I eat here once a week and absolutely love it. The sushi is very fresh and well made. My favorites are the spicy tuna(big pieces of fish not the pulpy mush you get a cheap sushi places) and the fried soft shell crab roll. If you order the yakitori(you should) ask for the siracha sauce on teh side. Wilma the bartender/owner is an incredible host.

definitely ok for the price. Not the best or worst sushi i’ve ever had. $ 8 lychee martini was a good size and tasty. CAn’t beat $ 1 sushi/sashimi and $ 2 rolls specials M-Th. Didn’t try the karoake but may be back for that and drinks.

I came across this place just walking on the street one night. Lured in by a man coming out of the place he claimed that this place had the best lychee shots and the best food. After studying the menu for a good ten minutes I decided to give it a try since it was a place I had never been to nevertheless heard of. The food was very good, I had a pork rice bow with egg. The rice was unusually sweet which made the dish quite tasty. The shots were ok, to my taste they seemed a little weak but I guess thats why they are able to keep the prices low. I did not try the sushi here but I might one day~

HUGECOFFEEMUGSFORTEA. Via mutual friends, I’m cognizant of who own this joint. Formerly Orange Valve, a bar, the owners here adopted a new business model… sushi. Ordered the ISO($ 9.25), which had spicy salmon, avocado, cucumbers, tobikoand tempura flakes wrapped in white seaweed. It was good, but definitely not filling or oversized by any means. Lots of ‘eel sauce’ and kewpie is draped around your plate for dabbing. They also sell jello shots for $ 1 so we had to try them. Vodka was the liquor of choice for infusion. They were served in plastic soy sauce containers which you’re supposed to squeeze the crap out of to loosen the jello shot. Also tried the Tonkatsu Donburi($ 10). A tad on the dry side but you get two huge cut up patties and plenty of rice under it. Great value! Service is slow and nonchalant, but they gave us complimentary carrot cake and tiramisu to try, which was a kind gesture. If using takeout chopsticks isn’t your thing, move on. ½ price sushi from 5−8pm. Just like their service was, I’m Indifferent about going back. Total came out to $ 13 after everything

This recent addition to the neighborhood was almost missed because of the skeleton of metal surrounding the building. If you didn’t already know it was here, you’d just walk on by. A friend had set up a prix-fixe celebration dinner and a group of us met up. Not everyone showed on time, so a few of us sidled up to the bar. What would you like? Cold Sake please. Would you like that hot or cold? Um. Cold Sake please. Do you have any unfiltered? We only have one kind. Steeeriike One. Appetizer was tower of octopus and clams. Not bad. Dinner took a while to show. We staved off our hunger with a few more carafes of cold sake. 20% of the fish tasted fishy. My friend James experienced 30% fishy. Steeeriike Two. Dessert was interesting juxtoposition of tiramisu and green tea icecream, two of my favorite desserts together and an excellent capper to a fun evening with friends. It’s in an easily accessible location, but that’s not enough to make this a special spot to return to. I’d come again to meet up as part of a group, as the waitstaff and management were very obliging. Perhaps they will bump up the stock on the bar. Hopefully they will have 100% fresh tasty fish.

Recent visit for a holiday party with my Asian social networking group has the private karaōke room, which enlightened my interest. The private karaōke room was re-configured with the furniture set up differently. The Wii game station and controls have been re-located in the corridor outside the main karaōke room. The temperature of the room is freezing since it’s located in the basement, however there are two electric space heaters for patrons to huddle for warmth, whereas the upstairs restaurant is very warm. The restaurant is accommodating to permit outside cakes or other sweets. Unfortunately, there is no Happy Hour.
