Been many times on visits to HK. DONT come here if u are not a fan of a packed to the rafters scene. DO come here if you love a crazy frat house come as you are dance party. Normally I do but this past Thursday was so insane and people were so rude and blocking you from walking around that I didnt stay. The chocolate was amazing however. I will come back but this isnt for the casual club or scene person. Not for the faint of heart.

This was a nice place to dance but one of the bartenders was such a dk to me for no reason. I don’t think I would ever come back or recommend this place to anyone solely because of this guy. He has no regard for the people he is supposed to be serving, and will ignore you, roll his eyes, «take your order» while in convo with someone else, which means he will make your drink wrong and charge you double for the wrong drink. Seriously, a fkn dk. This place is small, humid, and a bit smelly, but can be fun once you’ve had a few drinks. Drinks are tiny and weak for what you pay, in my opinion.

I looooved this place, I finally found a great club with great music in NYC. Loved the drags, the dancers, it was incredible fun. Straight guys won’t be very happy at this place just because 80% of the crowd is gay guys, I didn’t feel weird at all but it’s def not a place packed with girls and couples, which makes no difference for me. The only bad side to it it’s that it’s too small for me, and the downstairs floor is way too hot.

I’m not a fan of bars or lounges but dang this is like a whole new level! I’m so glad my friend turned gay and discovered this place. I think gay bars are my new fav. So what is so different about this? I think it’s the environment. Because it’s a gay bar, I don’t have to worry about being hit on. You can go and just have fun with your friends! You also won’t see people dressing skanky and instead, fashionable or even comfortable. There’s two levels and the second floor usually opens later(after midnight). They have dancers!!! AHHH. Attractive gay men dancing on a higher level. There’s also seating all around but majority of us used it to be elevated and danced our tush off! There was one creeper there that kept trying to dance with us by grabbing our hands even though we were persistently rejecting. Besides that old creep, we all had so much fun! We stayed for hourssss. The music was also very upbeat and new. There wasn’t a song I didn’t know. LOVEDIT. I recommend this place to all the people that didn’t enjoy bars like me. Coat check is $ 3 located on the second floor.

Easily the best place to go in the city for a fun night out. I have been going here for years and I am never disappointed! Usually my friends and I end our night here because the party just doesn’t want to end! They have great DJs, hot dancers, really friendly bartenders that know how to mix a drink. I’ve never had to wait long these guys know what they are doing! I love that this place doesn’t have a cover, the downstairs main dance floor is always packed but not uncomfortably so and even if it is they also have an upstairs area that’s not as loud and normally not as crowded. Highly recommend The Ritz if you’ve never been!

First time there. had a blast! No entry fee and the drinks weren’t to bad… a bit crowded and the bathrooms were NASTY! But overall had a blast and the atmosphere was good. The DJ played a good selection and everyone was super chill. Def going again!

I’ve been here for friends birthdays, when location isn’t my choice. I’m not really sure why anyone would choose to come here by free will. It is the kind of place where the music is so loud, you literally cannot speak to the people you are with. If you care about hearing after the age of 35, bring earplugs. The dance floor is so overcrowded you can hardly move or get in and out of the room to get drinks. I’m not a fan of smelling strangers underarm BO-it’s disgusting. The last time I went a guy who was clearly on E was violentely dancing/molesting on everyone in the room, and landed on my ankle with his full body weight nearly breaking it. Any dancing was out of the question for me after that. The staff did nothing to get this guy(with his own water bottle of booze) bounced out– and he was bothering everyone there. The music was crappy-mostly top 20 pop stuff with no other genres or eras. The drinks are overpriced and so watered down that after 3 we weren’t even slightly buzzed. Even the draft beer tasted skunked. The strobe lights and whole vibe is the kind of thing you would have to be really effed up on drugs to enjoy. Like I said, i’m not really sure why anyone would come here. It isn’t great, you can’t socialize, the music is terrible and the drinks are terrible.

It’s an eclectic place but probably not for everyone. I did come here early on a Friday night and it wasn’t super packed. They had dance floor on the first floor as well as the second. We decided to hang out on the second floor. Music was hit or miss but there were actual periods when the DJ wasn’t there or when the music just stopped for 20 second intervals. Very strange. Drinks were quite cheap and decent. I think if the vibe were better and the music more consistent this could be a better place.

My main reason for coming to the Ritz when I’m visiting NYC is to see Cazwell DJ on Thursday nights. Drink prices are average for the city and they’re served in Dixie cups which is also pretty typical for places like this. It’s a gay hotspot for dancing and has two bars with separated dance floors both upstairs and down. It gets pretty crowded in the weekends so be prepared for extreme heat in the dance areas: I literally felt like I was in a sauna. Aside from that it can be a fun place for this kind of scene, and the separate, large bar areas are nice to break away from the heat. The crowd is pretty diverse: older, younger, all ethnic groups, locals, and visitors. With two separate DJs, chances are there will be the type of music you like to get down to. There’s no cover, which also makes it a good place to at least checkout to see if you like the scene on that particular night.

My Absolute favorite for all night dancing! No frills. Just dancing. Two floors, great crowd. Nothing you don’t need, just a bar and dancing. Good smoking section area outside, conducive to communication with the crowd. No cover! Fair drink prices! Loud, all dancing. No room to stand around and be pointless. Well there is a little, but the crowd is active here. Atmosphere = 25−30÷35 year olds, hipster-dive. Not terrible, but divey enough to have a good night of drinking and dancing and recklessness without being stodgy or shy. Minimal dark corners for funny business, just a fun dance-floor atmosphere.

