I visited this store many times. I always enjoyed seeing the jerseys, helmets, hockey equipment. This gives me a connection to hockey, my favorite sport. Unfortunately, this store sells limited merchandise due to the smaller space. I would like to see more Canadian teams: My favorite team is the Montréal Canadiens! Not only does it sell limited merchandise, the prices remain overpriced.

Like a lot of other Unilocalers have already mentioned, the NHL store is not that big. You can literally cover the whole store in less than 5 minutes if nothing catches your eye. They have a bunch of hats, jerseys and t-shirts here. Like the NBA store, their selection tends to gear towards the more popular teams at the moment, like the Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Bruins and the NY Rangers. As a Vancouver Canucks fan, it was hard to find anything that really caught my eye. Regardless, this is still definitely a cool place for any hockey fan, but just don’t expect too much out of it!

You’d think the NHL store in NYC would be the Mecca for all things NHL, but it falls short in so many ways. There are some really cool clothes, accessories and other goodies in here, but they are insanely expensive and the selection isn’t as big as you would imagine. Regardless, I have bought and received shirts, jackets, hats and scarves from here and they’re always a hit, so it’s a good place to browse around and pick up a gift for yourself or a hockey fan. They hold a lot of events in here with players and other NHL personalities, so you might just get lucky and see someone you know.

Ok, so yes the prices are high! This is one of a kind hockey gear. I love the place. The greeter at the door Walter was so nice today when I visited. The employees are so helpful. They all wear different team gear. The motorcycle is great in the front of the store. The store is clean, neat, and well organized. I find that if you want something you need to get it fast especially Rangers gear. The seasons change fast. I’m always looking for long sleeves. I need to go back often. I wish they offered more cool stuff for the women similar to some of the jackets they have for men. The children’s T-shirts will fit me. I may have to resort to purchasing one to get long sleeve. Heck it’s hockey season! Go in and get your team shirt, jacket, sweater, hat, etc. Who ever you root for you’ll look sharp!

As an avid San Jose Sharks fan, the NHL Store was a «must» on my recent trip to New York City. Although it wasn’t very large, it was very cool to see. They have some apparel that is unique to this store, but most of it is similar to what you can find online or in your local team’s store. Since the store carries all 30 teams, there is not much for your individual team, but it is a really fun experience even if you don’t end up buying something! They also film for the NHL Network at this location and you can see the set from inside the store. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable and made for a nice visit.

Nice looking store. If you’re looking for a non-original 6 team that isn’t NY/NJ … You’re better off on the team web site. Clerk who was supposed to help my friend find a shoe size blew him off saying«I’ll find someone else… I’m going on break.» Real nice.

If you are looking for something representing any NHL team, you will probably find it here. Cool set up with the game jerseys for every team hung up like in a locker room. If you are a hockey fan, it’s just a fun store to walk around in and check everything out — make sure you see the Orange County Choppers Original Six Team bike while you are there. Conveniently located near Rockefeller Center. That being said, I deducted two stars for a couple of reasons. One, the Rangers items were really limited, which I found somewhat odd being that they are in NYC. I can understand they want to represent as many different teams as possible, to cater to tourists. But I still expected to see more Rangers items(which is what I went in there for) being that it was NYC. I probably would have had more selection at the ProShop at MSG, but I still managed to find a cool t-shirt and hat. Also, more popular teams had more of an item selection in there — I get it, you are going to stock what sells, but I just expected to see more stuff in the store for all teams as a whole, given that it is the NHL store. Second star being deducted for the fact that I was virtually ignored in the store by the staff members while I was browsing, while it seemed that all the guys were being asked if they needed help. Psst, women like hockey too, some of us actually know more about the sport than a lot of guys out there, and we are just as willing to part with our money! PS. Stock more Lundqvist t-shirts please! He’s one of the best goalies in the NHL, he’s in the playoffs right now, and he plays for the NY Rangers — no excuse for running out of t-shirts in certain sizes for one of the most popular NHL players!

Spent 2 hours shopping with friends that are such Hockey fans. Great store with tons of merchandise for all NHL teams. So many options, all kinds of tshirts, sweatshirts, jackets, hats, benies, shoes, phone covers, bags, jerseys, etc …, So much fun choosing our favorite things. Got a lot of presents for friends back in California. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They really went out of their way to help me find what I was looking for. At the end I walked out with three huge shopping bags full of hockey clothes, shoes and hats. I wish they would open a store in California. Hockey is such a great sport!

Was expecting more but not bad. It’s improved significantly recently. They represent every team but not each is represented well. Got a vintage whalers shirt. Some nice player t shirts(The sales associate told me the colors and fabrics are exclusive to the NHL store. Pricey, but I expected this as the store is in midtown mannhattan. You can get replica jerseys for $ 135, a better value then authentic. Final Verdict: Good store, but don’t come here unless you intend to buy something. Not really meant to be an «experience» and I respect that. A hockey store is a hockey store.

