Very authentic food. Everything, including the deserts are made fresh and served with pride.

Great food. The place is at the end of a strip mall and isn’t anything fancy but has very good food. We where the only ones at the restraint at 12noon on a Sunday so guess it’s not well known. Only down fall is all the drinks are bottled or canned including water so we got bottled water that was semi cold and a empty cup no ice and I had to ask for lemon. The water was $ 1.99 each so $ 4 just for water. The staff is quiet and does ask if the food is fine but stay quiet and out of the way. There where only 2 people working when we came in. I’m guessing the owners.

Ate there today with coworkers. I had the sarma(stuffed cabbage leaves) and they were very good. My two coworkers had the mix grill and it was a lot of food. The food was good. My only complaint is they only serve bottled water and it is a little pricey.

My goodness the food was delish!!! Loved the authentic Mediterranean cuisine!!! The food is cooked to order, and the meats are to die for!!! It’s off the beaten path but not to be passed over!!!

We had the Sarma(beef and spices rolled in sour cabbage) and Cheese Pita(Cream cheese, ricotta cheese rolled in dough). The Sarma was absolutely fantastic, homemade, tasty with just enough spices to alert the taste buds without being over the top. Rolled in sour cabbage which provides a unique taste that far outshines regular cabbage or peppers. The Cheese Pita was just like Mom used to make, not phyllo dough but homemade which you simply cannot find anymore. You may not be impressed by the ambiance but the food will bring you back as it has for us.

After reading the reviews(mostly good) I stopped in. Interior is pretty spartan, but seating is ample and comfortable. Food was very good and authentic, about as close to food made by my gradparents from the«old country» as I have found around here. Now the owner waited on me so I had no service issues. I will go back since they are offering something very unique and they are worth another visit.

Loved, loved, loved this place! Yes, it’s that place you’ve been driving by and always say you’ll give it a try. Do not wait. Such nice staff and a cozy atmosphere. The food was wonderful. Not one mediocre dish. I had the Cevapi, my mother had the stuffed cabbage and my father had the mixed grill. We were so pleased with each bite. That Cevapi was cooked perfectly, the bread that accompanied it was soft and buttery and a perfect compliment. The Kaymak, which is a cheese-like spread was so yummy, we were fighting over it. We finished off the meal with some Baklava. Not an overwhelming portion but that was just fine with us. It was rich and sweet and yummy! Perfect finish to a really outstanding meal. We will absolutely, definitely be back!!!

Amazing food, and the service was exceptional. I don’t think there was an AC so it was a little warm, but It tdidnt ruin our experience at all. I brought my husband, parents, and grandparents. No one was disappointed. We all got the mixed grill minus liver. We will be back.

The food was really good and the owner/cook was very helpful and friendly. It was dead when we went and the restaurant was really dark at 11AM. It was clean but there was only the owner there. The price for the food was decent but you had to pay for bottled water and the sodas came in cans which means no refills. If I hadn’t got food poisoning I would definitely go back. However, Id still recommend this place regardless of the food poisoning.

I definitely recommend getting the highly rated meals on the menu(marked with a star). They’re fantastic and taste authentic. The same goes for the staff. Very traditional and that is a great thing!

We were here last weekend and we enjoyed the food very much. We had mixed meat platter, Cevapi and the burek with spinach and cheese. Authentic Bosnian dishes. Owners are migrants from Bosnia. Laid back restaurant, which means slow service. But that’s ok for us because we came there for the food and had plenty of time to wait.

I stopped in curious to see what Balkan cuisine was. I walked in and was there for almost 10 minutes and was ignored by the wait staff. I left. That is inexcusable.

Nice ethnic cuisine. Authentic Balkan options. Unfortunately, my chicken kabob was way too salty. Maybe the chef was merely having an off-day. However, I noticed another Unilocal review had a similar experience. Pleasant staff.

I had dinner with my fiancé here, it was awesome. Food is very delicious. My fiancé had cevapi, it’s really big, but he wanted to try burek too. He was not sure would he like it. But he ate everything and it was very tasty. I had gulas and it was so delicious. You can find some different kind of drinks to try here as well. Staff is nice and friendly. I definitely highly recommend this place!

