A single piece of toast with avocado on it cost $ 8. Shocking price gouge in my opinion. It tasted pretty good.

I hate drinking a hot beverage when warm and unfortunately i have been served a warm warm latte here when I stopped by to pick a quick breakfast yesterday morning. I got the avocado French toast with an egg on the top, I am not an expert of French toasts but egg might be nicer inside or the avocado, having everything on the top is a bit hard to manage while eating and gets cold faster, still it was okay. The place is so bright, has like 5 – 6 tables inside. Not good for groups, 2 – 3 people max. Toast is $ 8, egg is extra charge, I paid like $ 15 with the latte but it is a bit expensive for a toast and small latte. Pastries looked fresh and good so I may stop to try them. Let’s see.

Ordered a matcha tea latte, not sure what I got. It was a green concentrate mixed that’s pretty sweet and basically just plain green tea, not matcha. I even questioned the batista. He assured me it was matcha. Every matcha latte I’ve had was made with matcha tea powder and had a distinctly different flavor. For $ 6 I’m really disappointed.

Is this place serious with their prices? Overpriced coffee to start with and then they charged me an additional $.50 for a splash of soy milk in a regular iced coffee(NOT a latte or capp). If the coffee was actually amazing I might understand but not anything great to speak of. With so many coffee shops within just a few blocks’ radius, good luck. Also rude service to boot.

A nice place to enjoy the afternoon coffee and sunshine. Italian style. Macaron not too sweet. Nice coffee.

I’ve been here a total of twice with one of my best friends since we were craving an acai bowl and were around the NYU langone area. Café la cerra definitely has a great outer appearance and is very aesthetically appealing(lots of white, lots of marble). There’s decent seating(around 5 round tables and some bar seats) and doesn’t ever seem to be packed according to the two times that I’ve been here. I can’t speak for the coffee here as I’ve never tried but the iced teas are decent and nothing special. They just brew it with hot water for a few minutes and pour it over ice. The acai bowls are topped with some fresh berries(assortment of black, blue and rasberries) and some coconut flakes and granola. It was decent tasting but the berries were kind of sour. I’ve been here twice and I think that might be enough for me since I’m not in the area often anyways.

I came here for an espresso and to work for a few hours. It was ok. Not really somewhere I’d come back to. There wasn’t much to the espresso and while the space was clean, for some reason, it didn’t feel very inviting. If you like white marble or faux white marble, this is your spot. The wifi was pretty solid though and the music not too loud to where concentrating on work was difficult. Service was meh.

Stay away from the almond croissant! The one we had was 5 days old at the least. Such a shame because it is a cute place.

In short — super slow delivery times and terrible service. Avoid at all costs if you value your time and money. Ordered from Seamless and restaurant quoted a 30−40min delivery time. Called 50mins later to see why the delivery had not arrived, and was told the delivery was already en route. Another 20mins later, the food had still not arrived. Called again to let the restaurant know I had to leave my apt and no one would be there to pick up the food — no apology or response besides a flat«OK». Ultimately, food arrived 2 hours late after I had already called ahead to inform the restaurant I would be away from home and unable to pick up food at that point. They had said the food was«on its way»…perhaps they had to take a scenic detour through all 5 boroughs before actually delivering it.

This review is based on my experience via Seamless. I ordered breakfast at 9:35 am, and the delivery estimate was 10:30 am. I had to be somewhere at 11:15 so I would’ve had about half an hour to eat, which isn’t bad at all. But I waited and waited, and it was 10:40, so I called the restaurant. They said my food was about to be delivered now. So I waited… And it was 11:05 so I absolutely couldn’t stay anymore and left. When I came back an hour later, the doorman said they came at 11:30. That’s an hour later than their delivery time. I think one hour for a small breakfast order is already too long of a wait, but they showed up TWO hours later. Sure, restaurants experience busy times, but doubling the wait time — without any notice — and lying that the food was just arriving at the door is a HUGE no, no. I doubt I’ll ever order again from this place.

They make a great cappuccino. Would highly recommend. Also they accept the CUPS app. For those of you who don’t know what it is, its an app where you prepay for cups of coffee at a pretty decent price or pay for a monthly membership where you can get unlimited amounts of coffee. I signed up for the 5 cups of specialty coffee which is normally $ 18 but I had a $ 10 coupon because I’m a first time user. So I can now get 5 cappuccinos for $ 8 bucks! You can use my CUPS Code: s25im for $ 10 off your first CUPS plan.

