I never updated about the Prime Rib hash. Should have done this months ago. Unlike many other steakhouses these guys have a breakfast menu so they can capture more travelers. I needed breakfast and I wanted something different so I took on the Prime Rib Hash. This is a massive plate of(what I assume is last night’s unsold cuts, with skillet-ed potato and onion and some pepper if I recall. It’s almost too much meat and they might be better served to slice the cubes a little smaller. Jazz it up with salt and pepper to your liking and this is pretty decent. Of course like the BLT, it ain’t cheap. It’s worth a try if you have a couple of bucks to overspend on it. I think I came with eggs as well for around $ 20 or so. I might actually tackle this in my kitchen the next time I have some prime rib leftovers. If nothing else, Thank for the idea Mr. Gallagher!

Have only stopped here for breakfast because for anything else it is just too pricey for airport fare. Heck, even if the steaks were as great as advertised, the crowded tables and indifferent service staff would push it down the list for me. The food is pretty good, but for these prices I would expect that. I guess for me it is the service aspect of things where they seem to fall down a little. For $ 20+ for a plate of eggs and hash I guess I do expect a little bit more attention to things like water refills and the like. Despite the flaws I find myself going here because when you are with a client in the airport and you have time to sit for breakfast this is a better option than the food court… at least for atmosphere. If they are going to charge above average prices, the rest of the experience needs to meet that as well. Just my two cents…

Gallagher’s was just about what I expected: overpriced airport food that stays a notch or two above the quality of the food court. We had breakfast here and, to their credit, they ask everyone who walks in if they have at least an hour before boarding. An ethical practice, if nothing else. This turned away the couple next to us, but luckily we had some time to spare. The food was actually decent, so go ahead and order anything with eggs and meat. Though we expected food to take a while, service seemed pretty lethargic for a large room with only 5 or so diners. But it’s certainly the«classy» choice in this part of Newark International.

Been there twice. Never again. My T-bone appeared like it was fired in a pan. No crust, just gray. A bit tough of a cut, but perhaps I was using a butter knife. No steak knives in EWR. Thanks, TSA. Why I will never come again? I tried to pay with my Amex and was told by my server, Ana, it was expired. I looked at my card which was imprinted 05⁄22. I showed her the card and no, the cc machine said it was expired. I called Amex and was told my card was valid. Paid my bill in cash and walked over to the news stand. Bought a pack of $ 5 gum and yes, my Amex card was valid. I want back to Gallagher’s and show the server that my card worked. Ana said it was not her problem. Well if the cc machine doesn’t work and other customers get their credit cards declined, it is her problem.

One of the best airport dining experiences I’ve had… Could have lucked out but I found the food and service to be top notch. I had the French onion soup and the beef burger. The French onion was perfect, extra cheesy and the broth was very tasty. The burger was cooked perfectly and the brioche bun was fresh and soft. My girl had the steak salad and greatly enjoyed it, saying the steak was tender and juicy and the salad was crisp with a delicious dressing. Service was quick and attentive. Bill was just over $ 50. Overall a top on-the-go experience.

So… I’m a Cobb salad fanatic… It’s my goto meal when I want something in between hearty and light… The Cobb at Gallaghers did not disappoint. The greens were crisp and other veggies fresh, but the icing on this salad was the Roquefort cheese and dressing that adorned the top. service was unexpectedly speedy which was good since I was on a layover!

Obnoxious service here. As an airport location you should expect fast service and for what they charge you should expect a decent meal. I got neither

Came her for lunch after my terrible experience with Hamachi Sushi next door(never eat there). Had the crab cake entrée since it came with two cakes. Both were quite large and had nearly zero filler. Lightly coated and sautéed they were very good. Only negative is that they came with only tartar sauce, lemon and a piece of parsley. I know the place is pricey but maybe some sort of additional side would have been good.

Westie grilled chicken sandwich showed up at room temp. Salad was some torn up red and green lead lettuce w two slices of tomato on top. Dressing(at least) was good. Prompt service initially but when it came to paying and catch my flight waitress was nowhere to be found. Goose Island IPA draft earns them on star. I have only ordered the sliced steak salad here before. Need to stick worn that. A_S

On a connection in Newark and stopped in for a bite. Had the calamari’s for the appetizer they were decent. We had a burger and a steak sandwich. Steak sandwich was good a little pricey. Fries were very oily and greasy. Nice place to sit down and relax but food was just average for prices charged.

Very tender and juicy steaks. Everything tastes delicious but it’s expensive and there are no regular sized sides, only family style. I’ll be back but it will be when I got plenty of money in my pocket.

