When planning to eat out in New York, one should really plan ahead to avoid ending up at Goodburger while on one’s supposed vacation. I’m not saying that Goodburger is a bad place to eat, but it is pretty bad when you’re thousands of miles from home in one of the best food cities in the world. I came to this Goodburger branch on a Friday night, when I was stranded in New York thanks to Sandy. I guess it has since closed, which I was initially surprised by, and then not really surprised by at all. The place was pretty quiet when other restaurants on the block were very full. It was a little too mediocre to pay the rent, would be my guess. I’d had Goodburger a couple times before, back in 2007 and 2008, both in one of the downtown branches and by delivery. I have a distinct memory of holding a Krabby Patty right in front of my face and thinking it was the biggest burger I had ever seen.(I was not entirely sober for that meal.) I have no problem with the food, but it’s nothing special. It’s fast food fare with some lazy Nickelodeon nostalgia thrown in. The classic cheeseburger is a safe order, and this is what I got for my recent dinner. It came on a floppy grocery store potato bun with a thin patty, cheese, and the standard lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion. It’s a fair burger, but one made irrelevant by the proliferation of Five Guys. The patty isn’t particularly flavorful or high quality, but it’s all easy enough to eat. The fries are forgettable, but I did enjoy my strawberry milkshake. I also remember liking the Krabby Patty, which was some sort of fried crab cake burger with tartar sauce and, one would hope, top secret ingredients that may or may not include plankton. I have a real soft spot for SpongeBob. Service was fast and reasonably polite, and we were in and out of Goodburger in vey little time. It was a little expensive for what it was, but tasty enough. This sort of meal is sometimes desirable, though again, not really on vacation. I wouldn’t seek Goodburger out when in New York, and I guess New Yorkers felt the same way. ‘90s kid nostalgia isn’t enough to save anyone.

A damn good burger. I live in the neighborhood, and, when I do go out for a(VERY) good burger I go somewhere else(ain’t saying — ‘f off tourists). My best friend brought me a burger fro GoodBurger about a month ago — from U. Sq. I had a craving, yesterday, and — lo — what do I see as I’m crossing the street? ANOTHER GoodBurger(I know nothing about them). I ran in(11.45a) and, quickly ordered. Withing MINUTES, the place was PACKED. A week-day lunch stampede. I got my stuff to go, and, when me and my friend decided to order today, I said; ‘I hope they take phone orders.‘ They do. Quick couple of points from the ‘expert in nothing.‘ Regarding burgers; just because a burger is big, DOESN’T mean anything about quality. I say that, because there’s a(HORRIBLE) chain of Jackson Holes that sell gigundo burgers, and, a lot of people who’ve eaten there swear by ‘em. they’re terrible. They’re low-grade beef. At GoodBurger, their beef is HIGHER grade. And, it’s aptly shown — not only in the taste, but, in the bite. It’s a god ‘bite.’ It doesn’t fall apart on you. It stays in your mouth — where it belongs. And, what a flavor! I would suggest anyone who wants GoodBurger to order on the phone, or online. Either pick up, or have delivered. The line(during the lunch hour) is crazy. Forget grabbing a table. The burger at GoodBurger is PDC(pretty damn close) to the taste/quality of my favorite local burger. A side note to some IDIOT, who reviewed the 8002nd Ave. GoodBurger — a dimwit named ‘Christine C,’ who(stupidly) said;’…I like this place but not because I love it’s burger. The overall feel of this place is just so nostalgic, the old pop songs and the soda fountain drinks…‘ I don’t know if all GoodBurgers are owned by the same owner, but, for goodness sake, Christine — if you’re reviewing a RESTAURANT, talk about the FOOD, you moron. So, back to the 54⁄2 GoodBurger; great burger, order take-away, on-line, or on the phone. But, anyway you get it, it’s a damn good burger.