I come(well, came — now past tense) here about 3 times p/week bc it’s near my daughters school. Today they gave me my coffee filled about ¾ of the way — and when I asked if they could fill it to the top, was told that was«the amount I paid for.» Which clearly had to do with the fact that I used the Cups app to purchase my drink, as I do every time(the quality is not at all worth the full price). They shouldn’t accept Cups if that’s how they’re going to treat customers using it. And they haggled with a regular customer over a few ounces of DRIP coffee? Really? Poor customer service, subpar quality. The convenience is no longer worth returning.

I’m reserving full judgement of this place, since I have only been here once so far, so I’m mainly writing this for a refresher on my first experience when(and if) I return to update my review. However, any experience is worth mentioning in any review, and first impressions are especially important. The aesthetic of the place is nice with all of the white, although the tables are rather tiny and would barely fit more than drinks. Sound does carry a bit, and it’s a bit cramped; I would not like to come here when it’s full. I ordered a latte to stay, which ran me $ 4.50, a standard price. The cup seemed a bit smaller than I was used to, but the taste of the espresso was much stronger than I’m used to, so it was a fair trade off, in my opinion. What gets me is the service. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t have to wait ridiculously long for a single drink, especially since the place wasn’t even half full. However, I noticed a few small things that irked me. For one, my cup came without a saucer. Yes, there are saucers on the side, and I prefer without anyway, but it is the fact that I noticed that all of the other customers received their drinks on a saucer. Minor, but strike one. Second, I noticed that during the time that I was there, two slices of complimentary cake were brought out to two separate female customers. This, too is minor, and would be negligible if not for the fact that both times, I noticed that even the ladies’ experience ordering was met much more cordially than the detached, almost annoyed questioning I got. The major strike that dropped this review an entire star: the latte art. Legitimately two-thirds of the reason I go to cafes and pay $ 5 for a drink is for latte art, which gives me warm fuzzies inside. However, I got this. Not sure what it was supposed to be, but I am disappointed. I would have been satisfied with even a simple rosette.

Revisited Café La Cerra today and it seems like the establishment has really taken into consideration the feedback from the customers. I’m impressed with the presentation of the acai and granola bowls, which greatly improved from the last time I was here. Check my previous review for the disappointing, sad-looking acai bowl I had. The bowls are now very consistent(from what I see on Unilocal and Instagram)! Not sure if it’s because I was here on a Sunday, but the café was pretty packed! Nonetheless, I had a great time catching up with a friend here and we both enjoyed our drinks. The barista was friendly as well. Overall, I think this café has improved and I’ll be coming back more often!

Not bad. We got lattes, which were good. Not terrible but not amazing. I also ordered an acai bowl because I’ve never tried one before but it was meh. It definitely wasn’t worth $ 9. The décor was spot on though. I would definitely go back just for the atmosphere. When I went there, which was back in July on a weekday at around 4:30, it wasn’t packed. It would be a nice place to chat with a friend or to study and sip on a cup of coffee.

New coffee shop in Murray Hill — delicious cold brew coffee, which is great to have if you’re walking downtown on a hot summer day! Pristinely decorated inside, white walls, modern décor. They also have some tasty baked goods and avocado toast!

I was on my way to the 6, and heading towards Gregory’s Coffee to pick up an iced coffee to go, when I bumped into Café La Cerra and decided to check it out because a Facebook friend of mine had posted on Facebook AND Instagram her experience at Café La Cerra, which means that it was subliminally on my radar(but does that make sense). Forgive the run-on sentence. Anyhow, the décor is super cute. I dig, I dig. Service was fine — the woman behind the counter was really sweet. As for the iced coffee? It needs a little work. And maybe more caffeine. It could be me, but I like my coffee dark, and with a bit of a kick. This iced coffee tasted very cool, muted. At one point I was confused about whether this was iced tea. But maybe I caught an anomalous brew. I will definitely be back.

I absolutely love the minimalist white décor of this café! It was perfect for me to get in some early morning work on my laptop, and I quite enjoyed sitting by the wide windows with the sunlight streaming in. It wasn’t crowded either, and there are about 4 tables with plenty of seats. I am a tea-lover, so I only got a tea and can base my review off of that. The tea is as good as hot peppermint tea gets. It came in a cute little tea pot, and I was also able to ask for free refills of the hot water. Next time, I will be sure to get a food item too.
