If a promoter tells you«they’ll hook you up», they’re all full of shit. My sister had her 21st birthday there and they told her that they get a free vodka bar no cover and a table. They did not deliver their promises. Overpriced drinks and I ended up getting thrown out because some scum kid started with me and because he knew people I kicked out. I’ve seen this all there on many occasions. Better off saving your money at a different bar

So first off for a large venue you would expect large elevators … No it’s two small elevators that suppose to hold twelve people but they only let 6 people on at a time. I came here for an all white party and my friend wore jeans and a white too and they made her pay twenty dollars on top off the fee she already had to pay … Which was a rip off Then I had my sweater wrapped around my waist because it was hot and they told me if I was to keep it around my waist I would have to pay too The rooftop was hot, the fans should have been on a higher power or something I payed 16 $ for a Long Island which was good but she didn’t know how to make a pineapple Long Island. The bar was super crowded, the sound system was a little too loud and not too clear The venue is a good Place in looks it just needs to be ran a little bit better. Also they cut our party short a whole 30minutes which was very upsetting. And they barely checked us, for all we knew it could have been another Orlando shooting here.

My friends and I purchased tickets in advance for The Fat Jewish party. The deal was $ 25 for an open bar from 9−11pm. We arrived to only find a massive line which in turn made us miss half of the open bar. Once we finally got inside we find out that the open bar is in fact not at the actual bar but instead at a tiny table in the middle of the dance floor. This«bar» was only being manned by one female bartender who was extremely rude and gave you a sip of wine instead of a normal sized glass. After politely asking if she could fill my glass all the way she rolled her eyes and looked away. After observing her for several minutes she was only filling the glasses of people that tipped her in advance and also treating the men better than women. Her behavior was utterly disgusting and I have never experienced anything like that at a NYC venue. The overall setting was nice and the music was decent but the service ruined everything and it was a waste of money. Will not be returning to Husdon Terrace.

Was here last night for the fat Jewish rooftop event. I heard about the event on Unilocal actually and I have never been to the Hudson rooftop so this was my first time here. I must say the rooftop is gorgeous! Very impressed it was huge and very beautiful! As we arrived the line was SUPER long! We got there at 9:10 the event started at 9. The tickets we bought which was 25 dollars for open bar from 9 – 11 was already going to waste because of the wait time on line. We FINALLY got upstairs around 9:45−10pm so we only had one hour of open bar left which I come to find out is IMPOSSIBLE to get to!!! Literally have to shove my way through to get one drink and the bartender was so cheap with the drink she gave me a sip of wine. So after leaving the open bar for a bit and dancing it was super crowded. Getting shoved every 2 minutes but we made the best of it. The music was ok I felt it was mostly house type of music. They played some hip hop which I appreciate. So after having my sip of wine I had to shortly go back to the«open bar» that took 20 minutes to finally reach and yet again the bartender gave me nothing then time was up. So essentially I paid 25 dollars for 2 sips of wine. The wine tasted good I know it was his wine launch party and I was impressed with it. But was not impressed with the service.

I went to Hudson Terrace last night for a friends birthday and we had such an amazing time! The music was great and lots of space to dance both on the rooftop and inside. Drinks were strong and good service from the bartenders. I would definitely recommend this place for a Friday or Saturday night out with friends!

EDIT: I decided to be more descriptive of my experience here. It has a nice atmosphere but the staff almost acts as if they are doing me a favor. The service was just very subpar. They were also pretty rude.

Honestly I’ve been to this club about 5 times. It’s a great place to go on Friday night with your friends to have some fun and grab couple of drinks. The service is really good and the drinks are amazing. I’ve never had a problem with them. Your order comes really fast.

Great space for some rooftop partying in the city. Unfortunately we came on a rainy night and the roof was closed for the majority of the night but it did open for a little before we left. The staff was friendly and the drinks were good. We had catered finger foods and it was pretty good, nothing special but it did the job.

Dude. This place is DISGUSTING. Awful old black carpet(why do they even have carpet on a rooftop?!) and old leather couches, BARELY a view of the city and still $ 20 drinks? I feel like you could use some of that money to update this place and make it actually cool. Wow. I’m embarrassed to have brought my friend here.

This used to be a hot spot– 4 years ago. Now it’s run down, depressing and devoid of any cool vibe. Avoid this place as there are much cooler spots in the city.

