I used to go to this place with my friends back in 2011 – 2014. It was a nice place to be, although it got VERY crowded on Saturday nights, where you can’t even move or dance without bumping into someone else or elbowing them. The drinks were hit or a miss, either they were just right, too sweet, or too strong. I’m kinda shocked it’s closed because it used to be pretty crowded on weekends.

Is it REALLY closed? Say it ain’t so. Really, if it’s still open, the business owner should speak up. Saw it was closed on Unilocal, but then an acquaintance told me it was still open. I liked this place. Also, I’m confused about why it would be closed: On most nights, it seemed to have a decent crowd.

I had heard of Bar-Tini for years because a friend of mine lives right around the corner from the venue. To be honest, I didn’t think to act much or actually check it out because I had a few key places I already enjoyed going to. My friend Chris hosted a «SECRETS» event there(in fact, he hosts them every Friday night. Details are here — ) I decided to check the place out and had the best time! My main draw is the dancing component of clubs and those similar. I give Bar-Tini an A+ in this department. Its intimate space is just perfect for those who dance like no one is watching, and yet you don’t feel lost in the crowd like venues similar but on a much larger scale. I adore the small spaces with spirit, and this location has it. The bartenders and staff are attractive, sexy, and nice! The drag queens are also friendly and aren’t above stopping to have a fun conversation with you. The DJ even took a request of mine — and get this — actually played the song I requested in a timely manner! Unheard of, right? The crowd is fun and everyone was looking to just cut loose and have a good time. That’s what I did and I will certainly come back when I’m ready to brush up my dance skills ha. :-) A +, Bar-Tini!

I’m happy to report that Bar-Tini appears to be back on track. A new general manager has brought in a slate of bartenders – including two former ones(Zach and Patrick) who were top favorites – and slowly the luster seems to be returning. On a recent Saturday, the place was hopping, the music was out of this world and the crowd was having a great time. Fifi, the shot girl, was hilarious(with a Lypsinka vibe). The bathrooms were clean and not flooded(as they were previously) and the fruit-flies have disappeared(Could they have flown South for the Winter?) It remains to be seen whether the improved conditions extend to weekday Happy Hours and events on weekday nights. Stripper nights are gone thank God. Now let’s see if it’s smooth sailing ahead or if choppy waters return to this gay fun-spot in Hell’s Kitchen.

Requested a song… got called a «mainstream faggot.» And I’ve been coming her for 4 years. I miss the bar sticking to what it knows

My co-worker and I stumbled in after the gay pride parade to see the dancers. They were all very friendly, engaged, aside from entertainment from dancing we also had a blast talking to them. The bartender was sweet, quick and can make a hell of a drink, as a straight woman I didn’t receive and negative treatment in the bar except when going to the back for a dance a customer yelled at my dancer and I «oh god you brought a woman back here» and we had to turn back and wait until he was done although it was a shared space.

Small, intimate, white décor, chic-ish…I mean what do you want… yet another boy bar in HK… not too hard to screw up pouring booze…

I mean… it’s fine. They use the space well. They accomplish the lounge feel. The bathroom was clean, though I’ve never been a fan of bathrooms with side-by-side toilet/urinal and no divider, even in said environment. The hootch selection was a little smaller than I would have liked it to be. Decent beer selection for this type of lounge. Bartenders ranged from darned handsome to quite pretty to gorgeous. Unfortunately, they aired more on the side of inattentive than attentive. We came when it was quite slow, and they were switching out bartenders. I had no problem with them doing all the counting and printout stuff behind the bar… but they just ignored the customers; backs fully turned and everything. Eventually, the one guy took everyone’s orders, and literally made eight drinks at once, before turning his back again. A new customer came in, stood at the bar for ten minutes with no acknowledgement, and then left. Can’t blame him. The least you can do is greet the customer, and let them know you’ll be with them as soon as the transition is over. Beside that, the evening bartender was actually overly efficient, I think to compensate as he overheard my friend and I comment on the paragraph above ;-) That all kvetched about, I’d stick with beer if I came in again, as their signature drinks were weak. BUTMAJOR props for having videos playing which synced with the music playing(LOVE that!)!!!

