Brod closed because of Greedy Workers . There’s a movement of people with in lieu with the certain law firms in Manhattan going after business owners and shaking them down for money. I hope all business owners stop hiring these Greedy Employess They did it to hot and crusty and now to brod and trying to Stanton pizza.

TERRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE. I came in for a salad and was served by Jamisha. I first started by saying«I’d like a romaine salad» and when she began filling the bowl with spinach I said«oh, I’m sorry, I asked for romaine.» She switched to romaine and then added quinoa. I said«excuse me, is that for me?» When she said yes I told her I hadn’t asked for quinoa. She said«you asked for the vegan salad.» I politely said, «no, I didn’t.» She aggressively threw the salad out and then muttered, «you asked for a vegan salad» again under her breath before beginning my new one, which took her an absurdly long time to make considering all I ordered was romaine, chicken, cheese, and beets. This also happened at 9pm at night when there were maybe 2 other customers in the whole store, so it’s not like she was overwhelmed with work or loud noise. Will never return.

I had a Vegan Salad today and let me tell you for $ 7.25 it was a delicious and very filling salad! The atmosphere and service was great ! Love it! Will be back many more times!

Good luck getting anyone’s attention by the middle section in the morning. Staff have their backs turned away from you as they prepare one item for a customer. Never does anyone look up or back to say, «I’ll be right with you.» Worse is this happens in front of the management who sit at the tables looking at their laptops ignoring what’s actually happening right in front of them. Cashiers constantly have to apologize for the poor service. This has been going on for months. They can’t get it right. I gave them some slack in the beginning because they were new to the area. I’m done. Based upon the other reviews, they clearly don’t seem to care.

I had a terrible experience there. The eggs were cold, the salad was mushy and not fresh and there was a bug in there! Staff was nice, but seemed stressed out. Definitely not going there again unless there’s improvements.

I called 3 times for a delivery and 3 times they hung up on me!!! What is this? That’s no way to run a business.

I had lunch here with a group of high school students who were looking at NYU. The place was crowded but the manager was very accommodating and while the food was not outstanding(especially the pizza), it was not bad either. I would definitely bring another group here for a quick pre-tour lunch.

The food is overpriced and the customer service is bad. The employees are nice enough, but there are never enough of them, perhaps because I’ve heard rumblings about employees not getting treated well.

Just called to order delivery but was hung up on. I called again to order delivery and was hung up on again. I’m not sure what type of business this is that doesn’t take delivery orders seriously but I think I’m going to look elsewhere in the future.

This place will not last if they keep operating this way. The customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Likely because they treat their employees a poorly. No one knows anything about what’s on the menu, lots of the employees looking at the menu board. They had a salmon salad in the case and I asked what was in it. Not one person could tell me what was in it. Not one. Really? I asked for scrambled eggs. It took forever and the eggs weren’t scrambled. They were prepared omelet style. If I wanted a plain omelet I would have made that request. Most recently I went in there and got the chicken with roasted vegetables. The roasted vegetables consisted of anemic looking asparagus. The interior is lovely. Modern and efficient, but who cares, if they can’t get it together?

This place really need to add some organization and team work skills — because when I was there it was rather shocking. We were a party of 6 and three of us ordered the vegan salads and the rest ordered from their sandwich menu. 20 minute wait for our salads! My friends waited for maybe 5 – 10 minutes for their sandwiches. However after 15 minutes they told us that they ran out of some kind of greens and told us we could all have any ingredient added to our salad. One guy has a big bowl with 2 servings of salad he was mixing and didn’t understand that maybe if I wanted tomatoes and my friend cucumber added we didn’t want both mixed(sigh). But I let that go because at that point I just wanted to have my lunch. Poorly poorly poorly organized which is a shame because the salad was actually really tasty.

The only redeeming thing about this place is their hot chocolate — it’s not too milky and has a subtle sweetness to it that’s not overpowering. However, 3⁄5 times I tried to get hot chocolate, they ran out. Their drink menu becomes so limited later in the day, you’re better off just going to Starbucks a block away. The food is mediocre at best. I had a breakfast sandwich here a few weeks ago, and all I remember is that it took over 15 minutes for me to get my food.

When I went into this place I didn’t expect that I was going to have the WORST salad ever. I can see the effort you try to integrate every easy to go foods into one store, but if they taste horrible, why would people even bother stepping in… The provided mixed greens have no idea about the balance of taste different greens and taste bitter. Also the choices of ingredients are rather narrow, tried really hard to pick 4. The staff who served me appeared to be on her very first day of making a salad as she chopped waaaaaay too over it should be. If I want a salad like that I would just order a vegetable smoothie instead. I really missed my crunchy croutons before they were chopped into crumbles and all soaked in the dressing sauce. Oh the dressing! I have only one question: why does your caesar dressing taste so sour like vinaigrette? Hope the store can do something about staff training and make wiser decisions about menu.

