Although I think this place is closed, either for good for the season, you should, at worst, go by the empty location it was at and weep. Food: Great! Sandwiches reminded me of Italy, no lie. It was exactly the type of place I’d get a sandwich from during lunch in Rome, and the quality was on par. It served Lavazza coffee! Amazing! Great coffee, great gelato, great place. Atmosphere: Very café, didn’t have that warm feeling of wanting to hang out in there forever, but the food made up for it. The best thing about that place though, was that they always had soccer on. Service: If the owner was there, he was waiting on me, if not, it was the typical high school student working there. Overall: If this place were actually gone, I would in fact miss it.

I liked this place. The fellow who owned it was always nice to me, and his gelato(although this statement is subject to analysis and interpretation) was arguably the best in the area. But now it’s all over, because Nudo went out of business. I guess they couldnt find a way to remain profitable during the off season? I dunno… It’s sad because they also had really good sandwiches. Such a waste.

Gelato, sandwiches and soup are all great, especially for the price. Nice atmosphere. We go here all the time now.

This cute gelateria offers a wide array of delicious flavors. However, it is pricey. My favorite is the Nudo flavor(espresso, chocolate and marscapone). Blood orange is sweet and refreshing.

A sweet little gelateria with a few tricks up its sleeve(Lavazza coffee, paninis, Modern pastries, waffle bowls!) The wee shop seats 8 comfortably, so admire the coral walls and overall charming atmosphere quickly — those seats are hot property! Twenty or so gelatos and 4 – 6 sorbets(yes, staff, they ARE different) that feature familiar flavas — pistachio, stracciatella, a billion grades of cocoa — and a few unique to Nudo, including *ahem* the Nudo. Espresso, chocolate and mascarpone blended and drizzled with a crackly chocolate shell. Had I any inkling to enjoy the bitterness of espresso, I may have given it a shot. Instead, I decided on the Key Lime Pie, which turned out to be quite tart and extremely refreshing. There are a few chunka-chunka-burnin’-crusts in the gelato, but for a more balanced taste reminiscent of Florida’s one true pie, you may as well opt for the house-made waffle bowl. It’s not the creamiest gelato and the pistachio was fairly bland, but the rest of the offerings would definitely compel a return visit for lunch and dessert. A note to the owners: your fragola sorbet has a phenomenally fresh berry flavor to it, but the water-based treat is most definitely not a cream-based gelato. We called ahead looking for what’s evidently a rare gelato flavor and were told you indeed had it available. Just a little sad panda moment.

This place is pretty bomb… So far I’ve tried several panini(delicious), a banana smoothie(yum), some freshly filled mini cannolis(yes!), and a small pistachio gelato(pretty good). Throw in some nice décor and friendly owners /staff and you have a winner! So far my favorite panini is the Prosciutto di Parma(a simple yet tasty sandwich with really high quality mozzarella, prosciutto di parma, tomato, EVOO& arugala). I also really liked the Tutto Formaggio. All their panini follow a similar formula… simple, clean, great ingredients, and not too big or greasy. For me its the perfect portion size but doesn’t come cheap(most cost $ 7.50). Their gelato is good but less creamy than most premium gelatos(and what I generally prefer). This allows the flavors to come through more strongly and is still delicious in my book.

I like that a father and son business is here. I talked to the son he is very friendly and the gelato is good. I’m really happy that a stylish yet warm place like this is here. We need more places like this to upgrade the neighborhood:)

We stopped here during my Watertown tour so we could compare it to my local gelato place. I had a peanut butter flavor which my local place doesn’t do much with. It was yummy but the density wasn’t quite as creamy/smooth as I’m used to with gelato. The peanut butter flavor was quite good though and I’d definitely try out additional flavors if I’m in the neighborhood again.

What a nice addition to the area! I love the changes that were made to this space to make it and inviting place to sit and enjoy a treat. The flavors were many and the sizes plenty. Two thumbs up for a sweet treat in the neighborhood!

