly Vine is the wine flight options. For $ 21(not cheap), you get to taste 3 badass wines(or almost always badass), and get a little more wine than you would with just ordering a glass. In fact, looking back, they always were healthy pours of wine, maybe it added up to about a glass and a half or slightly more, which, for that price point, felt correct. The last 2 times we have been, my husband and I both ordered a flight, and the pour was SO small. With the 3 glasses in the flight, it added up to what looked like MAYBE1 glass worth of wine, at most. The first time it happened, I thought it might be a fluke, and tried not to be annoyed that I had just paid $ 42 for barely 2 glasses of wine. When we went back, I actually saw the bartender measuring out the pours for the fights, and yet again, the amount of wine was way, way less than it used to be. I am not rich enough, or enough of a wine snob, to repeatedly pay $ 21 for 1 glass worth of wine. It’s an easy way to keep customers(healthy pours), or a REALLY easy way to turn them off — as is the case with my husband and I. Sadly I don’t think we will be back. The wine was always the draw, as that is the real strength of this place. Sad.

Great food, great wine, great atmosphere and staff were sweet but a bit green with regard to knowledge of wines, food, and service. It seems as though they were a group of college students who would be working at an Applebee’s not a wine bar.

After passing by this place multiple times over the past two years, my wife and I finally decided to step inside. Very dark/romantic atmosphere and lots of tables spread out along the walls. Nice upbeat music playing and a huge chalk board menu on the wall. We initially got a flight of their reds, but now that we are seasoned veterans, we now know that ordering bottles is clearly the way to go. We had a meat and cheese plate which was awesome and their warm bread bites that go along side with it were a nice touch. We also ordered two flatbread pizzas, both of which were excellent. The one with an arugala salad on top was the better of the two though. Make sure you ask them for their crushed chilli flakes if you’re daring enough, they are the spiciest but most flavorful flakes that I’ve ever tasted! The crème brûlée at the end of our meal allowed us to leave with smiles on our faces.

So as a vegan not that many options, vegetarian yes. The quantities of food for the price was very fair. We ladies came for the wine(delicious!) some of us snacked and they said it felt like a meal. I do think in this day and age one option on the food menu should be vegan. With the exception of the olives I think everything else had cheese. Do not come for quiet conversation. Do come for a loud, fun evening. One of the most trendy night time places in the area. We went somewhere else afterwards that was not that great. No more space for us when we circled back.

I’m literally writing this review and I have no idea where to start because everything was absolutely fabulous. The Wild mushroom gruyère truffle oil was mouth watering, the aroma of the truffle oil alone was divine. Me and my friends were greeted by the most gracious host, Rebecca. She never took her eyes off of us once and her knowledge of the establishment was impeccable. The menu alone was a surprise featuring an array of different items such as: Tuna Tartare, flatbread pizzas and artisanal cheeses and cured meats. The impressive part about the food other than it being delicious is that the kitchen is the size of a cubicle. How can they possibly make such amazing food in such a small kitchen?! The kicker was that we went on a Monday and they have an open mic night and as a musician, I was incredibly impressed. First up to the mic was a 6-year-old little girl who sang, «Let it go» and there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd. After that, there was amazing singer after amazing singer. If you are looking for a great ambiance, a great beer selection, great food and music; this place is a must! I highly recommend it.

LOVELOVELOVE this place. We have been going here for years. A hidden gem and one of our favorite places in Westchester. The owner Jennifer is always so warm and welcoming. No matter how long between visits, she always remembers us and greets us with a smile. The food and wine are consistently great, they use fresh, local ingredients. So refreshing to have a place that offers high quality food but is NOT pretentious. Tip: order the cheese plate! Be sure to get the one with fruit and honey. You won’t be disappointed!

Love this place. The food, the atmosphere, all good. Décor: Dark interior with mood lighting, plenty of seats(but get here earlier, because the dinner rush means you get to wait, or call ahead). Music overhead, it’s loud, but you can hear each other talk. Food: Excellent. I’m not a huge drinker, I tend to stick to a beer or two, or a glass of wine, and call it. I couldn’t tell between a pinot or a zinfandel or a chardonnay. But they seem to have a good selection, and my friends seem to like it, so I’ll leave it as that. Their friday night $ 1 oysters are a huge plus. I love their charcuterie plate, as well as their shrimp(prawn?) cocktail. Service: Pretty good. They were constantly checking on us, so we were pretty happy about it. Overall: Pretty good place. Price is a tad bit steep for the area, but it’s also an establishment that doesn’t seem to fit in with the area of new roc. If you’re looking for date night options at a casual yet romantic/trendy spot, this is the place.

