Red Lobster

What happened to Red Lobster we use to LOVE this place! Now it’s horrible ever since it was bought out by a new company! Use to get the four course meal on Saturday now it’s only available on Monday — Thursday. Then I ordered Walt’s shrimp with a salad and baked potato the baked potato was a mini potato smallest I have ever seen and the salad was the smallest amount of salad ever! What a rip off! Same thing With my husbands dinner tiny potato and skimpy salad he had the admirals feast which use to fill the whole platter now a joke the portions were very small and charged us extra for popcorn shrimp which was fine but the portion was a rip off! Been going to Red Lobster forever but think I will rethink going again! Was a rip off!

Usually it’s pretty good, but tonight service was really, really slow. And they weren’t that busy. That’s why they get a 2 from me tonight. Food was good. Endless shrimp was delicious.

I went there on my birthday with some friends… though the wait was a «little» longer than anticipated, it was worth the wait. The Crabfest menu was great. I ordered the Crab Cakes and Salmon with Crab… delicious! Everyone who ordered their appetizers and food was pleased. The young lady who waited on us was patient and courteous as well.
This was one of the best experiences I’ve had there in a long time. The only reason I gave them a «4» was due to wait and the cheddar biscuits aren’t the same as they used to be. But I will return…

Red Lobster is really trying hard to update its image. In that regard I think they have done a good job. The restaurant facades are really much more attractive than they used to be. I had lunch at the Red Lobster in Newport News today. The food was ok but the service was excellent. I ordered shrimp with mashed potatoes cole slaw and cheddar biscuits. In general, everything except the coleslaw was too salty. Even the cheddar biscuits were too salty.

Honestly I would send my worst enemy to this restaurant. The food quality, quantity and presentation is pathetic in comparison to the exorbitant price they charge. The service is not any better. I don’t believe people actually wait to be tortured like this and pay good money for it.
Last time I went, my fish tasted REALLY fishy, as in NOT fresh, the shrimp were over cooked and tough, and the lobster was way under cooked, (can we say «frozen food» here), not to mention it looked like something was missing from my plate because of the way they presented it. Maybe they should use smaller plates?
Oh, by the way, this was a return visit at the request of the manager because they «F“ed up my food on the previous visit. Seriously, you can get better food at Long John Silvers!
If you want GOOD seafood with a great atmosphere try Bonefish, second choice would be Fin in Port Warwick, just avoid «Tappas» in the bar if you go there. Like raw bar or fried seafood? Harpoon Larry’s is awesome! Surf Rider in Hampton is another really good place. They also have one in Poquoson, but that one doesn’t serve alcoholic beverages. Here’s a tip on a real find, The Point restaurant in Phoebus is a great «hole in the wall» with fantastic seafood. Any of these would be a better choice and won’t disappoint you.
If you want to go to Red Lobster, just order the cheesy biscuits and a house salad, they won’t mess that up too bad. Btw, Williamsburg location isn’t much better.

All in all a great place for seafood & family meals.
To start off, we always love their biscuits — crispy on the edges & warm & fluffy inside.
I had a piña colada with peach topping & it was delicious!
We started off with the fried calamari & vegetables. Yum! The calamari was tender & the batter was crispy, well seasoned & light. The broccoli & red pepper that went with it was delicious too.
For the entrée, we had the broiled lobsters on a bed of baby potatoes. The garlic butter with lemon to go with the lobsters could not have been any better. Shells were finger licking good. The lobster could have stayed a minute or so more in the broiler, otherwise it’d have been perfect. The cob of corn soaked up all the delicious juices & worked great with the whole dish.
We had the chocolate chip lava cookie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Nothing really to shout about, perhaps a little too sweet for our tastebuds & the chocolate lava wasn’t molten enough.
Our server Allison was friendly & attentive throughout our meal. Great job!

Stay away!!! Up all night with food poisoning from either the shrimp or lobster. Lobster was way under cooked and it was probably that. I will never go back to this reb lobster again and I recommend nobody does unless you like puking and diarrhea all night.

Went in for lunch on the weekend. Not bad!
The service was pretty good… food was too. Those biscuits are soooooooo delicious!
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with the taste of the food… he got a lunch portion platter with fried shrimp, scampi, broiled fish and mashed potatoes with lobster. I had the crab and shrimp stuffed flounder with broccoli… it was all very tasty. The salads were nice and fresh, too.

This is probably the best Red Lobster I have ever been to. We often frequent Red Lobsters and its sister Olive Garden, and the service here tops all others I’ve ever been to. We went during lunch/​early dinner, and it was spacious, quiet, and we were seated immediately.
Our waitress was especially exceptional, and seemed to be a happy veteran of her career. She pulled all our strings, and we were deeply satisfied by the end. Speedy, polite, conversational, upfront, and down to earth. I would definitely go back just for her personal service!
Of course those biscuits were hot out of the oven and brought out with our drinks.
I ordered the crab linguine with added crab legs. Cooked to perfection, full of flavor, and brought out right after being cooked. My husband ordered the 4 course feast, with a fresh salad, clam chowder, maple glazed chicken, and finished off with caramel cheesecake. Everything he ordered he loved. The portions were such that we had to take half our dish home. I’m stuffed while doing this review!

I have been warned away from Red Lobster, but on a whim we tried it and were pleasantly surprised. It was NOT at all like the chain food we expected. The food was very good, service was good and the price was very reasonable. In fact the food rivaled New England restaurants. So do not hesitate to stop in and chow.

The nicest Red Lobster I personally ever been at. Not a big fan of this place however this one was exceptional. The restaurant itself was nice and clean. Our waitress was extremely polite. Our food arrived all piping hot. Everything was tasty. I can see us returning often.

Personally, I don’t eat seafood and have always heard bad things about Red Lobster restaurants in general… but my friends wanted to go here for lunch, and I knew they had some steak and chicken options, so I tagged along. The service was great; very prompt and friendly, and all of the orders came out fast and correct. I was pleasantly surprised that the non-​seafood options were not the standard boring fare of most seafood restaurants, and even had a good selection of healthy options under 600 calories, like the maple-​glazed chicken.

Went for the «Endless shrimp» with some friends from work. We’ve been disappointed before but not this time. Great service and the waiter kept the shrimp coming! This was more than any of us expected from a chain restaurant. Kudos to the staff.

Went here for Mother’s Day today. I’ve always had really good service at red lobster but today was exceptional! We had a party of 12 for Mother’s Day. Fabio was out waiter and he was fun, polite and prompt. We never went without bread, sauces or drinks. Our food came out quickly and was piping hot. It was an amazing visit overall, especially on a busy day like Mother’s Day.