I’m sad to see that some people had negative experiences here. When I went, I had ordered the almond toffee crunch gelato(I was indecisive of a flavor and picked the one that was almost running out because that means it HAD to be good) and it was amazing! So based on this flavor, I really like Nudo’s gelato. When I go back, I’ll sample the other flavors and write a more comprehensive review. There did give me a good serving of the small cup(didn’t just fill it to the top like another review indicated) so I do think they were being fair. The panini wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t like the best sandwich I’ve ever had.

I have walked by Nudo many times but hadn’t stopped by until recently. The store front is modern and trendy and it’s obvious they wanted to create an upscale alternative in the neighborhood. The interior is fresh, clean and bright but limited space for customer’s to enjoy their food. I was presently surprised with the great selection of flavors, over 20. The flavors include lemon, coconut, cappuccino, stracciatella, hazelnut, raspberry, pistachio, nudo and zabrione, just to name a few. I noticed that they also serve panini’s and salads. I only tried the Gellato during this visit and sampled several of the unusual flavors before settling on zabrione. It was very refreshing and that’s a challenge when this rich flavor tasted like eggnog. The three size offerings are too close to each other given the difference in price. They should maybe offer only two sizes, small and large. I would also suggest they not just fill the cup to the top and stop but give a little extra with the pricing as it is. People want to feel they are getting a good value and not an exact measurement. Charging extra for sprinkles(jimmies) and whip cream is a bit nickel and dime and not worth the extra money. Will I go back? Sure because the gelato was very good and I likes the more up-scale environment but I am not sure with the limited menu offerings and steep pricing that they will make it through a long cold winter. It should be two stars but I give it three stars because of the great potential! Hopefully they can perfect their menu, pricing and increase their offerings. UPDATE7÷31÷11 Today I returned to Nudo for some gellato and was served by the owner a portion that was overflowing the cup it was served in. I definitely felt I was served a portion that warrented the steep price. He also was much more friendly then the previous person and offered me many samples of the unique flavors and made recommendations on what to try. I was not only impressed with him but the improvements from our previous visit. I am upgrading the rating from three stars to four

I don’t expect this family run business to last long. You are in nonantium, if you want to sell italian, it better knock my socks off. It failed. I am a firm believer in truth in advertising, if you are going to claim that you source all your products using local raw materials, then you better do it. I asked the kid behind the counter if the gelato they made, nope, their location was too small and they aren’t allowed to make anything in their location. He did say, they had big plans to expand. Sorry, don’t think you’ll make it in nonamtum, let alone be able to expand. I have had better gelato. To claim that you have a house flavor, nudo, seems to indicate that you make it. Sorry, you lose. The other pastries, also italian, look to be bought as well. I don’t care if your dad graduated from a culinary school, if you aren’t using those skills to make anything… what does it matter? I say, gone in a year, looks like they blew their load(capital) on the physical plant, I wonder if they will be able to run in the red for long. Small, is tiny, and expensive for what you get. See the small cups… They fill it to the top, but not a smidgen more. The larger sizes are only fractionally larger. Yup, dead in under a year. Holding to my prediction. Will I go back… maybe, if i happen to walk by…

The gelato was… meeh. It’s gelato. Some cool flavors, but nothing that WOW-ed me. At least the service could have been better. Seriously? You can only sample two flavors? I’ve never seen a gelato service that didn’t want to get the customers to order more. And the servings were dinker tiny! Not like it was cheap either. It’s the same price as some of the gelatos here, but they filled the gelato to the top of the cup and that was IT. I’ve definitely been to better tasting and more generous gelato places.

I stopped in here today to get an iced coffee. The person at the register made it for me and I went to pay with my card. He said that they do a $ 5 minimum and I said that I was not going to pay five dollars for an iced coffee. I didn’t have any cash(hence, the use of my card) so then he berated me that he made me an iced coffee that I never intended to pay for. I said, «I have a card…» and then he started over with his argument as though I didn’t hear him. Crappy, crappy terrible service. Dont go.