I happen to work near goodburger so I have ordered from there a few times. It looks like any other fast food place when you go in, unfortunately the food is not fast. The burgers are small and have nothing special about them. The only plus side is that they offer sweet potato fries and shakes. With that said don’t expect it to be a cheap lunch. A burger, fries, and a shake will set you back $ 20 even if you take it to go. That’s really rather pricey for blaise fast food. The burgers are just as good an avenue over at five guys. +Sweet potato fries +Shakes –Price –Wait –So/So food

This place gets PACKED during lunch hours, but they still do a great job at getting you in-and-out of there fast.(it’s the NYC way) The burgers are great, fries rock, and the chili is delicious ! Theit chicken sandwiches are also very good. They use to have a great veggie burger but for some weird reason they changed it and I stopped having it cause it tasted like compressed corn. Cool spot nonetheless

I would say this place is a tad bit expensive. $ 14 for a burger, fries, and a small drink? The cup isn’t even medium size! However the burger was delicious but not worth that price. 5 Guys Burger is way better! They need to lower their prices!

Ordered a double burger and the patties were half the size of a hockey puck and it was OVERCOOKED(as dry as saw dust). With so much competition out there… i.e. Shake Shack, Five Guys, even McDonalds… they should at least make a better product or drop the price!!! Good Burger? B.S.

I’ve had their burgers, fries, and fish and chips. Burger was okay, but too expensive to be worth it. Their fries are decent. McD’s has better fries. Their cheese fries are skimpy – they literally take like one slice of cheese and microwave it on top – thats it. Their fish and chips – the fish was pretty soggy and not flavorful. I had a coworker who happened to order a grilled cheese sandwich – he said it was horrible and burnt. When i went in the line was huge and there were tons of people waiting. they seem very slow as well. I actually placed my order online and went in the store to pick it up. They still ended up forgetting a meal and I had to go back to correct it. Not a huge deal, but annoying considering that even though I waited 30 minutes before arriving to the restaurant(the online order said it wld be ready in 15 – 20 min) I still had to wait an additional 15 – 20 minutes for my food. I even had time to leave to buy a soda elsewhere and come back. Not sure what the hoopla is over when the food is as average as can be – AND you’re paying midtown prices. No bueno. Would rather go to Five Guys.

Don’t get me wrong, Goodburger was in fact good. Their sweet potato fries were appropriately crispy — I hate soggy SP fries. I got a classic with everything, cheese, and bacon. It also was good — very juicy and the toppings fresh. However it was $ 14 for the burger, fries, and a small drink. I realize it’s midtown in NYC, but still, for what it was, it was a bit expensive. If I was wandering down the street again, I would maybe stop in. However I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to stop in again.

Having a small lunch that was not filling to fully bear substance, hours later at 6:30pm I was near passing out from sheer utter exhaustion. Service is efficient to place my order and wait to be served. Staff is courteous and operate like a factory for impersonalization though somewhat with a smile. Orders are served on a first name basis. One classic medium burger with«The Works» at an unruly $ 6.43 was weak for an upgrade of McDonald’s quality. It was microscopic small in size though juicy, albeit surely not U.S.D.A. prime quality beef. Goodburger drained my food allowance for the week for a microscopic small burger alone, no side order and certainly no drink. This so-called burger certainly has the standards for a slider. Yet all in all at the end my stomach was still was not fulfilled, not complete. Extreme disappointment indeed.

Average and fair. But I dont like all those«extra» surchages. We are getting a burger, not buying each ingredients as shopping for grocery man. Johnny Rockets’s better. Burger House’s like 10 times better.

3.5 stars. The burgers here are a good value especially if you’re looking for a quick cheap lunch. I usually get delivery and they’re pretty quick. The patty could be slightly juicier but it does the job. I have also tried the hot dog and thought it was better than average as well. All in all, a solid midtown lunch option.

1) Shake Shack /In-And-Out 2) Five Guys 3) Red Robin . . . . . . 100) Goodburger FOOD: It’s alright. It’s no Shake Shack. The prices are overpriced and the food is only so-so in my opinion, above avg a little bit. I got the double patty and they didn’t even remember to ask how I wanted it cooked. I didn’t mention it because I was tired and absent minded. Didn’t realize they didn’t ask me until my order came out. The shake was alright, a little thin if you like that. I prefer Braum’s milk shakes to this, if you know what Braum’s is. ATMOSPHERE: Probably where they are getting their stars. It’s very clean and has a retro diner vibe to it. They also provided a television for sports/etc so that was nice. Plenty of seats and spacious in a way. SERVICE: Friendly and Helpful. SUMMARY: If you want an overpriced above McDonald’s quality burger then come here. I would probably never come back only for convenience that is me being in the area and craving a burger.

