Great french restaurant in the village. Small, cozy, intimate. Great food, tuna tartare was amazing. Wine selection, so good we finished a bottle. Service was impeccable, the owner was extremely friendly and accommodating.

Excellent food. Waiter wasn’t very good, but food was amazing. Blueberry pancakes were delicious and fluffy. Brisket omelet was amazing with meat being excellent. Omelet with smoked trout was great. Coffer and deserts were done well. Definitely a must to come back for dinner. They have jazz on Tuesday and Wednesday.

We went based on a recommendation from an 80 year-old couple, so I was a bit worried about the atmosphere and other diners(we’re a 20-something couple), but I really loved it. It was a cold night, and the dark dining room was very cozy. I wish every restaurant let you choose two main courses for one plate. I had the snapper and octopus. The octopus was my favorite, and I found making two different meals definitely did not compromise the overall taste. It was slightly annoying that the first two bottles of wine we ordered were out of stock, but the owner gave us a more expensive bottle, and charged us the amount of the original bottle. He also came back numerous times to make sure we were enjoying our experience, which is always appreciated. We made sure we were there on a night with live music. It started later than we were expecting, but it was a nice way to end the meal. Once we finished our food, we ordered an extra glass of wine each and stayed to watch more.

Gonna keep this one short and sweet. Everything about this place is awesome. Run don’t walk here as soon as you can!

Le pescadeux is the quiet refinement you want in a bistro down the block. Though I never order it, their bouillabaisse is highly rated and I can see why it smells amazing and people are always happy with it. I usually order a grilled fish variety and I’ve never been disappointed.

If I lived down in SoHo(instead of in midtown), I would probably eat at this place almost every night! It’s warm, cozy, neighborhood-y and feels like a throwback to another era(in the good sense of the term«throwback»), complete with delicious-but– unpretentious food that is well-prepared and graciously/casually served to you like you are a guest in someone’s home. There was even some cool live entertainment in the form of a jazz chanteuse with back-up accompaniment on bass and guitar. I ate at the bar(the bar and the dining room are all in one room). I had delicious clam chowder with bacon, which came with tasty homemade croutons. There is a small, eclectic wine list. Had I gone for dinner rather than a late night snack, I would have surely ordered one of the amazing-sounding fish dishes for which the restaurant is known for. The owner is very hands-on and a real character. The crowd was mostly habitues but they were friendly. I had an amazing dessert — caramelized bananas with real whipped cream(infused with mascarpone). This would be a super-cool, romantic place to frequent and I would love to try it out for brunch.

Braised octopus cooked to perfection! Had the lunchbox special of braises octopus, romaine salad and carrots with a coke, all for $ 17 and change. The romaine salad had dressing on the side. I hate pre-dressed salads, so right off the bat I knew it would be a great dining experience. The octopus was perfect. It came with watercress and a saffron aioli, which was heavenly, and carrots, which were quite delicious. They put a nice amount of octopus for such a low price. There was a choice of carrots or french fries. It also came with a choice of soda or coffee. If your in Soho and looking for a wonderful French dining experience, without breaking the bank, then head on over to Le Pescadeux. Another plus, the fish is wild caught, more nutritious and better tasting, and they use local butchers as their meat source.

I am not sure what happened to the octopus, but it was totally not as good as before. The cod was still delicious, but what happened to the goodness of the octopus? I am not sure what happened at lunch on Tuesday, but it didn’t meet my expectations.

Delicious octopus charred perfectly. Charming décor but would be nice if the band wasn’t there to allow a conversation. The menus are solid. Highly recommended.

I want to begin by saying that I am a fan of seafood, but pescadeux blew every marine-esque culinary experience I’ve ever had OUTOFTHEWATER(a star just for making puns so easy). The main-squeeze and I shared oysters as an appetizer(SOGOOD) and the octopus and shrimp risotto for our main course. I’m still dreaming about how amazing it was. The recommended Sancerre was incredibly fresh and clean and paired excellently with the food. In fact, I was having such a good time, I forgot my iPhone there! I didn’t realize until the morning. I called the restaurant and they kept it safe and sound for me. I would expect that kind of integrity from a restaurant that has the same spectacular integrity for its food. I almost feel five stars isn’t enough. EATHERE, YOUWILLLOVEIT!

The only reason I came was to support amazing musicians who were performing this evening. The owner was absolutely obnoxious and pretentious. He offered me a free drink 2x then came and said, «this is NY we don’t give free drinks» as he offered one to another woman who didn’t want one anyway. He is going to tell me, a person born and raised in NY what«we» do here? I don’t think so. The food and drinks were overpriced and I have most definitely been to higher end, better places. Save your money and go somewhere else. I have tons of suggestions. The music however was wonderful and I hope they were paid for the quality they provided.

