Mark and the rest of the staff have been above and beyond incredible since the moment my (once fiancé, now husband) got my engagement ring, to when we picked out our wedding bands. They are for life, the people we trust wholeheartedly. Always greeted with genuine smiles, care, and pure joy in my happiness, I will always tell everyone about Mark Awad as a jeweler!

I absolutely hate going to the diamond district. It’s always so overwhelming and stressful. I feel like everyone just wants to screw you over. A friend recommended Mark to my fiancé and I when looking for our wedding bands. We went this past Saturday and I am so glad we took his advice. Mark was so extremely helpful and kind. He made sure we saw and tried on several different pieces so that we could find exactly what we were looking for. My fiancé does not wear any jewelry and he loved his band. They have these great comfort fit rings for men. Mark was able to find a band that complimented by engagement ring perfectly! Their prices are reasonable– better than most of what I found at cheap online sites — and the quality is great. Mark really made this a stress-​free situation, and I couldn’t be happier with our bands. I would definitely recommend him for any of your jewelry purchases.

After looking at several local jewelry stores, we went into the diamond district to look for «the perfect ring». We didn’t know who to trust and looked at a few shops with some very shady characters. We walked by Mark Awad’s shop and it was 5:00pm on a Saturday, just 30 min before closing. I saw a gorgeous setting and my fiancé pointed it out just as I was staring at it. George was very helpful and took it out for me to try on. It fit– which is very unusual given I have tiny fingers. The center stone was sold seperately and he showed us a gorgeous diamond. It was not certified, but clearly a stunner. George was far from pushy and clearly very honest and kind. We bought the ring, had the stone set downstairs and left just 40 minutes after arriving.
I had it cleaned two weeks later at a local jewelry shop and the girl called the manager over to look at my ring. Within minutes, all 5 sales staff were standing surrounding my ring and asking me where I got it and what we paid for it. I began to panic and worried something was wrong. She tested each diamond and looked at it under a magnifying glass and kept looking under higher and higher magnification. I couldn’t take it any longer and asked her what was going on. She told me it was the most gorgeous ring she had ever seen and told me the center stone was nearly if not completely flawless. She could not see a single inclusion. She said she was convinced it was fake because it looked too perfect, but it passed every test she had. She told me the ring was worth ten times what we paid for it and this was easily the most gorgeous ring she had ever seen. She wanted to know the name of the jewelry store we bought it from because she had seen countless stories of people getting ripped off in the diamond district, but she never heard of anyone getting such a great deal! I feel very, very blessed!
Needless to say, we are recommending Mark Awad’s to everyone we know and are going back for wedding rings. They are the most honest, low pressure, and best value shop around. I wouldn’t take my chances going anywhere else.
By the way– my ring was designed by Isaac Awad, Mark’s father and is truly one of a kind. I have had strangers stop me and ask me where I got such a gorgeous ring! I couldn’t be happier! :D

Love this jeweler! Mark and his staff have been extremely considerate and honest when it comes to buying jewelry in the famous diamond district. It can get a bit disorienting and confusing about where to go on that block. Don’t waste your timing looking beyond Mark. I’ve bought two pieces of jewelry from him now in the last few and am very satisfied with the quality, look, and price. So much so that I’ve recommended him to multiple friends. I’ve found my diamond guy!

Mark is refreshing. An honest business man who cares about building ongoing relationships with customers, not just making the most bucks per sale… Spends a good amount of time educating customers. Went to him for engagement ring, and went back for bands bc it was such a good experience. Handled resizing with my fiancé like a champ. A true gentleman. Have recommended him to others — no brainer. Will use him for any jewelry purchase going fw. Always leave store feeling good about my purchase and always receive compliments on merchandise from others…

Straight shooter and honest. Spent my time talking over a purchase and plans. Most helpful gentleman. He didn’t rush me but educated and help me on a selection. I truly recommend him.

My husband and I went to Awad jewelers to look for wedding bands after being recommended by a friend. Mark was very friendly and helpful as well as giving us an excellent price. He was not pushy or overly assertive as we had experienced other diamond district jewelers in the past. I got a beautiful diamond band at an excellent price and my husband got a tungsten band. We have since referred several friends there as well who have all been very satisfied with the quality and price of their purchases. I would highly recommend Awad to anyone.

Mark Awad is sincerely the nicest individual ever. Not only does he deliver the best product, but he truly gives the best price around. My engagement ring and wedding band both came from Mark. As far as I am concerned, he is my jeweler for life.

If you buy something from Mark that is not certified, beware that Mark will cut corners where he can.
My wife and I recently purchased a diamond bracelet from Mark. In short, I do not trust Mark. I find it hard to believe that Mark’s jewelry is of the size and quality that he claims. After looking around online and at other stores, we thought Mark was offering is an excellent deal on a diamond bracelet. We purchased the bracelet with a guarantee that we could return the bracelet if the bracelet was not what he claimed. A few weeks later, I had the bracelet appraised. Mark’s claimed diamond weight was 30% higher than the appraiser’s estimate. The appraiser found the color to be 1 – 2 letter grades below what Mark claimed and clarity was below as well. When I showed Mark, he seemed far more concerned with making the sale stick than with preserving trust. He said that we could return the bracelet with the onerous condition that we take the bracelet apart at his shop and the diamond weight was below what he claimed, but we would have the pay the significant cost of replacing the metal in the bracelet. The way Mark handled the situation confirmed to me that he exaggerates the quality of what he sells and that he has no interest in building a relationship for repeat sales.
In the end, we did not return the bracelet. We had negotiated a large discount from his asking price, so the price that we paid for what we actually got was fair according the the appraiser’s estimate. The price was okay, but it was just not nearly as good of a deal as we thought we were getting. The bracelet looks good though.

With the many jewelers on 47^th Street, finding the right place to goto can be a nerve wracking process… that is until you meet Mark. Mark has been in the business since he was a youngster. His expertise and knowledge made me feel very comfortable when purchasing my Panerai watch (he’s a diamond specialist, but watches are a personal passion of his). Mark explained all the intricacies of the watch, provided me with all the original boxes and papers, and had the watch polished and serviced by Panerai. I essentially received a brand new watch for thousands less! The search for a jeweler is over, Awad owns 47^th!

Was recommended by a good friend to go see Mark Awad for a watch. I usually do all my purchases on amazon and big retailers, but it’s safe to say never again. Not only did Mark give me an amazing deal, but he took the time to explain differences and details that could only come from years of experience. I highly recommend him to all my friends.

We did end up coming back and purchasing our bands here, and couldn’t be happier! We ran into some problems with my now husband’s band, and George was so nice about sending it back to get it re-​sized, etc. I’ve also been back twice since then to get my rings cleaned, and the staff have always been attentive and kind, even though they aren’t taking a fee for the cleaning.
