A guy behind the counter was on his phone. We walk up, wait at least 5 minutes, and then say«excuse me.» He says«I’ve been ready,» and continues speaking on his phone. We point out which slices we would like, and ask for a calzone. We had the definition of calzone wrong, which we were SOGRACIOUSLY told by the man behind the counter. About halfway through his gratuitous explanation of the difference between a «roll» and a «calzone,» we say«okay we got it,» or some affirmation like that, to which he responds«let me finish,» and continues lecturing us like children. Completely inappropriate and self-entitled. Someone needs to remind the workers there that customer satisfaction is how a business earns brand loyalty.

I wish i could give no stars to this place. The rudest customer service ever. I was passed along to 3 ppl just to place an order for one large pie. Then was hung up on before I could pay by card. Then I had to call back to pay. Then was hung up on again before I could add more to my order and before I could get a total. So I called back again to double check my order and the guy was clearly annoyed by having to double check(which was incorrect so glad he went over it) and then was hung up on again. So I called back to cancel my order because I the service was awful.

For a regular pizza, it’s some of the best in the neighborhood. I prefer it much more than Rays or the fast food brands like Dominos. I can’t speak to the options other than pizza, but I’m not sure it’s a place that will be much better than a strictly pizza pie shop. Not a very comfortable place to eat with a few rickety tables. 2 slices get you a free fountain drink. A great place for a quick bite to eat if you’re on the run. Will keep coming here for pizza.

Love this place; it’s my neighborhood go to spot. The pizza is always fresh and they have a good selection. The garlic knots are my favorite. If you order two or more slices you get a soda with your order. The delivery was extremely fast as well and everyone who works there is so nice.

Best pizza in the neighborhood. Have tried all the others. This is my go-to place at least once a week. Pete is consistent. Pete isn’t greasy. Pete is delicious. Pete’s crust is thin, yet substantial, the cornicione(end crust) is spongy, yet crisp. Pete’s ratios are right. Pete always delivers on time. As far as standard non-brick-oven pizza goes, Pete is some of the best I’ve had in New York. Vote Pete, He’ll never let you down…

My order was terribly disgusting. I’ve had poor food but this was worse. The garlic knots were microwaved and cold and chewy. The eggplant was mushy and overly salty and the bread was wet — soaked with sauce. The whole thing was gross.

Terrible customer service. Was hung up on when trying to make a large catering order, then told there is no manager and that they are busy to call another time. Customer lost.

Pizza Pete’s is fantastic! I’ve accidentally walked in here and it was the best pizza that I’ve tried in NYC!!!

This place is incredibly underrated. I dare you to get a slice from here and a slice from Joe’s(which I also love) and do a blind taste test — I find them to be very similar, and I don’t think Joe’s would win that contest by a wide margin(if at all). Pizza Pete’s is very nondescript, and I could take or leave the non-pizza items. But for a slice of classic counter NYC pizza, I honestly don’t believe there are many places better.

One of my favorite slices in the area, but major points off for their customer service. Since Pete’s doesn’t close until 10:30, I ordered a pizza at 9:50 and had no issue placing the order. My order was delivered by 10:15(I do appreciate their promptness) but when I opened the door, the delivery guy berated me for being so inconsiderate as to put in an order at this hour. I explained that I do not get home from work until after 9:30 but he continued to insist that it was much too late. While I appreciate that his shift probably ends when the restaurant closes at 10:30, they should not continue to accept orders after a certain time if their delivery staff is going to berate their customers. Thankfully its an easy enough problem for me to solve– I’ll just switch to ordering from elsewhere if ever I want pizza after work!

This is the best place to grab a slice on the UWS. I really enjoy their plain slice with fresh mozzarella and basil!

Overpriced thin small pizza with an ‘ok’ taste. Extra star for their quick service. Walk the extra block and go to Ceasars

Above average pizzeria in New York City. Doesn’t taste like the touristy garbage by the slice you find in most places in the city.

Very average pizza in an area that has five pizza joints. Nothing bad here, but nothing exceptional. The service is above average, the guys behind the counter are nice enough, but the sauce just lacks in taste and the crust isn’t all that. It does fill a void when I’m starving, but then, I’ve never met a slice I didn’t like. Except the chef boyardee pizza my EX used to make.

Come here if you’re craving some really good pizza. I love this place, the only downside is that it’s tiny — maybe 12 seats total. The staff is really good at encouraging people who have lingered long after they’ve eaten their pizza to allow other people to use the table though, so it’s not so bad. Definitely worth the close quarters for the pizza.

Long ago, someone sent us to a hole in the wall pizza joint on the Upper West Side for a slice. It wound up being pizza nirvana, but we paid it no mind & didn’t note the name. Now, years later, in search of this place, we gambled that it was Pizza Pete’s. Sadly, it wasn’t. While the pizza was fine, it wasn’t mind-blowing. Bummer.

I had some time to kill while hanging in the Upper West Side and was feeling for some quick pizza. Low and behold, I open my trusty Unilocal app and Pizza Pete’s popped up as the highest rated spot in the area. Located on Columbus Ave between 85th and 86th is where you’ll find this small pizzeria. Looking at this place from the outside, it looks pretty much like a hole in the wall pizza joint. The décor is close to non-existent, and there are a couple tables scattered here and there. Nonetheless, it can’t hurt to try right? As far as their pizza goes, I did like the fact that their slices weren’t overly salty. The pizza crust and sauce weren’t very memorable, as I don’t remember how tasty they were, but it wasn’t horrible enough for me to remember that fact either. Price-wise, a plain slice costs $ 2.75, and a one topping will run you $ 3.50. I ended up opting for a plain slice and a Hawaiian. The best part? Buy 2 slices get a free soda. If you do decide to dine here, there is a TV that usually has ESPN going on. Pizza Pete’s. Not a bad spot if you’re around the block. I could see myself eating here from time to time if I were to live close by. However I wouldn’t be traveling here to eat from downtown Manhattan.
