U Like Chinese Take Out

I’ve never had a problem with U Like. it really is the go to Chinese takeout in Inwood and it’s freakin quick !

The food is good when they actually remember to deliver your order. It’s happened three times in a row… I’ve made delivery orders and end up calling the restaurant because more than an hour passes by and still no food. When I call they tell me the delivery guy had already left and he shows up 30min later. Unfortunately 3 strikes and you’re out.

Sometimes good, usually bad. I’ve given this place way too many chances. The sesame chicken is almost always gooey and the rice is bland. Ten-​Tan and Lotus Express are much better options.

For what it is (Chinese takeout), this place rocks! Delivery is fast and the food is usually good. Portion size is large but sometimes the protein is skimpy.

Gen Tos Chicken is good, spare Rib Tips very tasty,
At times they are very busy with a lot of MTA EMPLOYEES ordering so at times it slows service up.
Prices are fair.

I’ve been coming here for years for both takeout and delivery. Owner John is a great guy along with Winnie: a kind young woman with a beautiful smile and excellent people skills she reminds me of Michelle Yeoh (I don’t know the names of the others) they really go out of their way to make sure the customer is happy. Why do I give them five stars? 1.) The food is great. I usually get the chef’s specials: happy family, seafood delight, garlic sea treasury, etc. 2.) Excellent customer service: I have several food allergies and they’re extremely accommodating in this regard. 3.) Super-​fast delivery! 4.) Reasonable prices, not expensive. 5.) Nice people: This matters to me, maybe not to everyone. It’s nice when people take pride in their work, after working long hours they still greet you ready to take your order with a friendly attitude and a smile like the day just started.

Best crab Rangoon I’ve had in my life. If I lived here, I’d be eating here everyday which would be a great way to have a heart attack. So good!

I’ve been on a bit of a Chinese-​kick lately, so I thought I’d include a review of U Like, which I’ve been going to and ordering from for a few years. My girlfriend lives just a block away so this is our ‘go-​to’ place for good cheap fast food. Like most New Yorkers, we’ve had our share of Chinese take-​out. So, what’s there to like about U Like? First off, they’re fast. We’ve never had to wait long for a delivery. However, on a few different occasions, our orders have been wrong, and I’ve had to go back to them with my order to get it corrected. It’s a serious PITA, but they’ve always changed my order with apologies and given me a few free extra sodas.
Their food isn’t outstanding, but, then again, hardly any Chinese take-​out ever is. Everything I’ve tried has been good, with the exception of their hot n’sour and egg drop soups. YUCK! Their prices and portions are the reverse of most restaurants in NYC, meaning you get lots of food for dirt cheap without the dirt. I don’t know the name of the tall Asian guy who works there, but he’s always been friendly and nice to us. Given the lack of diverse choices for dining in Inwood, unless you want Spanish food every night (not knocking Spanish food at all for it’s Damn Good!), I’ll be continuing to order my late night take-​out fro U Like, but making my own soup…

Possibly the worst Chinese food I’ve ever tasted! Absolutely greasy and just wrong on so many levels starting with the name… I DO NOT LIKE!

This is our go-​to Chinese. It’s tasty, but damn. they get my order wrong /​mess it up 50% of the time. I order broccoli with garlic sauce and they often just leave it as brown sauce — which is pretty gross. It’s like salt goo. My husband likes their chicken, so we tend to go with them but I’m always like «they’d better not give me salt goo or Buddha’s Delight again!!»

Crab Rangoon is amazing. Love the boneless spare ribs, out of this world. Lo mein is pretry good. Orange chicken with vegetable fried rice is my favorite to order. They deliver pretty quickly so that’s a huge plus. The owner is very amicable.

Average Chinese with cuisine, nothing special. I tried to like U like but I don’t like U like. There are better places in the area. Checkout Lotus, this is my absolute last resort. The general tso’s chicken isn’t good at all here, very mushy and not spicy at all.
Its not terrible thats why only 3 starts, just ok. there is definitely room to improve.
delivery is decent between 30 – 60 minutes and food arrives hot and well packaged.

I stand here in the throes of hunger. My sesame chicken seemingly lost to the tides of history. The management indifferent to my pain. Avoid my fate and choose more wisely than I!

Sorry…but guys, you’re asking for it with a name like «U Like».
It’s just not good food. It’s just like any other walk up or order online/​on the phone Chinese place. Except they are slow with delivery and they food arrived cold.
For GOOD Chinese delivery in Inwood, check out Lotus Express. Great prices, friendly service, good food and relatively speedy delivery.

This place is hit or miss. Ordered from here last monday. Food was great (chicken with broccoli, vegetable fried rice, ½ chicken)
Today I walked in and ordered to go, The chicken was good but rice was inedible, seriously undercooked. I only have white rice or vegetable fried rice because the pork, chicken fried rice is not very good. INCONSISTENT

They’re right. I Do like.
In my continued search for good Chinese cheap cuisine I finally succeeded. Better than Ten-​Tan (read my previous review about it) but still nothing beats Lotus. close 2^nd due to the cheaper prices.
Ordered Peppersteak and pork fried rice, pork roll and fried wonton (dont judge me I was hungry) Definitely tasty, not too greasy and beyond gracious portions.
Problem here is that my meal comes with a can of soda. instead I found a bowl of sweet and sour chicken sauce. so the mix up shows me they can get sloppy.
If I’m on a budget I’ll stick to this spot. when it’s payday I’ll hit up Lotus instead.

Ordered from here because of a coworker that use to live around me & the reviews on Unilocal.I love this place!!! I have lived in Inwood for years and been ordering from these other nasty places… anything u order is fresh and clean the service is really nice too
