This is solely a nightlife review. However, by the looks of how much fun people have, I wouldn’t choose to eat here. Dancey, fun music, good crowd without being so slammed you can’t move. Definitely on the divey side so don’t wear your nice s If you’re lucky, you might encounter a dance-off circle.

I went here with a friend after the Orgy concert, it was a thursday i believe, and first thing i would say is the Doorman was super rude and lame! not only to me but my friend, ofcourse i took the high road, the bartender was cool but she was into conversating with a group of guys instead of seeing who actually needed drinks, i would give it one star but they were playing good music so thats why i added the other star. other then that i personally would rather go to another spot then this one. hope they get a better doorman.

Came here for lunch on a Friday. Place was super quiet, only us and another table. It’s a large space, there’s a bar in front and one in the back. We all got the beer and burger special which was $ 12 for a burger and draught beer. Only 3 beers included in the deal which are budlight, yuingling and the Globe beer they have on tap. It had a nice Irish pub feel. Good for happy hour or a quick lunch.

The drinks my family got were so bad. The only saving grace was their chicken tenders and honey mustard sauce. My experience was very bad. The tables were in bad shape and the music was very loud.

Started ordinary enough, Murray Hill crowd, drinks and last decade’s top 40. Crowd was alright but ‘security’ decided they needed to dictate behavior. Rude, dismissive, unnecessarily confrontational, the kind of roided head case that makes any situation scary. Frankly, I’d never spend another dollar there. Better off shuttered than reformed.

I actually really liked this place! Though it was a little too dark for me at 4pm the place was pretty full but we were seated quite quickly and given menus. Between the 5 of us we ordered a bunch of appetizers and a bunch of drinks and we really enjoyed everything. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious. I really appreciated the pita chips that were paired with it. They weren’t over baked like most places! And the chunks of fresh artichokes were great. The wings were excellent. I’m not a fan of overly sauced wings and these had a nice bite without being soaking wet. I loved them. The tater tots are not to be missed! They were HUGE and tender and crispy and heavenly and I’m just obsessed with potatoes and they made me happy. My inner child squealed. The potato skins were serious business. The 5 of us could barely get through an order because it was so large. The mac and cheese was okay. Not cheesy enough for me but it was good nonetheless. And the calamari was impressive for a bar restaurant! 6 beers, 6 shots, a vodka tonic, and a bunch of appetizers came to $ 180. We were pleased with the price and service and would definitely come back if in the area!

I would recommend this place for Happy Hour, on a friday at around 7:30PM, it seemed like most people were there after work. Lots of stuffy, business suit people drinking beer. Overall the atmosphere got into a more bar-going-out-type lounge as the night went on(aka the people next to us started doing tequila shots around 8:30) My friend and I easily got space at the bar in the back and the bartender(when he wasn’t chatting up the 50-something cougar) was fast with the drinks. Overall, not a fratty-type bar which is common for the area, and more of an older late 20s-30s crowd.

Laid back bar. Good bar food(burgers, wings, Mac n cheese, etc). Nothing fancy but a good place to hang out with friends or watch a game.

Disclaimer: I’m biased because I’m obsessed with maps. Therefore, I am obsessed with the globe. Regardless, it’s always nice to actually have cool stuff to look at at a bar

I had a few beers at the connected place to the west of the globe– under the same management and more of a craft beer bar. Ambiance, nice but loud. Bar tender was attentive. Beer list decent but slightly underwhelming. What bothered me is that though it was happy hour, the beers I had were not happy hour priced. The sign outsign didnt refer to a short list or much else and I asked the bar tender as he poured when happy hour was to only to find out later my beers werent marked down. A shame. Not going to return for the lack of transparency.

This is a pub. That’s basically it! They got nuggets and tater tots for food, which are both really good. Came here on a Thursday after work, and it was fairly busy, but not crowded. I would love this place a lot more if they were able to have more natural light, but understandable given their location. Bussers were very attentive to the empty glasses and plates.

