This place is around the corner from my apartment, and I’ve now been for the lunch special and for dinner. It’s good, hearty, homestyle Italian food. The staff is always gracious and attentive, and it has a classic, homey, «Little Italy in the 70s» feel to it. Portions are generous, they make a mean chicken parm, and the salads seem fresh. The prix-fixe lunch is a great deal, and the prices for dinner are decent. Glad to have them in the neighborhood.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon because I had bought a groupon. Really impressed! Food was great, huge portions, great service and good wine. Only drawback was being inside on a nice day with little sunlight and fresh air. Would recommend for anyone looking for a good Italian dinner in NYC for a reasonable price.

Super greasy spaghetti carbonara– very disappointing. I understand with carbonara and the use of butter, it’s bound to be a bit greasy. But it’s way too much for me. Also, the cheese tastes a bit powdery/fake, I reckon they are not using real grated parmesan cheese for this.

Been here a few times and finally writing a review! I’ll start with the service, everyone is very attentive and welcoming, filling up our drinks and checking on us if everything was ok. Great service is always appreciated! In one visit, I had the gnocchi and it was delicious! I’ve also tried the penne ala vodka and the sauce was great, I couldn’t resist scooping up the rest of the sauce with bread! Would definitely come back!

The customer service was very good, they come around to make sure if everything is good. You feel at home here, not only from the workers but the atmosphere and the music. The food just fills your mouth with some of the best Italian food you can find in Manhattan. They have good prices for the portions of food they serve. I’d go back with friends and family for a good time.

The setting was very cozy and tastefully decorated for the holidays. The service was very good, the server checked in on us several times. We were not rushed and comfortable enjoyed a relaxing meal. The bread was the only item that was not tasty.

We were the only table in the restaurant and it took 40 minutes to get our drinks. I think the problem was that the staff didn’t know how to make the drinks. The restaurant needs to have someone there that knows how to tend bar.

I have lived in Murray Hill for 12 years and have walked by Notaro’s 1000 times and never looked busy. With Italian on our palates, family visiting from out of town and inclement weather we decided to stay in the hood. We all had a version of chicken and the food was cooked to perfection and delicious. Service was excellent, my water glass never went empty!

Found this place on Groupon 20 bucks for 40 worth of food what a steal! Love this place the waiter keeps coming to fill up my water. They are very nice here and it’s a great spot to have a nice date night. Backside fire place makes yoy feel right at home nice and cozy. Try the berry martini you won’t regret it!

Murray Hill: I tried Notaro Ristorante Italian restaurant for a 2 course prix-fixe lunch for $ 13.95. I had a mixed green salad with yummy strawberry sherry salad dressing that was accompanied with bread and olive oil for dipping. I ordered Penne alla Vodka as the main course, and I thought it tasted just as delicious as the entrees I have had in Little Italy. The inside of the restaurant was cozy. It could use a little sprucing up. Service was good. I was excited to find delicious reasonably priced Italian food within walking distance of my Midtown East apartment. I have tried take-out/pick-up and dine-in, and I have been satisfied.

Ordered the food on seamless, which took forever to deliver. However, I thorughly enjoyed the Tortellini Della Nonna that I got. The pasta was cooked just right and the sauce was absolutely delicious.

Awful food for outrageous prices. We are trying to figure out how they are still open, when there is never anyone in there. The waiters are sloppy looking and you wait … and wait… and wait for service.

I was looking forward to the food based on all of the reviews so I ordered through Seamless. The notification told me that the food would arrive in 35 – 45 minutes. After an hour, I called. They said the food was on the way. Two calls later the food was still on the way. By my 4th to 12th calls, they didn’t answer the phone and the food arrived 2 hours later. I had already walked across the street and bought pizza. I hope they get their logistics right.

The service was extremely slow, which was fine because we wanted a relaxing night, but it even then bordered on annoying. The calamari and penne vodka were really great, but the chicken in our chicken dish was a little tough. The waiter also made some borderline offensive comments such as when I asked for butter for my bread, he said they only serve olive oil«to keep me healthier. «ok? Thanks I guess? Overall, it was pretty good but could definitely find better in New York.

