I work up the street and noticed a sign for a smoothie happy hour, and knew I’d have to check it out. Magic Mix offers ½ price smoothies from 4−5pm during the week, and 3−5pm on the weekends. In the end, this turns out to be a $ 6 smoothie, so a good price but doesn’t seem ½ off. Anyway, I’ve only tried the Warrior Blend smoothie, as well as the Mayan Warrior. The Warrior Blend was my favorite. Was a nice purple color – not too sweet and even had a homemade protein powder that soothed my afternoon hunger pangs. Everything here is homemade, vegan, all-natural, etc. The staff is friendly, and it’s great that they offer a happy hour. I come here if I have plans right after work and won’t have dinner until later. This is a healthy option to keep me satisfied without breaking the bank.

Magic Mix is one of my favorite places in the city where I work — in the financial district. I like to come here for breakfast, lunch, an afternoon pick me up and just to come sit and study. I have only tried a couple of smoothies — the Wicked Potion and Hangover Helper. Both are great. I do want to try more but I love the Wicked Potion so much that I can never not get it!!! It’s like a staple in my diet. I’ve tried many, many juice places — my friends can tell you — I love juices and smoothies(especially fresh in California) and I have my own Nutribullet at home — but Wicked Potion is one of the best mixes I have ever had the pleasure of trying! Guarantee you will love it too! The staff are also super friendly and if you’re a regular they definitely remember who you are!

Popped in here for the first time in a long time this morning. Got the Green Aphrodite(Spinach, Kale, Cucumber & Apple) and a flu shot(ginger, lemon and cayenne pepper). First the flu shot which does exactly what is supposed to hit you in the throat with a peppery citrus blast. Cures what ails you! The Green Aphrodite was refreshing. People here are super nice. Store is a bit pricey in that the juice was $ 11 while most other similar quality juice places charge less. Very clean location. They also have raw foods and smoothies. Despite price I would come back here again.

Came with a friend and got the Picture Perfect Date and Mayan Warrior. They’re pretty similar aside from the cinnamon flavor in Mayan Warrior. I didn’t like how powdery they both tasted. Other than that, this was really filling and they made it fresh right in front of us. They also have salads and other foods which looked good. But overall, pretty pricey. The store is really clean, bright, and open. There are some bar seats and a table for three — overall not a lot of seating. *BOGO smoothie on scoutmob!

Came here on a lunch break while visiting NYC for business. Really cute spot. Clean, white, fresh interior. I love it! I tried the Green Eyed Candy(kale, spinach, ginger, pineapple, apple, lemon). Great tasting green juice. $ 10.99 per bottle, which I find is the going rate for juices nowadays. I also tried the Iron Man salad. Kale, spinach, avocado, purple cabbage, shiitake bacon, carrots, hemp seeds, Brazil nut parm and house made spirulina dressing. It was tasty and über healthy. Not going to lie. It was little hard for me to eat the whole thing. Kale and I just don’t have a great relationship yet. My lunch came in a awesome aquamarine reusable bag! Nice advertising! Service: very friendly! I’d definitely come back here when I stay downtown next time. I want to try their bowls!

Incredible salads — the best I’ve ever had. The Iron Man is a standout in my book. Consider this review high praise coming from someone who generally detests raw food and salads. But you guys are the best and you’ve made me a convert — the salads are flavorful, expertly prepared(e.g. the kale is just so soft yet crunchy!), and so vibrant. You can tell that the ingredients are fresh and nutritious. The juices are very tasty too, although I’d like to see nutritional content on the bottles. Thank you guys! I think I’ve found my Financial District eatery.

This juice bar in the financial district is great. The juice bar has a nice open vibe and near the entrance are bunch of salads and juices to go. You order in the back and the cashier was super friendly. I ordered the cold cure drink and it was delicious. I will be coming back here every day before work.

Juice bars have never been hotter. Seems like the new genetic makeup of every block in Manhattan features a frozen yogurt shop, a bank, and a juice bar. While some are more ubiquitous than others(Juice Press, Liquiteria for instance), there’s still plenty of room for smaller operations like Magic Mix. They’re not reinventing the wheel by any stretch of the imagination, but they do have a nice selection of bottled smoothies that I gravitate towards. The Mayan Warrior with almond«mylk», banana cacao, dates, cinnamon, and maca is a favorite and it genuinely leaves me full. If you’re looking for a meal replacement, it does the trick. They also have a bunch of snacks and larger meals if you need to chew something as opposed to sipping on your lunch or dinner.

