Not really sure how you can screw up a grilled cheese considering theres only 2, TWO, ingredients. Wrong bread, wrong cheese. Also took over 45 minutes to deliver about a block away.

Got a Gyro there is mostly lettuce barely any meat. The tables were filthy. Most of all they advertise one thing And charge another. Do not recommend this place.

First time eating here as I just moved into the neighborhood. The place has a juice bar, salad bar, sandwich, wrap and panini station and pastries along with a pizza section. Great! Everything I wanted under one roof. The pizza made me and my partner sick, the eclairs tasted like they were frozen and thawed and the service was all over the place. Nor a lot of customers, three or four guys manning the store and it took forever to get our food much less get anyone’s attention to take our order. Could I also mention the workers who just got off of their shift, sitting in the back area with other customers, getting drunk on beers while blasting music? Oh yeah, garbage was overflowing with trash and no one cared to clean anything up. I only give this place two stars for the variety and only because we had the pizza. I would not order from them again unless I was in a panic. So disappointing. Are all places on the UWS like this?

If I could give less I would… Ordered the egg white breakfast special which was egg whites, ham, turkey bacon, and pepper jack cheese on a whole wear wrap… That was posted for 5 $ including a free small coffee when the lady rung me up she claimed that the printed sign was wrong and the sandwich costs 8.50 because«double meat»… But your sign claimed that you get both meats in the wrap… Also free coffee with a special does not exist

I only come here for the salad bar(and the price at the salad bar, which is way cheaper than other nearby options). I can’t speak for the pastries, or the sandwiches, or even the beverage prices. Conveniently located near the subway and other similar salad bars, but I don’t enjoy those as much. They’ve got a ton of fresh veggies and assorted proteins and nuts and a decent variety of dried fruits and dressings. They should really consider better large containers for their salads-they have the good ones for small, but crap for large– when you shake your salad with the dressing, it will come out the sides. Ugh. Best roasted red pepper salad bar item that I’ve found so far. Stop here every once in a while for a slightly cheaper salad than Café on Broadway, and I don’t support Gigi anymore, but their salad bar is piff.

So good! They have great hot food, and the make your own salad is wonderful. I got 2 slices of pizza, a salad, and a coffee for $ 19. It was worth it! This is a great place to stop if you want a quick bite to eat, and they also have seating! They have a large selection of breakfast food, and a various different amount of pizza. Great place!

super close to me and i’ve gone out of my way to support local business that said, the food and coffee is below average furthermore,*management keeps tips from the tip jar* do not leave a tip until policy changes. i will take this down when management agrees to give tips to workers. until then, assume management takes the tip jar.

I just ordered breakfast from this café. What seemed to be a very inviting atmosphere turned out to be a joke. I ordered an omelette with mushroom and turkey bacon, and they charged me 9.00. The most expensive omelette on the menu is 6.00(which includes turkey bacon and turkey sausage). I was told since I had mushrooms, it changes everything, thus causing them to charge me 9.00, the head guy in charge just said«that’s the way it is». I will never go here again. Thanks for screwing up my morning.

Like my predecessor Unilocalers, this little deli/café presented a no-frills, cut-to-the-chase dining experience. But that’s really all you want or need in a deli, especially when you’re hungry and out looking for food in the rain. My friend and I stopped in for a quick breakfast on a gloomy Saturday morning while out exploring the city. We noticed this spot advertising a variety of breakfast options in their windows, so we decided to stop in. We were not prepared for the menu options, which were numerous to say the least. Tens of sandwiches, pizzas, a breakfast menu, salad, items in a display cooler, signs and signs everywhere advertising specials. It takes a few minutes to just figure out what are your options and which sign is displaying the full menu. I opted for an omelette breakfast sandwich, which had egg white, turkey sausage, spinach, and cheese. My friend had a sub, which came with a side salad and pickle. Overall, the food was decent, but there definitely wasn’t much of a wow factor. It filled the stomach and was moderately tasty. My sandwich was definitely a bit bland, while my friend thought her sub could have used a bit more mustard. Service-wise, the attending cashiers were polite if not a bit reserved. They packaged our sandwiches quite nicely, though, and were very quick with our orders. Overall, a nice place to stop and get a quick meal. Seating is tight, so definitely have takeout as an option.

I feel you have to take this place for what it is: an unassuming deli/café with some items that are reasonably priced, and other items set to take advantage of their location. The pizza/italian fare looked good, some of the salads which had been sitting all day were wilted and wet on the bottom, sandwich/panini selection looked solid, as did the chopped salad section. The staff were patient enough when I did a couple laps around the place figuring out what I wanted. They accommodated my request for three salads atop fresh spinach. Initially I was taken aback by the cost(which was calculated by the pound), and thought, «Y’all are not Mangia…*grumble grumble grumble*». But I changed my mind as soon as I dug in. The albacore tuna, chunky white meat chicken, and honey mustard salads were all quite good. The scoops were very generous, and enough for two meals. Fair pricing when all that was considered. It’s a no frills, get your food, sit/go, convenient joint. Not trying to be anything else. Just gotta know what to get and what not.