Liars they all are! I came for a night of 20’s, 30’s singles event and it wasn’t! When I called they said to come in business attire because it’s an after work mixer. Moreover initially they said if I don’t get there when the doors open I won’t get my free drink. Liars! Liars! I showed up around 5:15 and the bouncer said we cannot let anyone inside yet. I called back and they said that they had no idea?! Liars about how it was business attire! I get there and many didn’t look 21 or over and there were plenty of girls dressed very sleazy! The music Was awful and overbearing loud! The place smelled like weed and by 6 it got overcrowded and many of the people were all inebriated including one of the bartenders on the rooftop! I wish I could give this place a zero! It’s a sleazy bar with sleazy workers who are liars and unprofessional. Glad I left by 7 because the people were making me feel uncomfortable including one of the bartenders. I left with a major headache from the overbearing loud music! I only had one drink and it wasn’t good! Tasted like fruity bath water! It cost $ 15! Never go back! Cannot believe this place was recommend by Yielp for Cinco de Mayo!

I was here for a charity event, but I got a glimpse of how trashy this place can be. The event was for 8−11pm and was for under-privileged kids in the city. But apparently the waitresses had no heart for the kids or the cause because they started putting«bottle services» signs on tables at 9:30pm, and started kicking people off from sitting at tables around 10pm. Supposedly that’s when they open the space to public… We decided to leave after being herded around because we couldn’t find a place to sit and basically all the tables were still empty, and that’s when I saw the LONG line downstairs with girls in skimpy clothes and stripper heels, and guys look like Jersey shore types. Thank god we left. I will never ever ever be back.

So I wrote a review on March 19th2016 And this is what the promotional director James Belakh reached out to me through Facebook. James Belakh : «Hey Tyler, This is James B. Promotional director of Hudson Terrace. how are you? I saws your review on Unilocal about your promotional experience. I ams orry you had less than a stellar time. You actually did not work for us, or for anyone who works here. I think you were recruited by an outside promoter which does not work here. We would love to have you work a night directly for us and experience the level of care that we show our promoters. We hate seeing negative reviews, especially when we have absolutely no knowledge of what someone who doesnt work for us offers someone. I personally run the friday and saturday parties, if you would like to chat, and cone out one of these night and enjoy a positive experience. Shoot me an email. « Me: Hey James, This is Tyler. Thank you for reaching out. Lets talk about my «promotional experience». My experience has no category. Wether I was promoting or not, wether I work for you or not that was my experience. It does not matter if I work for you or not, people who don’t work for you come to your establishment give free promotion through social media and through there experience. Customer service is key and as a business man you know that. If you had no knowledge thats not good. My review was not to tell you what to do. But to value customers service. I am open for a sit down for conversation. On a positive note, if you read the review I absolutely love the venue. Bartenders were amazing, bouncers of course big headed but thats just how it goes. I honestly don’t want to come to a party night but I am open for a private conversation to talk and discuss whatever you would like or potential business. Best Regards, Tyler Carmichael James Belakh : Thanx for the nice words about our staff. we have been open for 8 years and are slammed every single weekend. As i let Ari know, we let go of EMRG group… your review was more directed at them, not our venue as a whole. We didnt make any of these arrangements, and if we did we would have honored them. It is unfortunate for us to get the blame when we had no knowledge of this and no way to control this. Imagine one of your guests comes to our party at has an altercation, it would be like me then telling everyone you are a terrible promoter and not to work with you. That wouldnt be fair as one person is not a reflection of what you do, and you cannot control every guest and what they do. We welcome you to contact us about hosting an event, or a happy hour… we have a great cinco de mayo party coming up… if you would be so kind as to revise or take down your negative review of HUDSONTERRACE we would appreciate it. I think it was more so the person you made arrangements with that failed you. We had nothing to do with it. Me: I understand the business very well. But as someone who understands, anything that happens under your roof is technically your fault and your business. Sorry that you were not aware but I know you are aware. Do you hit up everyone who gives a review? or should say puts a negative review about what actually happened? overall this very and still unprofessional you could’ve responded on Unilocal and given me your email and we could have discussed this the professional way. James Belakh: If a customer has a bad experience with our staff, or we had something that we could improve on, then we certainly try to do so. If someone we dont even know«Emily» made some promise that she didnt uphold, and a negative review was made of OURCLUB vs that person, then its something i want to bring up to that person, to let them know we had no knowledge of this. If you dont wish to remove the negative review of Hudson Terrace after me making it known that you weren’t dealing with us, but someone else completely, then that is certainly your right. none of our staff members seemed to provide negative experiences, so just letting you know that we had nothing to do with this. You can decide what you think is the right action to take. Have a great day. Me: You have have to be more aware. Money is being spent and made. Thank you for responding have a good day. ________________________________________________________________________________ Keep in mind I never gave any names or named and associations in my previous review. He named a woman named«Emily» and«EMRG group». These are things I did not mention in my previous review but he mentioned this in his response. Yes he did give me his email and that was the first thing I did was email him, But he said he didn’t get it and we continued the conversation online. You be the judge.

