Good food, big tables, good for large parties or business dinners. Large bar area also and the snacks are great at the bar. Been there many times. Only negative is hat they are slow to wait on you at the bear tables, and you should check your bill as one waitress brought us a $ 400+ bill not once, but twice, in error because she confused it win the next table.

Went with group of 13 on a Thursday night.. Waited for 30 minutes for waiter just to take a drink order. Took additional 30 min to bring and was screwed up. Seem to have inexperienced wait staff. Prices are ridiculous, small portions, over cooked entrees, waited additional 70 minutes for food to be brought. Place wasn’t even crowded and the service was terrible. For these prices, place is way overrated. Granted this is TriBeCa, but there is no excuse for these kinds of places. The only kudo I can give is that the interior décor is beautiful. If they can rip people off and get away with it, all the power to them. Manager was told of our issues and made excuses. If you overpay for good food, it is easier to accept. RUNFAST!

Not entirely sure what to do with this place. I want to love it, but part of me has a distaste for it. I honestly don’t know why. Let me try to explain. It’s a huge space. Like, incredibly large and airy. You may not be able to hit another diner with one of their beautifully fresh baked dinner rolls. Double-height ceilings add to the airiness and feel of overwhelming luxury here. So, to the food. It’s modern American, but somehow doesn’t feel like it should be. Oysters are served with simple but well executed complements and sauces. No problem there. Appetizers aren’t for sharing — there’s not enough volume to share, and not enough flavor to warrant a half bite each. Entrees, you ask? I’ll tell ya. It’s all good enough, but just good. Uninventive, and a bit boring all round. Cod, branzino and hangar steak are the highlights, but not too bright. As this place tries so hard to be luxurious, it loses any sort of energy required for a night out. Maybe this quiet luxury is what TriBeCa needed. But probably not. Well there it is. Apparently, I did know why I had a distaste for this place.

White Street is my favorite place to brunch in the city! The menu is delicious, especially the chicken and waffles! Everyone on the staff is exceptionally nice and the décor is stunning. I completely recommended this place for a Sunday brunch date, it really gets no better than this.

We had a reservation, but didn’t get sat for 45 minutes. Everyone was extremely apologetic. Our entrees were A+ and it didn’t take more than 15 minutes after ordering. We were comped drinks and dessert for our wait time. Servers were excellent. Atmosphere was great.

Everything… everything was superb. Service, ambience, music, not overly loud… you can actually have a normal conversation without having to raise your voice, wine, appetizers, entrees and desserts were all magic. Hot asparagus soup in a shot glass; perfection. Baja fish tacos with perfect amount of guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream with perfectly fried fish! Baby artichoke salad with parmesan, paper thin celery, parsley and lemon oil is a taste sensation treat. The cod with pureed cauliflower as a base, grilled baby cauliflower, fennel and spicy tomato was layer upon layer of flavor. Dessert; I had the chocolate bourbon pecan pie and coffee. I love it when the creamer is in a perfectly chilled pitcher… such a fantastic detail that is not overlooked here. The chocolate bourbon pecan pie was the perfect ending that was topped with ice cream with caramel drizzle.

Great ambiance, super boojy, and a decent price for decent food. I was there for my girlfriends birthday and we had a great time, so we were loud… and they let us know… literally. It’s a great date restaurant, for a mature crowd. Overall a good spot to go with the hubby, not with a group of rowdy people who are trying to live it up! I got a great parking in front! The reservationist was a sweetheart, very attentive. Our server was a sweetie, but some of his co-workers weren’t so bright… whoever said it was a good idea to cut and serve massive, brontosaurus pieces of cake(instead of normal slices and wrapping up the rest for her to take home) was not the sharpest tool in the shed. Cool spot, I would go back.

This place is huge as wraps around the corner out to a small street café area on actual white street. It was still fairly packed at 10pm which is their latest reservation. They were nice enough to call at 956 to tell me not to worry if running late as kitchen was not closing before we ate. I happened to be waiting at bar as my other party had not arrived. Bar tender was nice and helpful even though I was just getting waters. I was sat without her and ordered first course. It was liver mousse which we get some variation at many restaurants. The mousse and the honeycomb honey it came with was to die for. Our two entrée were both very good and up to nyc standards. My lamb was slightly more rare than the medium I like but since such good lamb glad it was. Short Ribs could have been more fall off the bone but if that is the bigger complaint it is a really good meal. Wines by the glass are pricey as the Chardonnay was 18 per. I was not drinking as enjoyed happy hour before hand but cappuccino I had was perfectly made. Service was attentive throughout even though we were one of last parties to leave. They do have stairs up to main entrance but elevator is available for those that need it.

