Corn Dip and Mac Bite was very delicious and flavorful along with the creamy texture with Truffle flavor. Designer Burger with roasted tomato and goat cheese is by far the best I’ve had! Crème Caramel is the best!

The place was filthy. The floor was full of fries, paper, bread crumbs, etc. the servers there are a piece of work. The bread was dry, and they forgot my fries and the appetizer. The hostess was complaining loudly to the manager about her leaving to drop off something, or something like that, and everybody was witnessing that disgusting scene while eating. Really an awful experience. I gave it one star because the food wasn’t awful.

After an exhausting and frustrating shopping day as I looked for a bday outfit… I was starving since I had not eaten since breakfast. I had a late lunch at Flip with the bestie who was in town from West New York. There aren’t many restaurants in the area and we wanted a place where we could grab a bite before she had to head out. We decided to go to Flip since it is conveniently located inside of Bloomingdales. I was disappointed with the fact that I did not find my outfit and was hoping for some good grub to heal my broken heart. We got mini bottles of Zardetto Prosecco which were priced at 11 dollars, I found this a great deal since each bottle had two glasses worth of bubbly. Our food took a little longer than expected since there weren’t many patrons in the restaurant, and our wonderful waitress Lauren who was sweet to us from the start came with her manager to let us know there was a miscommunication about our order, not only did they apologize for the delay but they also comped us another Zardetto Prosecco:) When the food came the tuna was cooked perfectly and did not have the fishy taste which I was very happy about. The skinny fries are crispy just like I love them with the right amount of salt on them. This is a perfect spot to meet up with friends or even to head by yourself after a Bloomingdales shopping date!

The burger was great. Definitely enough to enjoy for lunch, even without the fries. I got the Hearty(short rib blend) patty(med. rare — cooked perfectly), which they call a burger blend, with Grafton Village Aged Vermont Cheddar on a toasted plain brioche bun. It was larger than expected and comes with leaf lettuce and two slices of tomato for $ 12(fries are separate). The space was open, light and serves boozy milkshakes(to be tried and reviewed [possibly] at a later date) with a small bar or many tables. It’s hard to find in the basement maze of Bloomingdales, but surprisingly pleasant. My only gripe with the food is that they presented the burger as such: bottom bun, burger, melted cheese and top of bun with lettuce and tomato on the side. The cheese stuck to the top of the bun instead of infusing the burger, but this is just a little blip on an otherwise quality and delicious product.

Twelve bucks for a burger may seem like a lot, but why’d you choose to eat at a place in Bloomingdales, in NYC that offers wagyu, short rib and brisket burgers? In other words, take a look around then reconsider that whole complaint about cost. The patties seem to be around the 5 – 6 oz range and are cooked to order. Lots of toppings and bun choices available to experiment with. A separate order of fries is crispy, greaseless and decently sized. And if root beer floats are your thing, they make a really good one. You can even see the vanilla beans in the ice cream. They do the burger basics right here, but the surprise star of the show is the float.

While shopping inside Bloomingdales, I decided to stop in Flip for a quick lunch. This was my first time going to Flip. The first thing I noticed was the $ 14 per person minimum for any dining in service. I figured that seemed a little steep for a burger joint but was too hungry to care. The restaurant itself is a full service bar and restaurant tucked away in a big corner of the lowest level of Bloomingdales(in the men’s department). The décor is bright and fun and makes for a nice place to catch your breath after shopping! The thing to get at Flip is one of the Flip burgers, but in my opinion, on the Build Your Own menu rather than their specialty menu. You can customize with everything from a super beefy patty, super sweet beef patty, fish, or even a chicken patty. I went for the«refined» Angus patty medium well with American cheese on the classic sesame seed bun which was excellent. The meat was fresh and the portion was huge making a $ 12 burger worth it. I added a side of skinny fries for $ 5 and asked for a cup of the Cajun seasoning to add to the fries which was delicious and spicy! Overall it ended up being a $ 22 lunch which was way more than I wanted to spend/expected from a burger joint, but the service and food quality were great that I do suppose it would be worth the treat for the convenience while shopping.

Best burger I have ever had. Don’t come to NYC and miss this place. You get to choose you protein. I had the short rib burger. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. It was so juicy. I also had a section of toppings and breads. It was with the $ 12.00 price.

It’s unfortunate that I can’t give this place more than a 3 star rating, due to the fact their Kobe beef burger surpassed every low-standard expectation I had. It was even, honestly, one of the better burgers I’ve had while in NYC.(Easily better than the infamous«Burger Joint» not far down the street.) But where food soared, service lacked. Of the 12 – 13 tables in the small room tucked away in a corner of Bloomingdales, I want to estimate that I saw 2 servers between them. Ours having 6 of her own that I could count. While she was personable to some extent, you can only keep up w/so many requests. My guest and I waited 15 minutes after we were finished eating to receive the check and 10 until she got it back. I’d possibly come back for the burger, but wouldn’t go out of my way.

Terrible experience from beginning to end. Restaurant was partially full yet we had to wait 15 minutes for them to clean off table. Took another 10 minutes to be greeted. Burgers were wayy overcooked and the manager do was rude offered nothing to rectify the situation. Drinks were awful as well.