On my way towards the place, after 40 minutes to find parking at 1 am. I see people sooo drunk it looks like they will need cpr right there in the street. Trying to get in, I walk up and ask if this is the line to go in. He says, no we just closed. Then closed the gate. Me and my friend waited on the other side to decide what ro do next. We see only black people being allowed in. Other people being denied. That was just rediculous. Especially since I called and asked whats the latest to enter and they said 3.

TLDR: AVOIDAVOIDAVOID!!! I’m only giving this place one star because the music they played was good. Otherwise, people really should avoid it. We came here for a friend’s birthday party on Saturday night. She had talked to someone at the club a week before(I believe her name was Christina) and was told we would all get in without having to pay a cover charge as long as we were there before 11:30pm. We got there at around 11:15 and proceeded to wait in a long line for about 10 minutes as there was some celebrity DJ that night. I asked one of the bouncers if we’d be in by 11:30 and he said yeah. Sure enough, we got to the front and told them we were on our friend’s guest list and they let us through so we were inside by 11:25. However, 3 of our friends got held back in line because people cut in front of them and we tried telling the bouncers that. They just were like«oh I dunno about that» and waved us away. Simultaneously, we were told that all the guys in our group had to pay $ 20 but girls were free. My friend called the person she talked to and told her what happened and she seemed to say that she would take care of it. But that never happened. Then for some reason, the bouncers told us to come back outside and wait. It was now past 11:30 but we had already been inside. They kept acting like we had to go to the back of the line again. I told them«dude you just let us in and we were here before 11:30 so a) why are the guys being forced to pay a cover charge, and b) why would we have to wait in line AGAIN??» I told the guy I was on my friend’s guest list(she and some others had already gone upstairs) and then they had to check the name like 5 times cuz they can’t understand English apparently and then he was like«oh why didn’t you say so?» I was like«OMG I DID!!! I TOLDTHEOTHERGUY!» I don’t understand why these guys have such a hard time coordinating with each other. It’s ridiculous. I told him our other friends couldn’t get in and he said to tell them to ask for Jeff and he’d let them in. Unfortunately, since all of that took so long, our friends already left. We went inside and my boyfriend had to pay $ 20 so he was beyond pissed off. I told the lady at the front desk that my friend had talked to someone before and was told nobody had to pay cover if we were here before 11:30, which we had been before the bouncers started holding us back. She said the girl she talked to probably reached the limit of people she could have on her guest list and now it’s after 11:30 so he had to pay. Ok, first of all, WHY even promise something like that if you can’t make it happen? Second of all, why were we being held back for no reason when we had been there before 11:30? I told her it was terrible customer service and went upstairs. Again, I will say the music they played was good and I had a good time with my friends but the other downside is that the drinks are hella expensive. I mean, $ 14 for a whiskey ginger?! REALLY? This place thinks it’s some 5 star lounge yet nothing about our experience was worth the money we paid. My boyfriend doesn’t even like clubbing and had to pay $ 20 for a crappy experience. He may have(allegedly) poured his urine all over one of their couches as revenge. Allegedly. ;) Needless to say, I won’t ever be back here and I sincerely hope this place shuts down. The bouncers try to act like it’s so exclusive and you’re not good enough to get in there when in reality it’s nothing special at all. There are better clubs in the East Village or Lower East Side and they don’t even charge cover AND have reasonably priced drinks!

Came with giant group on a Friday night– music was a solid 2.5÷5 and drinks 4.5÷5. Bartender was cool and gave us some free drinks(mostly because we ordered so many!) In the winter the rooftop closes so we just went to dance. Also has giant lounge seats to put coats on. Overall would recommend as a night out!

Well, I won’t rehash our frustration about waiting more than half an hour to get in when they were supposed to have opened. So we bought a groupon which gave us VIP access. That means 6 free drinks plus hors d’oeuvres. That meant a free for all at a snack station of cheese cubes, tortilla chips, guacamole and some tiny sausage rolls. They went fast and we found it easier to buy our food. The drinks were ok and the staff behind the bar were very nice. It was a hot Sunday and once we realised that the 1st floor had lovely a/c we fled the hot and humid rooftop for that floor. They have a DJ on the rooftop whose music plays on both levels and we did have a little boogie. Now that we have been once, that’s probably it. Worth the groupon for the drinks just not a place we would come again.
