The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

Staff was friendly and the building was clean but that’s about the best thing to say about this place. Iced chai was mediocre and Latte was disgusting, threw away ²⁄₃ of it.

Coffee and tea is ok. Prices are on the high side. Wi-​fi barely even runs, ugh! Starbucks even has a faster connection.

I went there on a Sunday to enjoy some coffee and to catch up on some work. The wifi was down. What a bummer. The staff was pleasant but explained they were having internet problems and only the manager could fix it. The manager was not working this day. Disappointed they couldn’t fix it. A couple of other customers left because of this issue.

Crap service. The baristas — without exception — always forget to make my drink (iced coffee)… ¬_​¬ The coffee is fine, but not particularly notable. Decent waiting lounge if you’re eating at Jacob’s Pickle up the street.

Pleasant and sunny but the «free» wifi doesn’t work very often. They have been «fixing» it for months.

The dark chocolate latte is my go to drink. It has the perfect ratio of bitter and sweet. The staff have always been friendly and funny. Not a bad place to coffee and sit for a few.

Place is nice warm and cozy. There’s seating downstairs and plenty of room to study. Coffee is good.
The Wi-​Fi is either horrible or nonexistent.

WiFi dropped every minute. Very frustrating to get any work done. In fact no work got done because you can’t work with intermittent internet.
Bathroom was not cleaned.
I will leave that comment at that.
My ice blended was mostly liquid then slush, and its the winter for heavens sake.
My companion for the evening ordered the ‘Ultimate’, hers was slushy.
They have a second level downstairs which I thought to be a real neat set up (in concept), however as I started to descend a voice from behind informed me that it was closed off for the evening. What a bummer that was.

This location was always quirky. Over the years, it had AC issues, the credit card and debit card had to be ‘massaged’ into the system to register for a sale, and such… The staff always makes the visit interesting. This store has some characters.
During the day time, this place fills up quickly. I enjoy my mornings here.

I had a cookie latte here the other day. The coffee itself? I was blown away! So flavorful and perfectly done. It wasn’t too sweet, even though it was a cookie latte. It was perfect.
Starbucks prices.
Service was average. The place is pretty big — there is even seating downstairs. It was cute.
There was no soap in the bathroom… Gross. I had to ask someone to get me soap. Meh. Weird experience.

The staff is always nice when I come here. Unfortunately, I can’t get any work done because the wifi is terrible.

Hate this place. Staff is mixed, with some nice but some of rude. I got a lot of attitude when I questioned the price of a drink. And they can’t seem to figure out what an Americano «with room» means.

The coffee was good and strong and just what I needed for a walk in Central Park.
The staff were very friendly from the moment we walked in, from my son blurting out where is the bathroom to the orders placed.
The establishment was bright and clean.
I certainly would return here if I was in the area in the future.

This place is the Starbucks-​killer. Their bran muffins are the bomb — moist, not too sweet, and bran-​intensive — and the coffee is bracing without tasting bitter or burnt. They are my treat for dragging myself into work on tough days.

Late night walk back from a rehearsal dinner for the hubby’s bf’s wedding. Came in right before close. The ladies were singing old school R and B and were lovely. Hubby got his coffee and we continued our lovely stroll. Clean location, not a lot of fuss.

The thing that I really enjoy when I go to this place is that I can stay long and work without feeling pressured to leave. This is a very good place to get some reading and studying done. Surprisingly, the usual customers are not loud at all unlike most coffee shops.

Great experience, friendly staff, good coffer and ta selections.
They should print their menu

1 star for the delicious drinks and 1 star for the friendly cashiers but it goes downhill when waiting for my original blended drink!
they have two computer screens that show the workers what drinks to make. the hot drinks screen that the workers look at all the time and the cold drinks screen that the workers barely look at and just glance at and still doesn’t make the damn drink.
why do I have to wait forever for someone to turn and look at the cold drinks screen?! every single visit I make. it really pisses me off. the manager needs to do something about this! also it’s not my damn job to tell the workers to turn around to look at it!
After an hour of purchase here’s another review update:
Just changed to 1 star! found a damn piece of hair in my drink GROSS!

I went to the location on the UWS on Broadway.
Everything I get is usually good here. the mocha coffee shake is delicious. Its a great spot to work too. I will go back and try more coffee drinks. Their mocha was not too sugary so I prefer it to starbucks!!!

A gentleman who posted a review a while back for this place used the word nonchalant, which I think is an excellent word to sum up the customer service here. This coffee shop is located at the corner of Amsterdam and 86^th and is fairly large with ample space to read, relax, meet up with friends and get some work done. There are tables which are pretty much on top of one another and then a high top bar lining the window which is where you would find me because I love to people watch and hate the claustrophobic feeling of people sitting so close to me at a table. It is not clear where to order beverages. I was standing in front of the cashier and she wasn’t speaking to me so I was under the impression maybe I was supposed to place my order elsewhere and then come to her when I was ready to pay. My sister comes here every single morning and always gets the same thing so they know her and her order. She thinks this place and the service are the greatest things since sliced bread, but this is my review so here it goes. I took a look at what kind of coffees they had and saw the flavored pick of the day, «Toffee Nut.» My sister gave my coffee order to the barista in addition to her tea and the woman told us they were out of the kind of tea she wanted and that they also didn’t have Toffee Nut, it was Crème Brûlée. That worked for me, but I was confused why their boards didn’t match up with what they really had and also agitated they didn’t have her tea. After placing the order, we went to the cash register to pay. My sister told the woman we had a large coffee and tea. Didn’t feel the need to be specific considering we had placed the order with the barista already. The woman ringing us up grabbed a large coffee and filled it with their lightest roast and handed it to me. I inquired with her to make sure this was the Crème Brûlée Coffee that I had ordered and she said no it was their light roast. Ugh. I really wanted the Crème Brûlée, thought that’s what I was getting because I had placed the order with someone else. See what I mean? It’s confusing about where to order and who is making your drink, etc. There needs to be a little bit more organization, it’s too nonchalant. I didn’t want to be a pain in the ass especially since this is the place my sister comes to daily. A light roast is the last thing I would want at a coffee shop but after adding some soy milk that they had out for people (BIG PLUS) it actually tasted just fine. Their prices weren’t bad for a coffee shop in NYC.

Der selbstgemachte tee ist furchtbar; etwa vergleichbar mit dem eilles-​tee in d-​land = schmeckt nach nichts. Schade.
Es gibt eine große kaffe– und teeauswahl.
Im hintergrund läuft etwas nervige dancefloor-​musik und die klimaanlage bläst sebst bei 18 grad celsius draußen erbarmungslos kalt auf den kopf des gastes. Das ist wirklich unglaublich…
Wir werden vielleicht in ein paar jahren wiederkommen und sehen, ob sich etwas verändert hat.