Boycott this bar for their devoted attention only to the bottom line, and for ignoring the needs of people. I stopped in on July 4 about 7PM. I was on my way to watch the fireworks in New York City. I really needed to use the restroom before standing for another two hours waiting for the fireworks to begin. There were no other customers at the bar, and only about six people scattered among the tables. Basically, the place was empty, almost desolate. I politely asked if I could use the restroom, and was politely told the restrooms are for customers only. I was then informed that if they let me use the restrooms without buying anything, they didn’t want a hundred other people coming in later that night to use the restroom without buying anything. I very politely told them that I wouldn’t say anything to the hundred other people, if they wouldn’t. They did not find this funny, and insisted that I must buy something before using the facilities. They said their manager — who wasn’t there at the time — insisted this policy be followed. I asked what the cheapest beer was, and was given a list of about 10 beers. I said just give me the cheapest one, and the bartender said«They are all the same price — $ 6.00.» I paid, went into the restroom, and left, having paid six dollars for a Bud Light. Prior to leaving, I told them, again very politely, that I would be telling people to not patronize this place. They did not seem to care one way or the other. I was born in New York City, and have lived in or around New York City my entire life. There have been numerous times when I have gone into a restaurant, diner, bar or any type of service establishment and politely asked if I could use the restroom, even though all of them had signs indicating that restrooms were for«customers only.» I had never before been refused. It is just the New York way, to be helpful, if someone is polite and in need of something. The Globe bar was the exception, and they will never receive my patronage; I will actively tell anyone who asks that they should not received their patronage either. There are thousands of other bars in New York, and many of them are within a block or two of the Globe bar. Go to those other bars instead!

I rarely write reviews for these types of bars… to be honest, this might actually be my first one. A friend of mine suggested a bar near his apartment where we could grab cocktails. He said that it was a no frills type of bar but nonetheless, gets the job done. We walked in and I was all like hmm this is a cute little pub/bar/whatever you want to call it. Then I really looked at the layout some more and was quite impressed. First of all, we managed to snag one of the 2 tables situated right in the window. Literally these are the best seats in the house. Not only do these seats allow you to watch everyone walking by on 23rd st but you can also get a full view of everyone in the bar. These are the pimp daddy VIP seats. So there’s a typical bar area where you stand(but there are plenty of bar seats as well) and also a back area for dancing with I believe an additional bar. There was also a DJ spinning some impressively current and awesome music. We arrived at 11:30 on a Saturday night and honestly not even 10⁄15 minutes later this place was entirely packed wall to wall. I would suggest going at around 11 to secure a good spot! The crowd was definitely on the young side… I would say mid 20’s. While The Globe is definitely a very casual bar, I saw my fair share of women with Hermes bracelets and Chanel bags. Be prepared and dress understated but still nice. ++ Cocktails. The grand finale of this review will be about how absolutely lovely The Globe’s cocktail list is. No they don’t just whip up vodka cranberries and send you on your way. No no no no no. They have a list of specialty martinis. I wasn’t expecting much from them to be honest but I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the apple martini and I had something with pomegranate(I believe it was called«The Pom»). DE-LISH. This is not your typical dive-bar shithole where you will be sticking to the floors. This is in the middle of a regular joe schmo bar and a high-end lounge. Somewhere in the middle is The Globe.

Organized a joint birthday party here one Saturday night. We got to reserve the back area for no extra charge and my friends had a great time! Everything was awesome until I checked my statement a week later and saw that someone turned my $ 50 to a $ 80 charge. Not cool. CHECKYOURRECEIPTS/STATEMENTS

Opinion: I wouldn’t go here because there is nothing special about it. I thought when I came here I was going to get the college hangout vibe. Instead, I got a dark room with okay food. Fun Fact: Someone stole my Victoria Secret jacket here, I’m guessing the person was drunk or just took it from the coat rack. Will I go here again?: The Australian is way better. Meh

I think that I need to pay more attention to the Unilocal highlights because I notice when it says«20 somethings love this place» I hate it and should stay away at all costs! Lol I could definitely do without this place in my life. The music here is good but thats about it. Nothing else stood out to me here whatsoever. Some guy was so drunk he tried to unplug my phone and take it because he previously had his phone charging in the same spot prior to me but forgot that he had already taken his out. Very loud. Sloppy dancing. Definitely not my scene. Props to the DJ but thats about it. I had 1 beer and left!

Quick food, good ambiance, good music, never crowded, nice beer selection, proper cocktails, excellent burger … Pretty much just about everything you’d want in a your neighborhood pub. Weekday’s burger and beer for $ 10 happy hour deal is pretty much a steal.

I go here every few months with my friends. It’s a decent pub nearby, just for a change of pace to my local. Their food is just average, and it sometimes gets really loud, but they usually have some comfy booths available, which is a plus. They have a lot of competition in this area, so if they improved their prices & food, I might be inclined to go more often.
