This is usually our go-to when in town as we stay at a hotel just right around the street. This time proved to be unfortunate and the bad thing about it — the appropriate people«owner» doesn’t even care. Hope it goes well for you buddy. When the majority of your patrons on a slow Sunday night are watching a basketball game(uh — game 7)…we don’t want to hear that we can’t listen to the post game because you are a bar and have to go back to music. Wrong answer… Finding somewhere new

I found this place on Unilocal and I thought the outdoor area was pretty cool. At 2:30 pm on a Friday, the rooftop was packed! The rooftop isn’t so big. We could barely walk through the crowd of people but made our way over to a table. This place has communal seating. You need to find a spot wherever there’s some space. Our waitress greeted us promptly and was very sweet. We ordered a jug of cider. It was nice and fresh. Not too strong. Just wish it was served colder. We ordered a margherita flatbread which was good. Nothing crazy. However, the parmesan fries were delicious. Overall, this place is nice for a quick bite.

Victoria was AMAZING. We were a group of loud obnoxious co-workers trying to let off some steam and not only did she put up with us with patience, kindness and humor but she was flexible when we asked to split the bill 1 million ways, when we sent food back because it wasn’t prepared properly. Everything. Can’t say enough great things about her. On top of that the food was delicious. We will definitely be back and I will definitely request for her to be my waitress.

If you want a patio and decent priced food, this is a great place to go. Our service was satisfactory which is why I am giving this place 3⁄5 stars, our waiter just wasn’t very engaged. Food was good and well priced but nothing too outstanding. The guacamole wasn’t very special so feel free to skip out on that. The flatbreads are worth it though! They are a great starter.

GREATFOOD, AMBIENCEANDSERVICE! I took my friend here for brunch on rooftop! Love the ambience and atmosphere. Servers are very friendly and service is great. My only slight disappointment was they had no gluten free options easily available and I could have called in advance to verify. But regardless they were able to modify my burger to my preference but missed the aioli that comes with it which I had to remind later but no big deal! I would definitely come back! BOTTOMLESSBRUNCHFTW! My group of friends and I have been to Tavern29 twice during GovBall trips(2014 and this year) for bottomless brunch because it’s pretty much the BESTTIMEEVER. Unfortunately, this year the weather wasn’t the best so their rooftop was closed, but brunch on their rooftop is pretty much what dreams are made of. Sunshine, booze, and jamming out to hits from the 90’s…what more could you really ask for? I can’t comment much on the food — I mean, it’s decent. Obviously the two hour bottomless mimosa/bloody/beer deal is mostly what draws people in I would imagine. MAJORSHOUTOUT to our waiter and the bartenders who put up with our extreme rowdiness and the dance party we started in the middle of their bar last Sunday. I’VENEVERFELTSOALIVE.

Such an amazing atmosphere! Love that the bar has 3 floors. And the roof top is beautiful! ROOFTOPINMEWYORK, say what?! But if you’re gonna go here make sure you go and see Jessica or Olivia, you won’t be taken care of any better! With an amazing selection of beer, and even better food this place is a must see!

The best part was the guacamole that we got with the Unilocal check in. Was expecting more with 4 stars on Unilocal.Calamari was rubbery and the salad had weird smokey taste to it when it shouldn’t(basaltic vinegar and lettuce). The lobster roll was just odd. The lobster was minced basically. The roll was pretty good though. The part worst was the service. We had to get up for everything. More water, to order, the check. Not into that kind of service when there are so many other places with great service and food. Good ambiance though.

If there was a way to give negative stars I would! Appetizer and signature happy hour cocktail came fast BUT the chips were stale! I ask our waiter to get us new chips, didn’t receive them until after a couple bites into our main course! I asked for a second drink(margarita) which took So long I told our waiter to for get about it! Then I had to ask for water, really all waiters kno that you should serve water when customer orders alcoholic beverages! It’s not only hot and humid in NY but my husband and I were having lunch on the roof top and everyone knows alcohol dehydrates you know matter good the drink is! Tavern 29 was the last top we made before ending our vacay! Thanks tavern 29 for ending our vacay with unforgettable memories!

