Doug is a true professional. When I thought it was the right time to pop the question, I went to him for advice on a ring. He helped me build exactly the engagement ring I wanted and he had it ready within a few days. But things didn’t turn out the way I was hoping with the proposal — she turned me down. Doug took the custom ring back, no questions asked. Two years later, when my girlfriend told me that she wished she had answered the question differently, I went back to Doug. I couldn’t remember the details of the ring but Doug did. Again, he had the ring ready for me in no time. Then came the wedding bands. He made a custom metal and wood band for me. Since wood rings were not his specialty, he found a local violin maker and learned some tricks of the trade and my wedding band came out looking great. Three years later, it’s still in perfect condition. He even kept some cuts from the wood in case I ever need to go back for repairs. One last thing that really impressed me — he never tried to upsell me. Most of my money went towards the engagement ring so our wedding bands were modest. But he was just as professional when making our modest wedding bands as he was when making the engagement ring. If I ever need jewelry again, I’ll be going back to Doug.