It’s appropriate that Flip is hidden, er, situated in the men’s department on the lower level of Bloomingdale’s. The concept is a bespoke burger, where you select the raw materials and it is tailored just for you. First, the Pat LaFrieda meat. You can pick from three different beef options: short rib, brisket or wagyu. Or you can have lamb. Or turkey. Or veggie. Then the bread, from the classic sesame seed bun(who remembers that old joke about identifying Ronald McDonald naked?) to rye bread, brioche and a handful of others. Next it’s the toppings: a dazzling array of cheese, condiment, sauce, and vegetal options. And the sides — four(count ‘em) different types of fries or onion rings. Since burger preferences are intensely personal — determined by nostalgia and experience — I think customizing them to this extent is a stroke of genius. Me, I tend toward mushroom swiss burgers, and had a short rib one today on a hot pepper Asiago bun. My Spanish friend who doesn’t have a history with American burgers, went for a brisket blend topped with a tandoori onion ring and cheddar cheese. He could just as easily have combined blue cheese and avocado, or bread and butter pickles with BBQ sauce. The permutations and combinations are endless. My onion rings and his«chubby» fries were both greaseless and tasty as hell, and our burgers were cooked perfectly. There are some annoyances built into the Flip experience. The nearest ladies room is two floors up and a seemingly kilometer away. The service is very slow but accurate. It might take 10 minutes to get a glass of water, but it comes eventually. And in a weird logistical glitch, the restaurant was out of beef when we arrived. Soon boxes stenciled with Pat LaFrieda were being carried through the dining room in an endless stream. I’ve eaten at Flip several times and never been disappointed in the food quality or the cooking technique. Take that Burger Joint. Pow, right in the kisser.

If you desire a mouthwatering burger, is hard to pass up this place, because their burgers are ohhhhhhhh my goodness heaven. Every bite tasted amazing, that I had to quickly train myself to slow down and enjoy my meal. Do you know in every bite I’ve taken, I actually warped back in time and saw myself in the 80s theme eating the classic burger. That almost flipped my mind; I guess that’s the reason this place is called Flip. After a few bites now I understood why a few cartoon characters constantly eat burgers, such as Jughead and the dude from Popeyes, is because of stores like this.

If it’s not obvious, this is in the basement of Bloomingdales. I walked in, sat at the bar, and ordered a burger. Simple order, This bun, that patty, with salad. The bartender seemed tired and dejected, as if he was disappointed I didn’t order a drink or more toppings. When the burger arrived it was the wrong bun, right patty, but no salad. Can’t say the burger tasted amazing either. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad, but not worth $ 12 — especially considering it took 20 minutes to come from the kitchen. There are so many great places nearby, why would you eat here?

Same review as last time. Burgers are great, Fries are OK. The floor is so disgustingly dirty, there is food everywhere. I have never seen anyone clean it up. The menus are still dirty. If you can get past that, good place for burgers.

Great food! My husband and I split a chocolate milkshake and garlic aioli steak fries. I got a veggie burger(phenomenal) on pepper and asiago bun with pepperjack cheese and avocado. My husband had the brisket blend burger on the same bun with pepperjack cheese. Everything was absolutely delish. Fast service, friendly staff. A little pricey but worth it.

Absolutely worst place to eat. Service was extremely Slow. It took almost 30 minute to get food. The restaurant was half empty. Food was below average. Rather expensive for the quality. They have mandatory rule which is minimum $ 15 per customer during lunch hours. Also, they automatically charge tip and have balls to ask for additional tip. The waitress screwed up the check, so I asked her to correct it. She gave me a copy of receipt showing correct amount. However, when I checked my credit card transaction, incorrect amount. was charged on my account.

We stopped in for a quick lunch during a break and were seated immediately. It was rather empty around 11:45, but did start filling up after 12. My veggie burger was a Dr. Praeger burger which I can’t complain about since I love those. I had it on top of a Caesar salad, which was a surprisingly good combination. The coffee was also excellent and they actually frothed the milk that came with it! The chubby fries were pretty good, as well, and had a nice, crispy shell. Service was decent and the food came out pretty quickly.

Good burger and milkshake. Quite good for a department store restaurant. My Kobe beef blend on traditional sesame seed bun and chubby fries was great. Chocolate milkshake was really good and larger than expected, for the price. Tucked away off the corner of the Mens department on the lower level, it’s worth hunting for.

Everything I had here was great, and one star was removed only for the overpricing which wasn’t even THAT offensive considering the location. The burger and bun was excellent, I loved the ability to build burgers and service was fast enough for a relaxing lunch. The steak fries are exactly like my favorite fries from a childhood restaurant, and they were definitely worth the side order charge.

Been wanting to try Flip for the longest time as my pretty traveling companion LOVES it. And since she was in need of copious amounts of kitchen supplies only procured at Bloomie’s, we went on a shopping trip. Flip is a burger joint, tucked into the men’s side of the building. It’s a very small seating area, accompanied by a bar. Upon walking into the place, we weren’t greeted warmly, nor were we seated quickly – even with the numerous empty tables. Once seated, Michael was our very personable server. We ordered… I built a burger of my own and my partner in crime had a salad with a burger on top. I requested a side of steak fries with garlic aioli. Um, wow. Holy French fries, Batman. I’ve never had such good steak fries. Burger was good… standard fare. But the mozzarella I requested was FRESHMADE. No shredded bag cheese here. Bacon was good, thick pieces, too. I ordered a chocolate milkshake that was quite the tasty addition to my meal. We really liked the place. We really liked our server. We really disliked the surly bartender and the Bloomingdale’s associate/manager who walked in, sat down, loudly announced he was our server’s «immediate superior» and demanded the associate menu. My companion and I looked at each other and said, «jerk», simultaneously. When in Bloomies and craving a burger, go here. You will enjoy it. Just don’t take the surly bartender to heart.