Meh, I wish I could say more than that. Wasn’t really clean when I came here. Location is great though, being its in the NYU ‘hood’. It did remind me a bit of another place called Fresh or something like that, I can’t recall the name now. The read I had was hard and dry, which was a total disappointment. Not sure if I’d come here again. The marketing skills are great though, because I was attracted to the minimal design. Customer service was okay, not great or bad, just meh. :/

This place is a mess. They need to get their act together before they’re shut down. The location is great, the atmosphere is nice, and the aesthetic is quite cute, however that doesn’t justify the ridiculousness of their business practices. Like other reviewers have mentioned, they have giant menu boards featuring items they don’t even sell, and the stuff they do sell is overpriced. I went in there the other day to try it, and I noticed that there was an ENORMOUS menu board, front and center right when you walk in the door, describing the smoothies they make. When I asked for one, however, the cashier informed me that they don’t make them anymore and that they’ll be «brought back» next summer… except they shouldn’t be considered«brought back» because they never bothered to serve them in the first place. So why, then, do they have a gigantic menu board of them at the front of the restaurant? Take the menu down if you’re not going to make them! Sheesh! As for the rest of the offerings, they’re pretty lackluster, not to mention too expensive for what you get. The pastries have a pre made appearance to them, and the hot food looks gross(I never bothered to try it). The staff are also pretty rude, like many others mentioned. They need to seriously rework their business, not to mention their menu, because the way it is now, they seem way too disorganized to be an operating business.

Good in a pinch, but don’t expect too much. I wandered around for a while because I was not really impressed with anything they offered, and finally settled on a ‘platter’ which consisted of a(super) tiny portion of grilled veggies(asparagus) and potatoes with ¼ of a rotisserie chicken. Seriously, the guy was majorly stingy. Not sure if it was worth the $ 6.75 that I paid — even though it did keep me relatively full for the rest of my evening. The employees are kind of standoffish(pretty sure they are NYU undergrads who really don’t care much for customer service) and don’t know much about the menu. if at all. The guy who helped me with my order looked at me with the most incredulous look ever when I asked him how the platter worked, like I was absolutely ridiculous for asking. Yet, there was NOTHING about the platter on the menu — which he admitted when I asked where the platter pricing was on the menu. So really, it wasn’t my fault, but thanks for making me feel like an idiot anyway. The food was okay — the potatoes were a little dry and a bit too salty, but I thought the chicken was just flavorful enough and still juicy. I will be back if I don’t have time to wander to the other side of NYU campus towards MacDougal, but this is definitely not my first choice of restaurants/cafes in the area. Props to them though, for capitalizing on such a prime piece of real estate. Unfortunately, it’s at the expense of all the NYU students who’d probably appreciate a much more affordable, tasty, and friendly establishment in the area.

Probably one of the worst bagels I’ve had in my life. The bagel was hard like a rock and toasted until it was black. I imagine this is what a brick tastes like. However, despite the terrible bagel, the atmosphere inside is really pleasant. Staff are really friendly and there are plenty of tables, outlets, and fast wi-fi. The display of the food looks really impressive, so I was surprised by how bad the bagel was. Hopefully other food items/drinks are better!

Went in thinking I’d hate it. I did. They didn’t have about 99% of the sandwiches on their menu, and there’s a sign saying they don’t have many menu items yet. I wanted a 3.25 egg sandwich. Had to get an 8.50 roast chicken sandwich. The herbs and eggplant spread made it edible, but the bread was too chewy and the chicken was dry. Also got a large iced tea. It comes out hot(fine) but is also very weak. So by the time you add ice, which is in small crushed pieces, you have tea-water, not tea. Line is also inefficient. Why do I have to wait on the coffee line to pay for a sandwich??? 10 bucks wasted. Sigh.

Its a fairly new and nice café with beautiful interior. Food is decently good but definitely overpriced. However, I can see that they’re trying to compete with prices of nearby markets like Cosi and Fresh & Co, so prices aren’t too far off. They just started serving hot food + salads as of today, Oct. 5th, and their Nordic pizza was actually really good! I could tell they used fresh ingredients, which was great, but i was expecting a little more«oomph» for a $ 3 slice. For those who complain the cookie was expensive… well it’s good and a huge cookie. Okay, $ 2.50 is a wee bit pricey(I would’ve loved $ 2) but this is a corner store and you’re paying for convenience. If you’re complaining about price, go to McDonalds and get a $ 1 batch of cookies… not here. The furniture is nice except for its chairs — they’re flimsy and every time i shift my butt around a bit, i feel like the high-chair will snap… and I’m only a standard 160 lb guy. The high-chairs are set too high, which makes no sense for those wanting to use laptops because those tech-users will have to uncomfortably arch their backs just to view at their screens. That being said, this is a perfect place for a date, as the seating environment is very subtle and encourages talking. Staff is also fairly nice too! Side note: Prior to the soft opening(when they only had the bakery section) they used to have beautiful Glass VOSS bottles of sparkling water. But they suddenly disappeared… what gives? I went there every morning to grab a bottle but now i feel so much less inclined, as there’s no sparkling water option at all. All in all, a nice café. Would I recommend? Yes. But there’s better ones out there if you walk a bit further. But seeing how close it is to my work-place, i’d come here every so often.

Pricey, and not my favorite pastries. They look gorgeous, just have very little pizazz. Latte’s were a bit weak, but I need them herculean.