Gnarly Vine, sounds like something my teen son would say. I fell head over heels in love tonight! It’s ok, my husband knows, he did too! How many of you remember a place on City Island in the 70s-80’s called«Say Cheese», you loved it right? Well imagine that place but 10 times better, elevated to a more culinary sophisticated level. It was a small venue but the romantic ambiance exuded from every crevice! Tastefully decorated in dark woodsy décor with whimsical lighting and gorgeous pictures of their dishes on the wall. There was a Wine closet in the back with so many fine choices of wine, it was mind boggling. The menu offered a lot. From their cheese and meat plate selections to a vast array of «light foods» such as salads, gourmet flat breads, quesadillas, fresh fish dishes and desserts. We had already had dinner, so we opted for the cheese plate selection and a nice sweet New York Riesling. The cheese plate was presented by owner Chef William, who has studied in Spain and Mexico, and was very charming and passionate in his explanation of the selection of five different cheeses paired with fresh cut pears and apples, two jellies and an awesome organic honey with accompanying crusty bread bites. Most of the ingredients are shopped for everyday from local New York markets, which I love. We had St Andre triple crème that was my favorite, Don Fernando Manchrgo, 5 Spoke Tumblweed Cheddar, 2 Sisters Isabella Gouda(which was my second favorite, especially with a drizzle of honey and sliced pear) and last but not least the Landaff Creamery Landaff. The quality, selection and pairing was absolutely perfect and fulfilling! This was just not a date night snack but a whole romantic interlude with cheese! This place is a perfect place for date nights, girl nights out, or any reason you have to celebrate the joy of amazing wine, cheese and all the other plates they have to offer. If this was not enough, they have live music every Friday and Saturday starting at 8 pm. Romance is not dead it’s alive and well and waiting for you at 501 Main Street in New Rochelle.

Seriously? Don’t waste your time. I wish I couldn’t give any stars! I was recommended to try this place for a cute, stay close to home date night with my boyfriend. We went later on a Saturday night, a few tables were still open, we were seated right away. I asked the waitress a question about two of the wines — which she had no knowledge of, nor did she try to find out for me. *I work at a Craft Beer Bar — if someone asks me something I don’t know, for sure I am going to find out what a PAYINGCUSTOMER wants… obviously. Anyway, I got something I really wasn’t fond of which was ultimately way too sweet. My boyfriend got a glass of Pellegrino which took forever, and we ordered one thing and one thing only; the 5 Cheese Plate. Now let’s discuss — a Cheese plate consists of generally what? Cut cheese, maybe some starch, fruit, and olives/cornichons/capers what have you. Nothing is cooked correct? Only plopped down onto a plate in a presentable way and brought to the table. Right, so… why was it that two parties arrived after us, received their drinks, HOTCOOKED appetizers before us, and then their entrees?! I politely asked the waitress where our cheese plate was after she dropped appetizers for the parties who had arrived after us and she quickly responded that it’s coming out. Okay, so then when I asked again after the parties received their entrees where the plate full of simply cut cheese and arranged fruits were, she said — «Well, it takes time to cut the cheese.» ISSHEKIDDING?! That had to have been the stupidest answer this girl could’ve thought of. We left the appropriate $ 11 on the table for the drinks and left. Never will we go there again and neither should you unless you want to wait 55 minutes for your cheese to be cut and deal with the nonsense of that place. P. S. The live music was terrible, far too loud, and very distracting.

I am so happy we had an opportunity to try this spot out. I would never have known it even existed until I purchased a voucher for tapas and drinks. The décor and ambiance is nice and chill. You walk in and thinks it’s just your run-of-the-mill bar and then you look up and see their chalkboard menu. NICE! Our voucher was for two people, 4 tapas plates and two glasses of wine. We brought my son as well and got an extra plate for him. We were all satisfied because their small plates are big enough to share. They actually have a Riesling(Trimbach Riesling Alsace) on the menu that is NOT sweet! I ordered the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail which was good, and the Mushroom Gruyère & Truffle Quesadillas which were OUTOFTHISWORLD. They serve these quesadillas with slices of Granny Smith Apples and I strongly suggest eating the two together. Very nice. Hubbs had the Caprese Salad and the Cheeseburger which was a little more bread that burger but was honestly, the BEST burger any of us tasted(yesh, I cheated that night and ate meat and I’m damn happy I did). My son ordered the Chorizo Quesadilla w/Chipotle Aoili and he seemed to enjoy it immensely. The Gnarly Vine is such a nice addition to New Roc. We usually only eat at one restaurant, regularly in this area, so it’s ncie to have found this little gem. We have another voucher which I happily intend to use, as well as making this a regular tapas stop for dinner nights :0)