This is an actual thing that happened to me today. I’m still not quite over it and it’s been about two hours… stick with me on this. Today I went to magic mix at about 1pm. I go there 2 – 3 times per week to get a delicious(but $ 9.95) coconut water. It’s a bit ridiculous but it’s one block from my office and the coconut water is really good plus the bottle is a decent size. Back to today, I get back to my office open the coconut water and it doesn’t taste great but have another couple of sips. I drink raw coconut daily and I know it’s super perishable and also not supposed to be fizzy. Fizz = spoiled. Guess what, my bottle is fizzing when I shake it. I have a meeting go back about one hour later and tell the girl at the counter that it’s bad. Again, go there 2 – 3 times per week. The girl then opens the bottle and pours some into a cup — I then state that I’ve been sick. For real, I’m waiting for more blood work to come back and they think it might be something transmitted by saliva(maybe tmi but relevant here)…you see where I am going with this. She then DRINKS my coconut water. States it tastes fine. She refuses to give me another one and after I make weird squinty eyes at her she offers that I can buy another one at half off. So she is proposing that I now pay $ 15 for one bottle of unspoiled coconut water. I then throw out the bottle that is in my hand and she NOJOKE goes and pulls it out of the trash and says I’ll drink it — it’s fine. And scene. I walk out sans coconut water and the mayan warrior that my colleague asked me to pick up for her and shake my head the one block back to my office. Can’t wait to hang on to the $ 100 I spend in there every month. —- Update: 9÷2÷15 I e-mailed the owner. She was extremely kind and professional and offered to make the situation right by giving me a free coconut water. I probably will not end up taking her up on her offer but it sounds like she took my feedback and plans to make positive changes.

Great place for juices and smoothies although very very expensive. Try coming during happy hours where some of their drinks are slightly cheaper. Friendly service, and a nice, clean space. I feel like downtown is becoming all poshy with a place like this-not a good or bad thing. Just an observation.

Their smoothies are very plain, tastes like something I could make at home easily with some frozen fruit and a blender. Otherwise it’s a nice little store front and the staff was very friendly.

Just tuning into juicing, so I don’t have much by way of experience. Very much enjoyed the Coconut Mylk. Looking forward to trying the cold press latte with vanilla. Very nice staff :) FYI happy hour is from 3−5PM on weekends and 4−5PM on weekdays. $ 6 smoothies for all the $$ hayters :-)! Great deal for what I got IMHO,

A quick healthy alternative for breakfast or lunch — try the pinavocado — it’s delicious as well as protein paradise, and cold cure! Smoothies are 9.00 bucks but weekdays between 4pm and 5pm it’s happy hour and weekends between 3pm and 5pm happy hours smoothes are 6.00 bucks — next time you’re in the neighborhood stop by — pick one up :-)

I’m going to say(well, write) something I’ve never said(or written) before on Unilocal: overpriced. I hardly ever mention price because if it(the store) is a chain, they(the staff) have nothing to do with the price and it seems unfair to complain about something that can’t be helped. But, to my knowledge, Magic Mix Juicery is independent, without chain, whatever you’d like to call it and therefore, I will comment — so ridiculously, so wrongly overpriced. Seriously, almost $ 10.00 for a smoothie? I’ve frequented juice bars for over a year in New York City, and I’ve never paid $ 9.50 for a smoothie. And, I never will, unless there’s gold in it or some sort of magic potion that allows me to eat and lose weight simultaneously. Having said that, I did go to Magic Mix Juicery because… what the hell? It got great reviews, I just got paid and I was kind of curious. I bought Down On The Bayou, which was a staggering $ 12.95. I will say, it was delicious. Like, really, freaking good. But, was it worth it? Um, no. Almost $ 13.00 for two wraps? I felt like a schmuck, to say the least. I wasn’t a fan of the atmosphere/vibe, either. The staff members weren’t particularly friendly(in fact, the girl that checked me out had a bit of an attitude) and when I’m paying a fortune for a wrap, I kind of expect common courtesy — you don’t have to be my best friend, but at least smile. There was also a heavy pretentious vibe — the store, itself, was snooty. That’s not really my jam; I’m more of a «happy, healthy, peace and love» juicer. I don’t think I’ll be back, but if you have cash to burn and like a more upscale feel, maybe this is the juicery for you.

I was beyond excited when I walked into this place and realized what was happening! Admittedly, I walked in on a business mission, but despite that I was still welcomed by the staff. Not a frown in site… and having been a server for years, I know how to spot unhappy employees. I was able to meet Jil, the creator of this little slice of awesome. She’s the kind of person you want to be best friends with. Super down to earth! After talking I ended up getting lunch there. The Thai Salad = Mind blown! Satisfied every craving I had, and I’m not even close to vegan people, it was simply that delicious. The dressing… I almost went back to see if I could buy in bulk! They have their own cleanses they make in house, as with everything they make. I’ll be going back often for a healthy pick me up. Summary: Magix mix has a great menu with fresh well thought out items. Delicious and fulfilling. Jil is awesome and her staff follows suit. I’m hoping for a second location soon!(I think locations are being scouted.) Thanks! I’ll be sending my friends for sure!

I actually like the idea of «healthy eating» at this place. the salad that I ordered, the detox salad was really fresh, clean, and delicious. however, it is price a little too high. a small bowl of salad cost around 12 – 13. which I can get other salad for the price of 10 and below. I agree with other reviews. it makes healthy eating sounds expensive. smoothies cost around 10 dollars? or maybe 8⁄9 dollars which I think it’s a little too high. I understand this place is organic and it is different compare to other spot. As you enter, you can see that this place is clean and fresh. I guess I have to return to try other entrees and some smoothies and see what’s so special about it and update my review. I just don’t know whether I choose to pay the price where I can get cheaper options at other places.
