This used to be one of my go-to spot for lunch when it was still known as Zigolinis. I went back last week with my coworkers and to our surprise, the restaurant had changed its name to La Dama. As we walked inside, I noticed the new updated wall décor in the back which was nice. I was just hoping they didn’t change the menu. and they did. My go to lunch item was their chicken kale cranberry salad. I spotted the kale salad on the menu. The only difference was the cranberry was replaced with strawberries. I thought it sounds refreshing, so I went ahead and ordered it. Big mistake. upon my first bite, I was confused as to what I was eating. My salad was spicy. I definitely didn’t expected it to be spicy, esp with the fact that it has strawberries in them. I suck it up and ate it anyways only because I was so hungry and was cutting short into my lunch break. Towards the bottom of my salad, it got really sweet. I saw all the syrup had sank into the bottom of the plate. Not appetizing at all. FYI your beer was warm when I got it last Friday! Zigolini used to serve Stella. Then, they switched to Easy Blonde and now pale ale. Why? Please bring back Stella! oh and kudos for adding sweet potato fries onto the menu. extra star for that!

Not recommended! The awning says La Dama and the food is a mix of Latin dishes but the bill still says Ziggolinis. Very deceitful bar practice of adding surcharge if drink is on the rocks. The manager acted like I was a novice to not know this is standard and got sarcastic/rude when I continued to object. Will never patronize this nasty place again!

The bar has changed names but Zigolinis was written on the check so the review is here. It’s no surprise that the review before this mentions an upcharge. After ordering two Ketel Ones on the rocks, we found an extra«prep: rocks» charge of $ 3 per drink. It was explained that getting the drink on the rocks somehow constituted getting extra alcohol and therefore there was an extra charge. This was never mentioned by the server and was not written on the menu. Had we been told about the surcharge, we could have made the decision of whether or not to order it. We refused to pay and the bartender came over with an attitude, saying it was standard practice in New York(never mind that this lifetime New Yorker had never experienced it). After googling it, you can see that there have been news reports about other shady bars and clubs doing this. We were polite but assertive. He was rude and threatened to call the cops if we did not pay it. He later gave a non-apology apology and we paid the bill. It’s no wonder the bar was nearly empty when we came in. The food and drinks were just ok. You’re better off going to a nearby bar on Pearl, Water, or Stone, none of which do this kind of shady business practice.

Extremely overpriced and mediocre quality. A lot of selections but they charge you for absolutely everything. I ordered a tuna salad(tuna, american cheese, tomatos on a whole wheat wrap) for $ 8.00. I asked for lettuce and they charged me an additional $.50 for a tiny handful of it. Everytime you order the make your own salad, but get the same items in it, its always different in price. The only reason this place gets so much business is because there is nothing else downtown. Stay away.

I don’t know why this bar isn’t packed every time I go, but it’s not. And that’s okay by me. Good ambience, friendly bartenders, not too noisy, and great food. Try the tuna tartar and the tacos. Delicious.

Good munch place. Will def come again. The salad I had was on point. Chicken avocado Cotji cheese in a lemon vinaigrette with tortilla chips was perfect and the guac was actually really really good. Def would recommend for a nicer lunch. However place is pretty small so get there early. Menus also a bit limited and they serve tex mex for lunch and I think Italian for dinner.

Came here on a cold winter day when it was about 12 degrees outside. I was hoping to have a nice glass of wine in a nice warm restaurant. Well, guess what? It was warmer inside than outside, but it felt like it was 50 degrees inside the restaurant. In fact, I had to wear my Northface fleece and my wool scarf just to not freeze. They don’t even have happy hour, not sure if I will return. Don’t be so cheap, turn up the heat!

If Chipotle is a 5-star in this Mexican fsst food arena then th is place is a 3-star. Food was blan and portions were no that of Chipotle.

Came here for lunch and ordered a cheesesteak. The sandwich was cooked-to-order so the meat was very juicy. The only downside was that the slices of meat were way too big, and a little chewy. I ate half for lunch and the other half for dinner and was filled.

The food and drinks are good. They staff is friendly and accommodating. But overall everything is slow or they make mistakes. You might have to order multiple times to get what you need. I think the management is clueless or incompetent or both. They have not hired enough staff to handle a restaurant. The staff tried to do their best.

The best thing Zigolini’s has going for it is their willingness to reserve a party of 10 for lunch a few hours before prime lunch hour. After multiple visits, I can see clearly why — it is because you can do much better elsewhere in the Financial District. They used to have a menu where one-half was GuacStar and the other half was Zigolini’s. Now the menu is a piece of printed brown copy paper with a few sandwiches, salads, and entrees on it. Though the menu is small, it takes forever to get your food, whether you are 4 or 10 people. The servers are impersonal; they write down your order, punch it into a computer, then auction off your food when it is ready much later. Next time, I’m brown bagging it and going to the Elevated Acre. Better people watching!