This place is great for when you are in the area and need a quick but satisfying bite. Table space is tight but the owner was more than willing to allow my large family to take over on a Saturday evening. They have everything from sandwiches to pizza to fresh juices. I went with a slice of pizza and one of their veggie sandwiches and found them both to be tasty. I’m often up that way to attend and give performances and would have no problem grabbing food from them again. Hits the spot!

Stopped in here for a quick bite, and actually it’s better than your average 100-menu-items deli/café(although it does have that much, or more). I got a couple pizza slices from here and was impressed with the quality from a place not necessarily specializing in it. A few other people in our party got sandwiches and entrees, everyone was happy. Not haute cuisine in any right, but good for what it is, a quick bite.

We stopped in for lunch.(My elderly mom is very finicky). We all found the food excellent(she had a BLT and said it was fine which for her is a five star review). My daughter had a lunch special: salmon and 2 sides. Salads and sandwiches were well prepared. Be aware you have to order at the counter and then take it to your seat if you are eating here. No waiters. Just an FYI not a criticism. The staff was courteous and helpful. This would also be a great place to grab something to go.

Best place in the upper west side for cheap, fast, great late night delivery. I order from here at least once a week. Although their dining room is pretty spartan, it’s usually empty and has a sidewalk view at an entertaining corner. The burgers are exceptional and only 5 – 6 bucks. Huge nice beef patty on a big brioche bun. Panties, sandwiches and pressinis are excellent. Gyros and Pizza also good. Order the fries extra crispy. They are steak fries. Not sure where the negative reviews of this place are coming from. All the one star reviews sound like they were written by the same person. Nowhere in the UWS has food delivery, fast and cheap that is as good as Café 71.

I would give them more stars if it weren’t for the rude delivery people. Each time they say they’re downstairs for a long while. I ask them what number they’re calling. They’re calling my cell that’s part of the account but in the DELIVERYINSTRUCTIONS it says to call my work number. Just recently yesterday I ordered breakfast and lunch and both delivery people didn’t read the delivery instructions. We wanted to see if it’s just one delivery person or all of them. Sure enough, all of them do not look at the delivery instructions. You can have DONOTPUTNUTSINSALADORELSEITWILLKILLME and they still wouldn’t read it. It’s not my fault you’re waiting down there if you’re not calling the right number. I’m at work, I cannot pick up my cell! These different individuals barely speaks English so they have NOCLUE to read the delivery instructions. I also have instructions saying I do not need utensils to stay green and they keep on providing utensils. When they deliver any coffee, it’s in a plastic bag, BUT it’s still spilling. No napkins on top of the lid to prevent spills and no cup holder to prevent hands from burning. My coffee always ends up with a soggy cup.

I was in the area with family friends and we stumbled across this place after walking for what seemed like forever. We were 4 adults and 3 children so finding a place to eat for a larger group was a bit of a challenge. Café 71 offers a huge menu to choose from. They serve breakfast and lunch. There is seating to one side of the establishment. A bit tight in size for my taste but we made due. Most people ate quickly and left. We ordered wraps, pizza and burgers. Everything came out hot and fairly quickly. The restaurant has the option for take out which is great. They offer a ton of different desserts which were displayed very nicely as you walk in.

Let me give you a fresh perspective. The food here is about as fresh as a Unilocaler writing a review of «food is good here» at a restaurant that has been reviewed over 9,000 times. This place is simply not very good. Please do not microwave your hot food in front of me. I can taste it. It makes me sad. $ 8 + $ 11 = $ 27? Tax is 8 dollars? Since when did they start adding State tax, Federal tax, Social Security, and Medicare tax to sales tax? Oh wait, they just try to charge you more when you are not looking. Watch your food and your bill.

Great location, well kept inside, wide selection — but terrible service! I’ve ordered here so many times for pick-up and delivery, and 99% of the time they’ve messed something up on my order. What I would mainly get from here are their pizza bagels. I specifically ask that they only make them on plain bagels, and if that they do not have any to cancel my order. And do they ever do this for me? No. They end up giving me any bagel they have, from pumpernickel to wheat, I mean the combinations of the different kinds were endless; not to mention absolutely disgusting. On top of all of that, I only work about a block away, which means it shouldn’t take too long for things to be delivered … right? Wrong. It has taken over an hour one time to get our order, and sometimes up to 30 minutes. In the end it takes way too long to get your order delivered no matter how close you are, and even after all that waiting they still can’t get the order right. I’ll probably still get their pizza bagels from time to time, since they are the only place that serves them; but if I can help it I’d stay away.