Delicious gelato! I came here with my mom during opening weekend, and again with my husband, dad, brother, and sister in law over the 4th of July weekend. Both times I was able to sample a few flavors and pick one from there. All of the flavors I’ve sampled have been delicious–(including the flavors my family members picked) this includes cappuccino, stracciatella, raspberry, pistachio, and a few others that are slipping my mind right now. My husband got a chocolate gelato shake, which he enjoyed as well. I look forward to going back as often as possible!

After passing by Nudo many times I finally had the chance to stop by today. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they are much more than a Gelateria — I would love to try the pastries and panini sandwiches sometime in the future. Nudo is small, but seems to offer many good things in a tiny package :) They have the perfect amount of flavors, not too many which can overwhelm me. I went with 2 flavors: Nudo and Vanilla in a waffle cone. Both were amazing, I cant wait to try more ! My boyfriend had Vanilla & Coconut which he loved as well. Very excited to have this in my neighborhood. So glad this is not another frozen yogurt place — we have too many in the metro Boston area.

When I first heard that there was a new Gelateria opening up just miles from my place of work, I just had to tell my husband as(1) he’s a big fan of gelato and(2) he makes some mean gelato/sorbetto himself. Naturally, we had to try Nudo on opening weekend. We both tried gelato/sorbetto only even though the shop does have some pastry and pannini options.(Some time soon I will have to try the Nutella and banana pannini as it sounds scrumptious). Nudo offers 24 flavours of gelato and sorbet, which is a good amount from which to choose, and they offer some flavours unusual to me like Fig and Torrone. I decided on the peanut butter and chocolate(one flavour) and chocolate; he had the melon sorbetto, fig and espresso. All of these flavours were good but the sorbetto seemed a bit chunky, which was off-putting to him as he prefers a smooth sorbetto. The service was great! The staff behind the counter were excited and helpful and an older gentleman that I perceived to be the owner popped out and asked us how we liked our orders. I know this sounds weird, but the tables were sweet dark granite topped and I just wanted to take them home. I will definitely pop in again some time this week/weekend to try some lemon and maybe twist a friend’s arm to see if she wants to come along to try the Torrone.

I’m a bit of a gelato aficionado and travel the world seeking the greatest gelato. The gelato here beats any frozen dessert that Cabot’s serves up so it is definitely a welcome addition to the area. The store offers a few tables of seating with the bonus being an espresso bar. Overall, the gelato is perfectly fine. The texture was a little grainy and not as smooth and creamy as other gelatos I’ve had with a texture more closely approximating ice cream. I also wish the flavours were more intense and rich. I had the hazelnut and pistachio, both of which were okay. The hazelnut has a slightly artificial taste and is overly sweet. The gelato making is outsourced and they are quite mysterious about it. I do hope the owners have a hefty hand in the production process because the flavours and texture could use some fine tuning.

Newton’s got something nu to talk about! I stopped by for the grand opening, well-prepared with an empty stomach, and I went home very satisfied! While 20+ choices of yummy gelato can be tempting, maybe even overwhelming for the indecisive, staff were happy to offer samples of flavors I was debating between. I went with the nudo flavor — mascarpone, chocolate chips, and a bunch of other awesome things I can’t remember. This gelato was out of this world, and each spoonful was light but packed with flavor, with a creamy, smooth texture — not heavy and hard like other gelatos I’ve had. I followed this up with a sweet panini — fresh cut strawberries and nutella in between slices of warm bread blanketed in confectioner’s sugar. Unbelievable! And this bite of heaven was all washed down with a Lavazzo cappuccino covered in a chocolate powder explosion. I would highly recommend this place to folks who are looking not just for great food made with great ingredients, but for those who appreciate food prepared with heart and soul. That’s what this family-run business is all about, and I, too, wish Nudo all the best!

Really awesome gelato ad helpful staff. I can attest to the goodness of the blueberry, pear, and nudo(vanilla, espresso, chocolate flavors). They have a flat screen to watch games or whatever they have on. I hope they do well. Everything looked and tasted great :)