Yikes! This is an uninspiring restaurant that feels like it belongs in Midtown and not Tribeca. The food was ok, but nothing great. I had the lobster bisque to start and the short ribs tacos(which were supposed to be a specialty) but was just ok. I tried the Bronzino which was also fine. The décor was just very blah and business lunch-ish. the place was also EMPTY, granted it was Monday night, but there are a lot of restaurants in Tribeca that are a lot busier and more lively on a Monday night.

5 stars for ambience. Gorgeous romantic and quite large restaurant, great for a private party or a cozy date night. Chic bar area. We requested a nice table for our anniversary and they gave my boyfriend and I a large leather round booth, which you need to request for special occasion. 4 stars for service. The bartender was extremely knowledgable and friendly. We had two cocktails at the bar. I highly recommend the vodka with Thai chili and cinnamon option. Waiter was also attentive and not pushy. However our food came out way too fast, 15 – 20 minutes after ordering and we hadn’t even finished half a glass of wine yet. This was the only complaint and reason for the 4, not 5 stars. ¾ stars for food as we were not blown away by either of our dishes. We had the squid ink bucatini with lobster and the short ribs. The bucatini had very little actual pasta in it. Decent amount of lobster, but really not filling enough if you’re hungry. The short ribs had a nice crunch to it and the polenta base was very tasty, but overall a bit salty. I would highly recommend the caramel apple dessert, as it was the best part of my meal. Warm apples topped with additional fruit, vanilla bean ice cream and candied walnuts on a flakey puff pastry.

My husband and I went here for a late-valentine’s day celebration. As many have already stated, we were enchanted as soon as we walked into the glamorous entryway. The place is just beautiful. We arrived early to avoid crowds, and were seated at a large round booth(I mention the size because my husband is a large man, so its nice to have some breathing room in a NYC restaurant!) Service was impeccable – friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. Menu items were innovative, well balanced, and a delightful play on all five senses. We had a prix fix menu that consisted of: –Amuse bouche: beet merengue with goat cheese and mint(fantastic) –Appetizer: salmon tartare(fresh, good portion size, tasty, beautifully presented) –Entrée: short ribs(well-flavored with a fun kick to it, large portion) –Dessert: chocolate button(artfully presented with a toasted merengue that tasted/smelled like slightly burnt marshmallow – fantastic with the rich chocolate mousse, large portion size) The sommelier paired a wine with each course(we had a coupon), and she did a stellar job. The entire meal took us close to two hours, which is a real treat – no one rushed us, we never felt crowded out or pressured to hurry up. A perfect date place(for special occasions only!), we will DEFINITELY be returning again.

Stay far far FAR away from this place. The food is awful. Everything started off great when my friend and I ordered cocktails. They were made to perfection! It was a delicious start to a meal. The next thing that came out was the short rib tacos appetizer(2 per order) and they were amazing as well. I savored every bite awaiting for the next course in anticipation. Unfortunately, I was WILDLY disappointed from there on and my positive review of 4 stars went down to 1. As per the recommendation of the server I got Chicken Roulade. I beg of you, do NOT get this dish, whatever you do. It was absolutely disgusting. The meat wasn’t cooked all the way, it was cold, and there was a ton of gristle that I had to spit out. I felt quite nauseous after taking a few bites of this dish. The sides of over-spiced french fries and cold dry cauliflower were terrible as well. The chicken also came with Brussel sprouts that had a really weird after-taste. I left almost all of my food on the table and asked for it to be taken away. No one asked if I enjoyed my meal or why I hardly touched it. I will not return!!!

Came here for Valentines Day Eve and everything was beyond amazing. We ordered the gnocchi as an appetizer and they gladly split it in two for us. That along with my specialty cocktail was a perfect start. The private room we sat in was gorgeous. The rest of the restaurant is absolutely stunning. I asked for the cod to be prepared like the skate wing, and the chef gladly accommodated. My boyfriend enjoyed the hanger steak — and our server, Sean was the sweetest. Our plates were completely clean at the end of our meal. This ranked way up on our list of some of the best meals we’ve had in NYC. We’ll be returning for sure.