I liked this restaurant, a friend and I came for her birthday lunch. Three tables were taken, which is nice, much less noise. I asked them to turn off the radio which was chattering in the background because it was too much background noise for me and they changed it to a very pretty soft jazz. My friend had pasta in vodka sauce and I had basa fish in lemon wine sauce, both with baby greens salad. Everything was very good. For desert we had tiramisu which was one of the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve eaten many. The service was excellent as well. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because although it’s cute and has a fireplace and a bar, I’m not so crazy for the décor, it’s rather ordinary, and they were out of the tea I wanted which was listed on the menu. But that won’t stop me from returning, I will definitely go back again.

Went here the other night with my friend. If we looked at the grade on the door we would have went elsewhere as it’s a B… Between the two of us we ordered fried mozzaralla, spaghetti carbonera and chesse tortelli. All basic food, and all three were awful. The fried mozzarella was soggy. The cheese tortelini was way too soft as it was overcooked and couldn’t taste the cheese at all. The spaghetti carbonera was so salty. We both barely touched the main meals. When the waiter asked how it was, we said the spaghetti was extremely salty. They waiter balmed it on an ingredient and they would remake it. We told them not too. The waiter did the right thing and when he brought the bill he did give us a 15 dollar credit. However we will not be back as my friend is outer state and I would not return. The waiter ended up adjusting the bill for us.

Mediocre food at a high price point. The Caprese salad didn’t have that delicate complexity that I like, the minestrone soup was a pretty random assortment of vegetables(no beans). The chicken parm was pretty good, and so was the cannoli, but overall I expected a lot more for the price. The décor left something to be desired.

Holy sh#t this place is fu$king terrible… Let me set the scene for you. I’m actually sitting in the restaurant right now. I didn’t have the Unilocal app on my phone, but I felt the need to download it at the table to talk about my terrible, terrible dining experience. First off, we walked in and there was NOBODY in the restaurant. You would think a place with 4.5 stars on this site would be a little busy on a Friday night. But maybe that should’ve been the first warning sign… Anyway, we sat here for about 20 minutes before any waiter even came over to us. When he finally did, he asked us if we needed more time with the menu … Uhh what? No apology? Nothing? Okay fine, maybe just an oversight I’ll let it go. He took our order and then said can I get you more bread? We said of course. 40 minutes go by. Anddd… no bread, no dinner. Can I please remind you that we’re the only people here… Except for the consistent flow of seamless delivery boys… Ok well I’m finally ready for my «homemade» pasta… bulls$hit. Pasta straight out of the box, salami was not fresh. F this place. Go somewhere else.

After finding Notaro on , we bought a $ 50 coupon for it and decided to eat there before seeing a movie on Sunday night. Given the reviews for the place, I was only mildly excited. We came in around 9 and were seated immediately, as there were only two other occupied tables. We were immediately given some standard white bread and olive oil, which was a little eh. I perused the menu but already knew I was in the mood for some gnocchi, so I ordered the Gnocchi Sorrentina(potato gnocchi, tomato sauce, diced mozzarella) and a sangria. The bf got the dinner special, which enabled him to get more items than me at a similar price: Trancio di Salmone ai Ferri(grilled salmon with a balsamic vinegar & pesto sauce, servec with spaghetti), a salad, ricotta cheesecake, and coffee. The food ranged from decent to pretty good. The gnocchi was serviceable but kind of bland, the salmon was good with the sauce, and I didn’t love the ricotta cheesecake but that may just be my personal cheesecake preference. The after-dinner coffee was actually amazingly rich and delicious. I was impressed with the service. There was an issue with the certificate, which was not the fault of the restaurant, but we didn’t end up using the deal. Our server couldn’t really do anything about the issue but he was very professional regarding the problem and throughout the rest of the meal. When we told him we were in a bit of a rush to get the check, he almost ran to get it for us. Very kind, accommodating server. The restaurant itself is kind of cute and cozy, but I wouldn’t return for the food. There’s better Italian in Murray Hill, and there’s much, much better Italian in New York City. Notaro is affordable, but the food tastes like stuff you could probably make at home, which is even more affordable.