What a find! We were just walking around and found this place. Small restaurant but décor is very modern and clean. We made it for happy hour so it was $ 1.50 oysters and $ 7.50 for a glass of wine on your menu. I think beers are $ 5 and HH goes from 5pm to 7pm but I would call just to make sure. If I’m in the area, I would definitely go back. Service was also very friendly and attentive. Maybe not he most romantic but a good place for a date.

Came here on a Friday night and it wasn’t crowded at all. The atmosphere was very romantic and particularly more so because there was a jazz singer in the corner, singing soothing music. The windows were open and there were candles on every table. It really felt like we were in Paris. As for the food, Le Pescadeux has a specialty menu that lets you choose two half orders of various seafood dishes and the cost is only $ 26. That night, I chose: –Black BASS with Parsnip Purée, Port Reduction: This bass tasted like exactly how a bass is supposed to taste like. It was succulent and melted in my mouth. The parsnip purée went perfectly with the bass. –Braised OCTOPUS with Watercress, Saffron Aioli: Another tasty dish. It was cooked perfectly and wasn’t tough at all. Because it is octopus, when cooked, it can become really tough and unpleasant to eat. But it was great and the saffron aioli had just the right amount of saffron and complemented the octopus. My friend got the RISOTTO of Sea Urchin, Lobster & Baby Arugula. As soon as we saw it that this risotto had sea urchin and lobster, we had to get it. Needless to say, it was perfection. The risotto was not overly creamy and the combination of uni and lobster was just amazing. As if these two entrees weren’t enough, we ordered a side of BRUSSELSPROUTS, Bacon & Apples. Who doesn’t like brussel sprouts, particularly with thick chunks of bacon and apples? It was pretty delicious and we were incredibly disappointed that the size of the plate was so small, given that it costs $ 8. Overall, great food and great atmosphere. Will try to come back on my next visit to NY.

Came here on a deal.(Note: They no longer sell deals as of August 2013, but will continue to honor previously purchased deals. Do call in advance to confirm that they are still accepting the vouchers; if they no longer do, just exchange it for another restaurant.) I had a chardonnay as well as a duet with cod and shrimp. The food was pretty good, but probably not worth the price without the deal. The cod was very tender, but the sauce was not the best. The shrimp had a nice texture and complemented the ratatouille well. 3.5 stars

Québécois cuisine right here in the NYC — great concept! Overall, Le Pescadeux is on the right track toward Canadian authenticity, although more wild game and maple flavored offerings would certainly help the cause. Food here is super fresh and portion sizes are fair for the price(you won’t walk away feeling hungry). The ambience is lovely, especially in nice weather when they open the entire façade of the building for an al fresco dining experience. We were very impressed with the friendly and attentive staff and distinct lack of snobbery that one can sometimes run into, particularly when French cuisine is being served in NYC. I would certainly return to Le Pescadeux and recommend that you check it out too!

Neat little French-Canadian restaurant whose owner is from Montréal but immigrated to New York to become a Broadway actor in the 60s. Awesome Quebec Clam Chowder — creamy, with a lot of potato and onion and clams at the bottom. I got the Herb-Crusted Cod + Jumbo Shrimp — pretty good but a little plain. I would have liked a little more spice. Get the brussels sprouts, bacon and apples — it’s a really nice side for any dish.

We have come here a few times, and it has become one of my favorite little spots in the Village for Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is nice, charming and cozy. They have a live jazz trio(bass guitar, piano or acoustic guitar, and a singer) that entertains you for Sunday brunch. The music is delightfully relaxing and charming. Definitely get the unlimited mimosas. The service is amazing, and they actually give you mimosa after mimosa. I absolutely love the crispy white fish sandwich. It sounds plain, but it is nothing but. It has a crunchy coating and is lightly fried so it’s crispy and filling but not too heavy. The omelettes are divine, and we’ve enjoyed both the smoked trout and the gruyère & spinach omelettes. The complimentary home-made banana bread with brunch is a nice touch as well.

I love early bird specials! While the wine was not particularly special, the clam chowder was good. The entrée was not memorable, but the desserts were quite nice. Get the maple pie. It was delicious! Service was quick and friendly. Lighting is slightly darker than romantic, but you can still see people and what you are eating.

Sunday brunch. Got there a bit late, our friend got us a table by the musicians. We were surprised that there was live music in the first place since that was unexpected, but the seat right next to them is the worse possible seat in the house if you were looking to catch up with old friends. We spotted another open table on the other side of the restaurant, the waiter was kind enough to move us. Started with 18 oysters to share! Who doesn’t love oysters? Their oysters were really fresh, I would definitely go back for more. The guys ordered the eggs benedict. It looked really good. I tried the fish sandwich which came with french fries. It was okay, the sauce was the best part. The fish portion was really small, the bun was much bigger than the actual piece of fish. In that case I would like either a larger piece of fish or a smaller bun. I probably should have gotten the eggs as well.