What’s with all the hate people? This place is definitely better than the Goodburger in Union Square, and the food is fresh and great! Ambiance:A It’s quite pleasant inside; clean and neat with an aesthetically pleasing interior that’s not depressing or icky like your typical fast food places. There’s plenty of tables that are adequately spaced a part and not too close to each other, unlike the Goodburger in Union Square where I had to squeeze between tables to get a seat. Service:B+ Service was OK, the cashier was polite and courteous. She forgot my bf’s drink, but she didn’t gave me an attitude when I reminded her of the drink and she apologized for the wait. Other than the forgotten drink, we didn’t have to wait too long for our food. Food:A+ The Crispy Chicken sandwich with the works(Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Pickles, Mayo) was around $ 9. Much to my surprise, the ingredients were fresh. The lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles were crisp and not soggy or bland like the sad excuse of toppings you would find in other places. The chicken was incredibly juicy and tender. I saw the effing juices! The chicken had savory yummy juices! It was flavorful and moist in the inside with a nice crisp on the outside. This has to be the best chicken sandwich I’ve had in a long time. It’s better than those I had in dine-in restaurants and it’s way superior to the ‘chicken’ crap they have in the more popular chain places. Maybe this sandwich was a fluke, but it was a yummy perfect fluke. Fires– thin, crispy and yummy. They don’t give you enough for $ 2.53 Vanilla Egg Cream-$ 3.22 Sweet and refreshing and very tasty. Arnold Palmer– One of the better half ice tea half lemonade concoctions I’ve tried. Not too tangy or acidic. Just right. It is very pricey but if you have a craving for fast food and you want to try something new, give this particular Goodburger location a shot.

Wow. Officially the worst burger place in the world. I ordered a chicken burger to go, and it looked like hell and tasted like a piece of burnt tire. It was SO stiff that one bite completely took out the rest of my sloppy burger! The lettuce looked like a million years old and the entire thing was just a tasteless mess and waste of money. I tried to eat about 3 bites and it was so gross I just tossed it. Garbage!!! The chili cheese fries didn’t do too well on the ride for delivery, so I suggest eating AT the restaurant(if you HAVE to eat here) because they were 1 big piece of solid grease and cheese. The best part of the meal was the shake. I remember that they do have really yummy shakes but they are SOSMALL for a $ 5 shake! Knowing that Shake Shack exists, can this place please close down and become another location? Thanks.

Idéal pour déguster un bon hamburger fait maison, le service et rapide et l’équipe très sympa. L’apport calorifique d’un hamburger et de frites aux fromage est complètement ahurissant mais il faut bien avouer que ça fait plaisirs parfois.

After seeing someone with a BRGR bag, I was suddenly craving for burgers. Made a compromise since the nearest BRGR was about 5 avenues and 4 or 5 blocks away. I had the single burger combo with fries and soda. They said the difference with classic and single is that classic can be cooked anyway you want and it’s 5.5 oz while single is 4.4 oz or something. I wanted to get classic but since there was no combo for it, I stuck with single instead. They claim that single is always cooked medium rare but when I got mine, it was wayyyy over medium rare more like entirely cooked. Also people who ordered after me got their orders before I did. I waited about 15 minutes or more for my order… Also, I thought I was saving money by ordering the combo meal but I found out, it still comes out the same price whether it was ordered as a combo or 3 separate items! I must say, the fries were pretty crisp, but alas there was still a few soggy ones here and there. All in all, I feel«so and so «about goodburger. Sure it was a «good«burger, but I want a GREAT burger.