Tasty food and friendly service. Husband is up front as server wife is out back. We ordered the meat platter for two $ 21 my DH was not an aficionado of liver, so he passed that one to me. The other meets were very tasty with the roasted peppers and a pimiento spread. Bread was delicious although it was obviously nuked. The cream cheese dip was also great. Do not order the bread and dip as an appetizer, as it comes with the platter. The downside was no water or soda from a soda dispenser. YOUHAVE to pay 2 $ for a bottle of water and $ 3 for a bottle of soda. Please get the dispenser and filtered water. Worth a trip to experience Balkan food at a reasonable price.

LOVED this place! It was pretty quiet the day I went being the only one there. Ordered the mixed grill and it was soooo much food! Lol. Definitely had to take it home but it was delish :) I actually hate liver but the way they cooked theirs I didn’t even notice! Lol. Loved the grilled veggies and olives, pickles. I’ll definitely be back :)

If you’re in the mood to try something different for dinner, try Balkan Cuisine. I wasn’t really sure what Balkan cuisine was. Think somewhere between Greek and Turkish. When going here, don’t expect anything fancy. I don’t mean that in a bad way, but it’s more the type of place that is a hole-in-the wall that serves interesting food. I was in on a Monday night, and we were the only ones in the place. I think there was only one guy working as both cook and server. We got the mixed grill for two, which is a bountiful smorgas of two different types of sausage, beef and chicken kabab, calf liver, peppers, onions, mushrooms, homemade bread, homemade cream cheese(it’s the texture you’d expect, but more pungent), and some fun garnishes like pickles and olives. The meats were well-seasoned and fresh off the grill. My favorites were the sausages. It was a satisfying dinner that contained some interesting and novel flavors. The place would be a lot classier after a quick update of the décor. Right now, they’ve got plastic flowers on the tables and an agave plant growing out of a styrofoam cooler on the windowsill. The service was ok, considering there was one guy running the whole place. I wasn’t thrilled to see that they sell coke by the can for 2.50. I almost opted for beer, which wasn’t much more expensive. In all, it was a good experience. When I feel like I’m tired of eating the same old ordinary foods, I’ll head back to Balkan Cuisine.

I ate here two weeks ago and I liked it. I have never had Balkan food before. We ordered a mixed grill and a spinach pastry. Everything came out warm and tasty. It’s a bit salty, but I think that’s how the meat is flavored. I enjoyed a glass of Balkin beer which was quite good. Next I me I’m going to try the coffee. The place was clean, the waitress was great, the food came out hot and the beer was nice and cold. I had a great experience. I didn’t give this place five stars only because they did not have the salads available on the menu and the vegetable selection was lacking. If your a vegetarian, skip this place. Also, I saw a previous post complaining that this was a unfriendly Muslim restaurant and the poster felt uncomfortable being a Christian and all. Well there was nothing about this place that was hostile to christians, not the décor, the staff or the clientele. Don’t believe what this person posted. The food is good, the décor is nice, the atmosphere is friendly and it is clean. I can’t wait to return.

Going to be honest. I’m sitting in the restaurant now, and am so far not impressed. The hostess/waitress. is awful, and has been on the phone since I walked in and sat myself. After asking what I’d like to drink, she brought me a cup of water with no ice… and no straw. Then, picked up her phone conversation where she left off. Apparently her best friend likes someone and this girl is SUPER upset that she found out from people at school rather than this dude. Really? It has also been over half an hour since I ordered, and just heard the girl walk into the kitchen and say«is this old??». Fail. Food came. Girl left. The guy(who I’m assuming owns the restaurant) sat behind the bar and watched me eat. Finished my water, never offered a refill. I walked to the bar to pay and the guy never said a word. Then, I was overcharged for my plate. While the food was good, I will never go back. Worst service ever.

A little hidden gem at the end of a strip that we happened to stumbled upon. What a amazing find! A neat, clean room with about a dozen tables and wonderful staff that fill with mouth watering aromas that reminds me of old cartoons where the just the smell lifts one off their feet. Our first time we went with the Balkan’s mixed plate that features six grilled entrees with veggies and homemade bread. OMG! I still can’t pick a favorite but the beef sausages are both fighting for the top spot. Cannot wait to come back for more.