Such great times at this place. there are occasional differ t type of shows going on. I have been here for comedy stand up, for drag shows. The music is pretty darn great. it gets pretty warm inside and that is not a problem when every one else is dancing the night away. Watch out for the stage though, many places to stumble, fall and drop your drink on someone(Oh, no he didn’t!!!) and the queens will have a fit! Every now and then they have done hello shots. those are not good anywhere you go, but if you are brave and want to get twisted, knock yourself out(literally)! They are pretty strong(maybe ever clear). The place has two bathrooms I believe. One is bigger and a personal stall next to the dance floor in the room in the left with the DJ. Love the Leichi martini. I have tried many times coming to get a Mojito and for some reason they are always out of mint leaves… starting to think they don’t really know how to make one. All in all a great smaller gay bar/dance floor. always nicer people than at industry. This is cool for a(gay) third date and bar hoping!

This place is cute. It’s a refreshing change from all the Hell’s Kitchen bars with the white décor I really like it. There’s a good amount of space and two bars when it gets busy on weekends. Mixed crowd and great drinks can’t really complain always have a good time when I come here.

I’ve always loved this bar and the new re-design of it proves that it just keeps getting better and better. The bartenders are as nice as they come for gay bars in Hell’s Kitchen. They always smile, they’re fast and they are very sexy. I highly recommend this bar your next destination. If you’re around Friday nights, you can catch me doing my new event there. The opening on 1÷24÷14 proved a major success and I plan to bring the same energy and excitement every Friday! Check out the event on FB:

Came here on a Friday night when we saw the bartender open the doors(it was around 5 pm), so yeah, early. But us out of towners walked all day(about 7 miles total), made fools of ourselves on the Bethanny Frankel show(in a good way of course – look for her first pajama party episode which actually airs on fox 11÷25÷13 and we will be the group wearing matching zebra onesies with bright pink feather boas.). After all that, you better believe we were gonna get our drinks on and have a martini. Or five. JT our bartender was sweet, friendly and made probably one of the best cosmos I’ve ever had! Get the cosmos made by JT people! I ordered a cosmo made with mandarin absolute. Sooooooo good! We had some time to kill before our dinner reservations so we just sat and enjoyed the cosmos. Thank you JT for such a fun time and the delicious cosmos. We will DEFINITELY be back and hope you are there. Come visit us in DC sometime! =)

Bar-Tini is a nice place to maybe start your Friday or Saturday night, but I don’t think It would be the ideal place to end up staying all night. The crowd is alright you can definitely see people coming and going. The DJ is plays a good mix of music and in the back there’s a dance floor with lights to keep you twirling and spilling your drinks all night. It can get a little foggy in here when they turn on the fog machine so if that makes you nervous grab a drink and a seat. There’s tons of other places to visit in Hells Kitchen so stop in for a drink or two and move on.

The day I went to Bar-Tini was the day I realized I have terrible«gaydar». I didn’t even know it was a gay bar until 3 minutes after I walked in! Don’t get me wrong, I love gay men! This was my first gay bar experience and I’m so glad it happened in New York. :) The people here are so nice! Our bartender was also really handsome!(Too handsome to be straight.). Bar-Tini, all I gotta say is, you popped my gay bar cherry. ;) I had fun, thank you!

Fog. Lots of fog. That describes the smoke effects shooting onto the dance floor as well as how my head felt the next morning. Having said that, once you cut through all that fog, the bartenders are friendly, the music was good and the crowd seemed friendly, even if I was probably the oldest person there. It is far over on 10th Avenue but I found a good Samaritan to escort me back to the relative safety of 9th Avenue when I left. Don’t ask what I had to do for that. On a completely different topic, does anyone have any Scope?