Bougie little dance club in Hell’s Kitchen. The Ritz already sounds like some fancy shamancy hot spot, but is it really? On a weekday night this place was actually quite poppin. A mixture of young and old all around. Pretty hot poppin music as well. The bar is split into two areas. The front end is the bar area where traffic and an un-ideal organization of the place creates a huge clump of people trying to get out or make it to the dance floor. While I could get my good dance and drink on here, I was a little disappointed in a few things. First was the bar service. We ordered drinks right away and had a shot. Then as the night got busy we tried to get another drink, but the bartender kept stalling and taking other peoples orders after we had already placed ours. I saw like 3 people get their drinks after me. So we went to the other side to order from the other bartender who was less busy. Immediately he was willing to make our drinks, but then our initial bartender ran across to stop him and tell him that supposedly we were his customers. He was basically trying to get that tip from the initial order we placed, but he realized too late what mistake he made pushing us to the side. This was annoying as heck. Another thing I am not too fond of is the tiny tiny area for the dance floor. Too narrow and it gets very crowded. We had to dance on the chairs to get some breathing space. Overall I would come here again because it is OK, but definitely not a top hot spot.

I used to go here almost every Saturday. It was always crowded and full of sexy men, but over the months, it started getting more and more crowded, extremely hot(even when it’s –15 degrees outside), and the guys are extremely bitchy and dramatic. The bartenders will sing and dance while you’re standing, waiting to get a drink. Music is good, and if it sucks on one level, just head on downstairs and vice versa. Definitely watch out for the tongue down throat, gyrating gays on the dance floor, who will give you looks as you bump into them.

You may or may not want to thank me for this one day, but you’ve been warned: you will have a hard time showering for awhile after you walk into the air of filthy, dirty debauchery of The Ritz. There, I said it. The Ritz is one of the most raunchiest places I’ve ever been to, and if you love the bawdiness, you will absolutely fall in love with(or even at, if you’re lucky) The Ritz. My friend LOVES this place, even though I didn’t understand why after my first time here – the Britney/Madonna/Gaga remixes were expected, but weren’t really danceable for me, however, the second time was different. I realize it’s the steaminess, the loose canons, and primadonnas are all what make up of The Ritz’s appealing risqué. People here are not afraid to get down and dirty and oh, believe me, it plays out like softcore versions of «50 Shades of Grey» scenes – against-the-wall make outs, hands all over, make outs at first sights – you get the picture. Downstairs is a lot more laid back with Top 40, but if you want the full-on experience of what makes this place such a hot spot in gay nightlife, head straight upstairs to the trophy dance room and you’ll know why. The bathrooms are quite disgusting and should be used with caution – I went in one with a broken lock and was almost walked in on! It makes it worse that the bathrooms are right in front of the coat check line. Overall, this is a fun place if you really want to break out a sweat on the dance floor and don’t mind getting all touchy.

This crowded older space on a Friday night was full of young rowdy urbanites letting loose with happy energy to grainy gay video classics from 80’s Whitney Houston to Pet Shop«New York City Boy» mixed in with contemporary urban rap in a way that was *nothing* but tired. Sweaty smiles filled the large for New York shot gun space — especially in the amplified back dance room where things were peaking at 1am. Prepare to dance, to get bumped, and wear something super casual that you aren’t afraid to get dirty, in this conveniently located downtown space. Closest experience I had to what older 80’s NY was like in awhile. Standing room only and dirty as hell.

The music is one of the best parts about Ritz. Music videos galore and excellent remixes. Whoever the DJ has been on the times I’ve been here has been on his game. Drinks a bit overpriced but I’ve always had a fun time here so I’m not gonna complain too much. There are a lot of gay bars to choose from in New York, especially in Hell’s Kitchen, but Ritz is definitely not one of the worse ones. It stands up there with Hardware and Therapy/Industry as one of the better gay bars in HK/Chelsea in my opinion! The two and half levels of dancing are also a plus, although it can get ridiculously crowded and the patrons a bit obnoxious.

One of my favorite bars in Hell’s Kitchen, It is a great place to hang out with friends or colleagues after work. They have happy hour promo between 4:00pm to 9:00 pm daily. It appears very neighborly during these hours. The bartenders during happy hour are indeed very friendly, they pretty much know their clientele. Upon entering it appears small, but it is actually a multi level establishment. If not mistaken, they occupy the whole building with multiple rooms for private parties and events on 2nd and 3rd floor. They have two leveled back patio complete with bartenders during the summer season. The weekend nights can be very crowded in the dance floor area, Disco starts at 10pm thru early hours. They serve free hot and delicious pizzas on a Sunday afternoon. This is a great pit stop if you and your friends are going for a bar hop.

Ommmmmgahhhhhhh. Come here! You will have a blast. Best gay bar in nyc. Very welcoming to all orientations :) The happy hour is literally the best deal in nyc. $ 6 Tanqueray gin cocktails? You can’t beat that. Not to mention this place is as fun as fun gets. Planned to stay here for one drink last week and ended up staying for hours having a blast with the boys behind the bar. Shout out to Xavier and Stephanie for welcoming us and being the best bartenders in nyc :) Word is Friday and Saturday are the best nights out. Will be back soon!!!