On a lovely evening after work my co-worker and I walked about 20 blocks to get our hands on some 88 cent pasta deal, but that attempt failed because they ran out of pasta at this newly opened place. So plan B. Well we didn’t really have a plan B, but anything is good to feed our hunger. And diagonally across the street we saw Goodburger. And so be it that is our plan B aka our dinner. We both gotten the hamburger with the works. Oh yea, all their burgers are done medium unless told otherwise. The works consists of lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard and mayo. Add 50 cents for grilled or crispy onions and add 1.75 for bacon. We also gotten a side of onion rings to share. My co-worker gotten the lime rickey and I gotten their store-made rootbeer. The hamburger was okay. It needed more flavor. I like my burgers a little more charred. And turns out ketchup with mayo is actually pretty good when combined. Maybe I should’ve added mustard too. The onion rings were okay. It was a little soggy, but not quite. I like mine to be crispier. The root beer here is lighter than the root beers I’ve tried from elsewhere, which I like because it wasn’t as sweet. The lime rickey was pretty good. Next time I want to get their portobello mushroom sandwich. mMm portobello! Yummy! =)

Why the bad reviews? Any restaurant called Good ANYTHING sounds like something your mom would feed you. Eat this, its good for you! I’m on a burger fact finding mission(one of my many missions) and this chain was on my radar. First off, the price. $ 7.50 is about average price for a premium burger. The cheeseburger I ordered was cooked fresh and the patty was pretty thick. I didn’t have the french fries or shakes but they looked pretty good. With my diet coke, the bill came out to $ 9.75. Long story short, Awesome premium burger, clean place and multiple locations. I’m a fan and I’ll be back!

Rejected names during brainstorming session: Averageburger, Overpricedburger, Okayburger, Anotherburger, Wannabeburger, etc. Goodburger is good. It’s just too expensive. Cut it down $ 2 and it could merit four stars on it’s own. Unfortunately, it’s the shiny image(I’m not talking about the grease.) and fun related goodness that bumps it up to four. If you eat meat, then you probably love burgers. If you grew up during the nineties, then you probably remember the Nickelodeon movie and chuckle every time you hear«good burger». If you’re in NYC, then you probably, if not have done so already, have gone in search for the best burger out there. Enter Goodburger, your average high priced fast food gourmet burger. It’s tasty. It’s just not all that and the side of fries. Fatburger and In-N-Out are way better and cheaper too. Goodburger is a solid three stars. It gets the extra star for it’s user friendly website and über cool ordering system. There’s nothing like staring at big juicy burger pictures to make you salivate for lunch. At the office, my coworkers and I set up an account and built our burgers online. We clicked on images to tailor our individual meals and when we were done, the site broke down each meal by price. Not only that, each meal had our names on it. There would be no stolen burgers or sides and it made it so easy to pay the bill. There’s a whole lot of grease involved in Goodburger and you could pretty much count on your breath hummin like onions and your fingers smelling like fried food but it’s worth it. We were in good spirits while checking out the site and in even better moods when we were done with our meals. I think someone even went into the conference room due to a food coma. Shhh. Don’t tell but we’re gonna do it again next month when the bosses are gone.

I’ve been seeing this chain crop up around the city lately and the perfect thing about that is the timing! Lately, I’ve been on an unapologetic burger-tasting binge! I guess the summer can do that to a person. Anyhow, I came here for a quick pre-movie dinner with my siblings the other night but surprisingly did not order a hamburger. Instead, I decided to try their organic field greens salad with«Bell & Evans» grilled chicken and it was outstanding. I could’ve done without the strips of rich and decadent cheese(not sure of the variety), but I loved the topping of crispy onion flakes and black olives. The chicken was moist, tender and full of flavor, I did not even use any of the accompanying honey mustard dressing. Regardless of how great my salad was, not ordering a burger at a burger joint is sheer tacky, that is why I helped myself to a bite of my sister’s hamburger just to taste it and compare it to what I’ve been recently hooked on(Shake Shack)… the verdict is that it measures up! I’m a fan. Nothing more to say other than the fact that it tasted really good! I semi-regretted my yummy salad after that one bite. The fries are good as well. to me, they tasted much like those vending machine«potato stixx» I used to love back in college, albeit on a softer and larger scale. The flavors are just about the same. Overall, goodburger does not lie. Their burgers — among other menu items — are(quite) good!