I would have given this place a four star review except for they charged for a refill on coke. We came here on a Monday evening and it was pretty busy so we figured we would try it for dinner. I really enjoyed the fish tacos, you get three but no sides. Hubby had the steak frties, I tasted it and it was fine although I noticed he cut out a lot of fat from it. I think this would be a good place for happy hour or lunch.

This is probably my go-to place for any buffalo chicken wraps. I don’t order anything else except this because other patrons who come also order this as well. I mean sure they also serve chicken parm, ahi tuna and etc but who doesnt love a good buffalo chicken wrap? If I haven’t said it yet, go for the buffalo chicken wrap! You won’t be disappointed.

Love coming here for happy hour! in particular, their seasonal sangria and parmesan garlic fries are to die for! i also love that they are now connected to GuacStar so you can order guacamole with your drinks. Great convenient location as well. Slightly on the higher end of the happy hour price scale and the service isn’t always the best(nor consistent) but I always come back for my sangria, huac, and fries!

The white sangria was so delicious. Me and a friend are here after work, talk and ate great food. Great atmosphere but you might have to deal with drunk workers around screaming.

New management is clueless. Sandy didn’t ruin this place, they did. As I write this, my fiancé and I are eagerly waiting for the check, there are four drunk women that are so loud, my ears are ringing. That’s to be expected at a happy hour, but considering this is Wall Street, that’s not what my problem is. My problem is that management believes it to be a suitable atmosphere to allow for all hard surfaces. This produces reverberation and amplification of loud screaming, drunk-off-1-beer 45-year old Wall Street«secretaries.» Therefor, we can’t hear each other, let alone the waitress when she comes to place our order. Then there is the food. I had better food at Syracuse University dorms when I attended there. Here, it is bland and ridiculously overpriced. $ 24 for a fajita that has no taste? $ 15 for a rubber«steak and cheese?» If that’s your type of food fanfare, by all means come here. On a nice note, the service is the only reason they get even 1 star. And clearly, the one waitress, who also had to run the bar, was clearly overwhelmed due to the understaffed dilemma and understandably so. We will not be back. Nor will our clients. Oh, and the bathrooms. They have a floor-to-ceiling window with a «privacy screen» if you’re into that too.

Man, the food around here can be bad. Zigolini’s is the ‘upscale,’ sit-down part of a triumvirate of interconnected places that run from Pearl Street down toward the water. In the middle is inoffensive and uninspired Guac Star, with a sandwich counter towards the water. Zigolini’s motto is a Zoot Suit era dancer, but there’s nothing historic or classy about the cut-rate bar food on offer here. Anyone who deviated from the Guac Star menu(which is also available here at lunch) was rewarded with food that was simply bad. Undercooked vegetables, thrown together sandwiches — it was an ugly sight. These entrees took nearly 45 minutes to arrive during lunch, which is not acceptable in the Financial District on a weekday. Nothing was comped and little apology was forthcoming on the poor service, which also included bringing two orders of chips instead of one order with salsa and guacamole. And honest mistake, but sticking us the extra cost wasn’t appreciated. Too formal to be a nice bar, too shitty of a food place for a good meal, Zigolini’s falls into a long list of restaurants in this area(about 75% of Stone Street) that tries to be many things and just winds up being mediocre. No wonder so many businesses are moving to Midtown.

It’s not often that I would spend $ 19 on a lunch pita sandwich meal for one person and not have eater’s remorse. Fortunately the remorse only lasted a few minutes because the food there was pretty good. My colleagues suggested lunch at Zigolini and I was in the mood for something good, healthy and different. The restaurant is cozy where you can be seated in bar height tables/chairs or the normal table seating. I suggest not to sit near the door entrance because you’ll feel the cold draft when the door is opened(during the winter). The menu prices are(as some may say) reasonable for the area with most items over $ 10(except for two appetizers that are less). Wanting something healthy, I’ve decided on the Hummus with grilled eggplant, zucchini, spinach and harissa mayo on a pita bread(with fries included). The food choice was right on because the Hummus pita sandwich was very good and tasty. The seasoned fries were also good. I would recommend Zigolini and wouldn’t mind a return lunch visit. Half a star is taken away because the waiter asked if we wanted our change even though a gratuity charge was already included in the check(which we weren’t told). I would advise diners to review the check to ensure the restaurant is not double dipping on tips.

Decent eatery near my new office. We recently came here for lunch since they just reopened about a month ago. Everything in the area was still recovering from Sandy. We sat outside since it was a beautiful day, therefore I cannot comment on the interior. Service was fast and attentive but they didn’t refill our water glasses. I had the Mediterranean salad. It was very yummy and surprisingly filling. One coworker had a sandwich and asked for no bacon but they still gave bacon. Another coworker had a buffalo chicken sandwich, which looked tasty. Everything here appears to be pretty fresh. They also split the outdoor space for dinner service with the guacamole place next door.