This place is pretty great for a pub bar atmosphere and definitely a quality bar. We had made a reservation for a large group for dinner. Drinks: a pretty simple selection of drinks and cocktails all reasonably priced. The Ramble On was very delicious and the perfect mix of whiskey and sweet. Highly recommend, even if you aren’t a whiskey person. Appetizers: the guacamole and chips were delightful and downed in seconds. The charcuterie board was okay, I felt they didn’t give you enough cheese options for the size of the board. We then got the sampler which everyone loved and gobbled down, absolutely perfect allowing you to taste a selection of mini sliders, fries, and wings. Dinner: Everyone seemed to enjoy their dinners, the salads looked really good. I had the chicken sandwich which was delicious. It didn’t seem like you can go wrong with any of the options. This place is great for groups, and takes reservations, priced pretty reasonable too!

Been here a bunch — normally just for drinks, but on occasion for food as well. Love the beer selection. Always have good options on tab, and even more available in bottles/cans. Also the rooftop when it’s nice out is truly an amazing spot. Always a fun place to be for both happy hour and on weekends. Only eaten here once, but I have to say that I was a little disappointed. Got the burger, and it was fine, but nothing to write home about. Will still come back for drinks though!

4 stars for the cool rooftop ambience. The happy hour drinks are a good deal. 3 stars for the entrée I tried. I ordered the grilled cheese with soup. It was just okay. Not memorable.

I found this place through Unilocal and thought the menu looked fantastic. Upon arrival, there’s someone at the door to check IDs. I wasn’t here to drink so I sat in downstairs area. The server was super sweet and I could tell she genuinely cared about providing the best service possible. The inner Unilocaler in me had to redeem my free guac and chips offer and I’m sure happy I did! They give you a large amount of guac and it tastes super creamy and fresh. For our meals, I ordered the veggie burger. I thought it was fantastic– almost more flavorful then a meat patty! Only thing is I really could not taste the hummus, but it’s no biggie. My other guest ordered the caprese salad and said it was quite good. It sure looked delicious based off the presentation. Overall, I’m glad I chose this restaurant because it was good from the moment we stepped in.

Tavern29 is one of the go-to Brunch spots offering bottomless mimosas in the city-reasonably. At a glance, you’re greeted by the striking ground floor with its natural brick wall-to-wall design, brass tin ceilings, a large bar and really cute booth nooks. The brick, is softened up with a fusion of antique-y tone mirrors and frames. The second floor has a sizable bar and high tables/stools. Another flight up, and you’re one with nature– dining al fresco. Outdoor dining at Tavern29 is pretty, giving off a rugged brick exterior wall. And to soften the blow again, delicate, white bulb lights decorate the rooftop. Seating is communal and above all, fun while you chitchat and freaking crack up on jokes with people you know diddly squat about. And in the end, it’s just one big wave of laughter. Man, it was a trip! Though adorable, seating is slightly uncomfortable– tables are narrow and have a HS-lunchroom-style to them. Our server was fast on the draw the minute we sat. While Prosecco and unlimited Mimosas were the highlights of the day, food also took center stage. Menu is simple suiting most palates(just wished there was a Lamb dish on the menu). My friend’s Chicken & Avocado dish was rich in ingredients, and my Lobster Egg Benedict(sans hollandaise) was definitely, high quality and lobster was succulent and sweet. To me, it was just fair to size up Taverna29 on my first visit, and the ambience, attentive service and food are all good examples for returning.

Really cute spot! We got the Kobe beef sliders which were more steak-like than it was Kobe beef and Parmesan truffle fries which weren’t personally my favorite… Tasted kinda flakey and the truffle didn’t really come thru. But if u check in for the first time on Unilocal, they give you free guac and chips. And u get alotttttttt of GUAC !!!