My fiancée and I wanted to book a space at white street to hold our wedding reception. While speaking with the event staff they gave a price that we were extremely happy with. After our long search we thought we had found a venue for our reception! We had our coordinator go look at the space and she gave us a thumbs and began to tell us her vision. After about two weeks of chatting with them via email we asked for a proposal. When they sent the proposal, they let us know that somehow the event manager got confused when speaking with the owner and the price was actually around 20k more than they quoted us! Worse yet, they admitted complete fault but wouldn’t honor the price they quoted for two weeks via email. Completely unprofessional. Thanks White Street! You wasted our time and our money(paying our coordinator) with your unprofessionalism.

cocktails are 4.5…would be 5 w/more bourbon based variety. But I loved the Miles! food is between 3.5−4…everything is good, but they didn’t meet my expectations. nothing that specially unique that aparts White Street from other restaurants ambiance and service is 4.5…very professional It’s a romantic place to go for a special occasion whether it’s with a date, friends, or family. I went for a Saturday dinner at 6pm. It was pretty empty but the place got a lot more people in after 7. You feel like you’re walking into a museum with the stairway leading to the entrance. The place is pretty big and has dim lightings. It looks really spacious and cozy. They’ll take your coats for coat check and seat you until the party is all there. The bartender was so friendly and loved to carry a conversation-in a good way though! –Tiger shrimp. few pieces of shrimp so it’s not good to get it for a bigger party. But I definitely liked the shrimp with the freshening sauce. –Roasted Pear Salad-it was my kind of salad b/c I love goat cheese. Nothing that special though. –Short Rib-interesting dish, tender meat, I would try something else next time if I return –Brussel Sprouts-I prefer the whole brussel sprouts or ones that cut in halves. They serve it shaved here. Like I said, everything is good and I came with a Gilt voucher. So it was definitely worth the money that I paid for. but I would be hesitant on returning just for food. I would absolutely return for the cocktails!!! Very strong yummy cocktails at a nice quiet bogey– looking bar? Sure :)

Great space, atmosphere and service. Quality of the food and service was excellent. Not your average price point, four of us dined for $ 900 but we went all out. Highly recommend the snow crabs, oysters and short ribs. Definitely coming back.

Have to admit. I’m a fan of this restaurant. I wasn’t even really that excited about going except that we had a good deal on a gilt voucher. The menu looked… boring based on the dishes listed. In any case we journeyed all the way down to Tribeca and I’m really happy that we did. First off the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. High ceilings, dark, and really warm and inviting in an upscale sort of way. Because this place is so nice we didn’t even mind that the service was a bit uneven(took about 10 minutes from when we ordered our drinks until they bothered to ask us what we wanted to eat). Anyways… So I also have never been a fan of microgastronomy, and this restaurant definitely borrows some of these techniques. But it was OK because every dish we had was flawlessly executed. I mean the flavor profiles were te definition of perfection. They took what should have been a basic chicken roulade and made it into probably one of the best chicken dishes I’ve ever had(and I’ve had a lot of chicken dishes). The short rib tacos were equally special. The foie gras and chicken liver mousse had us scraping the bottom of the jar it came in. The only real«come back down to earth dish» was the hangar steak. They could have done more with it but even that dish was really, really good. The drinks were all kinda sweet and the dessert was meh… but by that time we didn’t care. We had been to the promised land. Highly recommended for a date night or an outing with that someone special.

After repeatedly calling and complaining to the restaurant, I was finally refunded the money unjustifiably charged to my credit card. I found it amusing, though, that I didn’t receive an apology when they finally called me to let me know. Read my prior review for more detail.

So me and three of my boys heard this place has an incredible cocktail list. Understatement! The Crosby was my favorite. Between the four of us we didn’t have two of the same drinks. We went through the whole list. Chris Cardone is a master of his craft. Top 5 dead or alive good. The food was out of this world also. Squid ink bucatini and octopus were the best way to start. Duck fat fries to share was the best move we made. I had the halibut that was priced right and out of this world. Foie grais was pretty good as well. Finished it all off with a goodnight shot of fernet branca. Warm embrace from everybody there. But especially Kat the GM/maitre d, who is not only stunning but commands that room with glances and touches every table so gracefully. And thanks again to Chris who can elevate your experience from and 8 to an 11.

White Street is impressive, from the high-ceilinged and well-decorated space to the surprising and unique menu. I had an amazing dinner on Cinco de Mayo, that began with spicy margaritas, fresh New Jersey burrata, chilled rock shrimp, and half lobster and squid ink bucatini. My favorite of the starters was the burrata on toast… it was just so delicious(and not at all runny, which I very much appreciated). The chilled rock shrimp was a mayonnaise-based salad dish. And the lobster bucatini was very tasty, but difficult to share(as our awesome waitress did warn us). For entrees, I absolutely loved the Taro Crisped Halibut… so much flavor! And my friend’s Duo of Elysian Fields Lamb was also perfectly prepared(I got a bite). The service was superb… our waitress took such good care of us. Our wine glasses were never empty, and I loved the rose she picked out for me. Though we skipped dessert, we got one last drink at the bar, and the bartenders were professional and friendly, as well. I can’t wait to go back!