Soooooo this was ok at best. I had time to kill. I decided on Gallaghers because the dry aging beef showcase walking by spoke to me. I was sat and decided on the filet and mashed potatoes and a half of bottle of wine. The filet was ok at best. The waitress asked me if I needed A-1 or horseradish. After trying the steak I should have gotten the A-1 as it would have offered more flavor than the steak. A steak that is seasoned and cooked correctly doesn’t need sauce extra. The mashed potatoes were bland and it was completely lacking seasoning. $ 35 for a filet and potatoes with no flavor… I could have done this at home on a George Foreman grill and it would be better. I don’t know much about this place but I’m guessing they have a place in the city… and I’m hoping it’s better than this airport spot. Worst airport meal ever. Overpriced for the taste. Pass on this. Find a pizza joint or a bar.

Had the steak salad and shrimp cocktail. While the shrimp was decent it was $ 20… The steak salad would have been fine at half the price and without the steak. The steak looked greasy or warmed over, and tasted bland. The service was great, especially for the airport.

I headed to Gallagher’s before my most recent flight from terminal C. With a 6 hour flight ahead of me, I wanted a big meal to tie me over. I didn’t expect much from a restaurant in an airport, but was pleasantly surprised. I was seated right away(the restaurant expands in the back and is quite big). I ordered the beef tenderloin with asparagus salad and potatoes. It came out pretty quickly. The portion wasn’t big, but satisfying. The bacon was a good compliment to the asparagus and I really liked the mustard vinaigrette. The service was a little on the slower side, so if you’re in a rush, this isn’t for you. Luckily for me I had a couple of hours to kill and stayed a little longer to enjoy a chai tea. Overall, the best meal I’ve had in an airport, though on the pricier side.

Been coming here for years. The first several years the food and service were not up to par. Now the food and service are very good. Something changed for the better a couple years ago. I have been happy each time I have come here now 8 times in a row. No complaints. Keep it simple, dry aged prime sirloin or ribeye and red wine. This is the best meal in all of ewr and the prices are similar to a steakhouse not in an airport while the food is as good.

Very pricey! Excellent quality for an airport restaurant. Finely, dry-aged beef. Meat so tender that they dont provide you with a steak knife, just a large butter knife! Order the 10 oz fillet Mignon and loved every piece. Biting into each layer had it’s own flavor and texture. The aged beef provides a crisp, smoky flavor. No need to season or mix with any sauces.

I looked at the prices on the posted menu before continuing on to my gate. Way too expensive for me. But then I got a voucher from United Airlines to give up my seat and take a later flight. They also gave me a $ 10 meal voucher. On the way to my new gate, I rethought about the prices since I now had a «discount». Greeted by a hostess, she brought me to a table with a nice view of the ramp. No power outlet nearby or access to the United Club’s WiFi from here. I went with one of the cheapest meals on the menu, an $ 18 steak sandwich. With a draft beer that turned out to be $ 7. When it arrived(it took a long while for a ‘medium rare’), it was excellent. A nice pile of salted fries on the side, there was a big piece of sliced french bread and a good 5 or 6 ounces of thinly shaved steak on there. The dipping sauce was excellent. I skipped dessert. The waitress had no problem with my voucher, but she kept the original of my check. I tried to get her attention to get that, but she was nowhere to be found. Bummer. I can’t say I would return — it’s expensive airport food.

Why on earth did I ever spend money here? There are a variety of reasons: 1) the allure of meat 2) the vanity of the name Gallagher’s 3) the curiosity of never having had steak in an airport. I was already on my way to Vegas(where the original is located in the NYNY hotel — woof) but decided a business lunch was worth it before my near cross country flight. With an open display window to various cuts of meat, this airport steakhouse looked remarkably like the real thing. The old school red and white checkered table cloths, black and white photos lined up on the wall, and jazz playing in the background had me thinking this would be a good thing. Our waiter was slow and lethargic, which seeing as I was dining in a New Jersey airport, was to be expected. Instead of recommending specials or describing the dishes, he simply suggested«anything on the menu.» My colleague went for the Broadway Blue, a 10oz sirloin with roquefort cheese and onions and I went for the $ 15 prime beef burger. I didn’t like my burger. It was cooked a little more thoroughly than medium rare and the flavor of the meat was more bland than tasty. My dining companion was not impressed with the sirloin, so we pulled a switch-a-roo and tried each other’s dishes in hopes we’d like the latter. Sadly, there was no improvement and as a result, there’s no thumbs up. Worst of all, they took so long with getting our dishes out that we were almost late for our flight. We sat down almost two hours before the flight. Suddenly a food court doesn’t so bad.

Coming back from an international flight on Christmas eve, Newark was my layover. I grin from ear to ear and reminesce about the juiciest bone-in steak meal. Oxtail soup was a welcome starter as well. Didn’t care for the cold, stale bread that came with the soup so tossed that aside. Yet another proclamation from me: best airport steakhouse I have visited.