A friend stumbled upon this place on Unilocal, and I’m so glad he did! We came here around midnight on a Thursday evening. It wasn’t too crowded yet so we were able to take our time with the menu at the bar. They have plenty of options, whether you’re looking for beers, wines, or cocktails. The bartenders were also really nice — they let us taste whatever we wanted before we ordered! Above all, I really liked the environment of this pub. They have some tables that are separated in little room like areas that really add a touch of intimacy and privacy for smaller groups. Everything was by candlelight too. If you’re taking someone out for after dinner drinks — this would definitely be a good option! I didn’t get to check out any of the other floors or rooftop, but if they’re anything like the first floor, I’m sure they’re great!

Tavern 29 is a American style craft brewery/lounge/restaurant in midtown. I came here to meet 6 friends on the weekend. Looking on tavern 29s website I was debating making reservations. There is 3 floors and the location didn’t look that small. Good thing I made reservations the place was packed at 4:30pm on a Saturday. The hostess and security guard we’re very nice and accommodating. The security and hostess helped us through the crowd to our private lounge table in the back. Thank you staff! The lounge was private. But this place is noisy. There is top 20 hits playing and of coarse all of the people talking and laughing. It was a 20s-30 crowd. They put candles on every table to set the mood. At a bar?! Hmmm I would not recommend if you are on a date. Unless you like to go to loud bars on dates. The staff was above and beyond here for me! Our waitress was so funny even before I started drinking. She was busy but was attentive. When we were done the security guard came and escorted us back out this isn’t LAVO or Provocateer or Tao. remember this is at a BAR! A complete first for me, but a very nice gesture. I only had 1 issue here. On tavern 29s website. They list there menu and beer list. There is 3 floors at tavern 29. The beer list on the first floor where our lounge was. Was completely different than the list upstairs on the roof. Some of the menu items were different. This really confused me. It’s not a bad thing. Just be aware of this. The beer list is all craft brewery’s. You can buy growlers. If you are with a group. Buying s growler is cheaper than individual bottles. Of coarse no one wanted the same beer lol. I was the only one not drinking beer. I had 5 shots of belvedere. They had no grey goose at the bar. They did have some really good single malts I was tempted by. The food: the food was very good here. Tavern 29 has American style bar food taken to the next level. A lot of sandwiches and burgers. We ended up just getting 2 flatbreads to share. We started with the margarita flat bread. A very simple flat bread with sauce and fresh mozzarella. The flatbread was very good it had a nice char from the wood oven and was super Crispy. The second flat bread was the BBQ pulled pork flatbread. Personally I liked the BBQ flat bread better. There was way more flavor. It was pulled pork onions bacon cheese and BBQ sauce. Just so my UnilocalERs know. When you check in here you get a free guacamole app. My waitress had no issue with the check in. I don’t eat guacamole but my friend said it was very good and creamy. Overall. Tavern 29 was nice. The flatbreads were great. The staff was fantastic. Just keep in mind about the menu. I would come back with friends for the food. They do honor the Unilocal free guacamole check in!!!

Amazing for brunch! Had the breakfast burrito stuffed with eggs and chorizo, which went really well with the home fries. However the breakfast platter was definitely my favorite. It came with fluffy mini red velvet pancakes dusted with sugar that I dunked in maple syrup, and offset it with salty Parmesan truffle fries. The platter also had sausage, crispy bacon, and 2 plain bagels with cream cheese.

Not impressed with the Lobster Benedict. Wish it was warmer and more flavorful. Sweet fries are sweet potato fries with balsamic drizzled on top. I wouldn’t order it again. Parmesan truffle fries and Lava cake for desert is where it’s at! You won’t regret it. Next time, I’m going to order a burger. Tried my cousins Tavern burger and it was so delicious: P