The NHL store is not that big, so its not easy to provide stuff for all the NHL teams. Being a Ducks fan, its hard to find Anaheim stuff, even back home. This place was no different. The vintage Mighty Ducks seem very popular in NYC and they said they’re flying off the shelves. Ironically our cross town rival the LA Kings had plenty of stuff on the shelves. Either they don’t have enough fans, or, the NHL store stocks plenty of their stuff. Its a must stop for all hockey fans… even if it is just to say you’ve been there. There’s a Starbucks in the back of the store, which I keep forgetting to stop when I visit. GODUCKS!

My boyfriend is a huge hockey fan and was very disappointed when he came from Tucson to visit the NHL store in NYC. Store was surprisingly very small and didn’t offer a ton of product. He is a Buffalo Sabres fan and for being a team in the state of New York– they had a very small selection of Sabres product. I know they’re not the best team but it was a bummer. Overpriced as well.

Not near Times Square or Madison Square Garden, this is an odd place for a store for NHL fans. But they do have everything for every team. Jerseys, hats, shirts, pucks, masks, sticks, everything. For every team, even the sucky ones that aren’t in New York. Prices? Well, they’re high.

Decent selection but not enough«hometown» things. I expected more Rangers gear and the women’s selection was one tiny rack in the back of the store near the wall of shoes. Staff was not at all friendly. Not one person asked if we were looking for anything in particular or if they could help find anything. Three stars because the jersey selection was good and the store did carry the ugly sweaters.

Lots of fun for a nhl fan. They have gear for every NHL team, specific player jerseys to generic team shirts. They have a good variety of newer looking logos and throw-backs, and even a couple«ugly sweaters» for the holiday season. My personal favorite item in the store, was the fake carbon figure miniature hockey sticks for hallway hockey, if you know what that is. The store could use a touch of organization and a curtain or something to cover up the storage area and boxes. Now… Time to get some Devils gear!

Great place for all things hockey. So many cool gift ideas from all teams. They also have some cool memorabilia on display, as well as hockey clips on 6 – 8 flat screen tvs and a video game set up. If you are looking for more of something or a slightly different team/player — ask staff. We found they had tons of inventory not stocked.

Two words: tourist trap. My boyfriend(who is a huge hockey fan) and I stopped here during our most recent trip to NYC and even he left a little disappointed. Do they have a decent display of hockey items? Yes. Are they all extremely overpriced? Absolutely. However, this is almost to be expected being in NYC. Here’s the worst part though, they don’t even sell authentic NHL jerseys! I would rather pay $ 200+ for an authentic jersey than pay $ 150+ for their fake ones. Being native Pennsylvanians, we were searching for mainly Pittsburgh Penguins gear and fell short in most places. I would have thought the flagship store would have been much better than this. Disappointing.

Over priced, as expected, but I did find a reissued, vintage item from a team long since gone. The lady at the register was very nice, but the guy working the floor was a d*#!. Guess he assumes women don’t know anything about hockey.

As a hockey fan, I enjoy coming to this store. I’m a NY’er so while it is a bit of a ‘tourist trap’, if you are looking for non-NY based hockey gifts this is the only place to come to in NYC. Vintage styles, unique things. Because there are so many teams and every team is represented, can only carry a certain number of star player specific merchandise. They quickly custom made a jersey for me with a specific name. Had letters In stock and it was done in two hours. That’s fast. If not, was going to wait a week — still not bad. The employees are knowledgable about hockey, players, and the league. Pricing probably on par with any sports store in Manhattan. Probably could of found it online cheaper, yes, but wouldn’t have gotten it in the time I needed that way. I enjoyed they had nail polish sets in every teams colors. A little pricy, but what a great gift for the female hockey fan. Something for everyone.

Pretty good selection of hockey stuff and some very neat displays. Like all hockey stuff, though, it’s expensive as heck. Of course I knew that walking in and was prepared to drop $ 225 on a Maple Leafs jersey. However, in the 20 minutes I was there, not one sales person offered assistance. The one girl was able to stand around and text on her phone and the guys were able to shoot the breeze with one another. Who knows, maybe texting and talking is in their job description? In any event, the one thing they weren’t able to do was to actually, you know, serve customers. I figure they were probably Islanders fans so that’s why they just didn’t try. Boom! It’s not enough that the NHL showed just how much they hate their fans with the stupid lockout this season, then they have to inflict this store on us. If you have such little regard for the fans – who buy the tickets to help pay for your second rate league — why even bother? So I left. I will just either order it online or pick it up when I go to Toronto next month. Or steal one off a drunk guy after the game.
